Jayne was fantastic - our first trip away leaving the cats since moving to IOW, but they were really happy and Jayne kept us up to date with photos - highly recommended.

About: I volunteer at cats protection and have a dog myself (who funnily enough doesn’t like walks) so would love to get to know some people’s pets 💛 I have plenty of time (mostly in mornings and evenings) to check in and hang out with or take some pups out for some exploring I know how unique animals can be and they’ll all have different needs. I’m committed to getting to know the animal to ensure their comfort and safety

About: I’ve taken care of animals my whole life, studied animal science at college and am now studying marine biology at university. I trained my dog from a puppy (who i miss very much at uni!) so understand behaviour, and have experience working within multiple veterinary practices as a voluntary patient care assistant. I have also been entrusted to take care of multiple neighbours dogs, house-sitting and walks, including giving insulin injections. I’m currently on my summer break from university so have lots of availability alongside my summer lifeguarding job, and I enjoy early mornings so am happy to provide early walks! I am currently unable to offer services within my home but am happy to come to you! I understand that every dog has different needs and I will go above and beyond to ensure they are comfortable.

About: I have a diploma in canine communication, first aid, pet sitting and dog walking. I’ve worked in a pet shop, which also helped gain experience and knowledge about cats and dogs. I’ve owned my dog since I moved out eight years ago. I’ve got experience with all types of animals from owning horses, down to rats, snakes, mice and fish. I’m currently just starting this venture, so I have full flexibility. Please get in contact with me to discuss times and days you need help with. Caring for pets in your home, will involve sticking to the routing you and your dog already have in place .. this makes it familiar to your furry family member. Whether that’s hourly toilet breaks or two hourly or a time they like a cuddle.

About: I always jump at the chance to help out with dogs and other pets in my family, and my business was set-up so I can spend more time caring for my favourite animals. I've been caring-for and walking dogs for a number of years. I'm currently studying, but am flexible with regards to times and availability - so I can accommodate your needs and work around what you want I care for pets in the owner's home only at present, but can supply treats, toys and other things to keep your dog occupied and happy whilst you're not there

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Cat Sitting in Isle of Wight on Rover is £12.32 per Visit (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Many sitters respond to requests in under an hour. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
