Excellent as always. Both cats are so relaxed with Nasima so takes out any stress for them of having someone new in the house. It’s great to know they’re well looked after. Would highly recommend.

Aimee has been absolutely fantastic, very responsive and clearly someone who cares a lot for the animals she is caring for. Aimee made sure to understand our young cats food and litter needs, sent lovely photos of how they were doing and did all of this on Christmas and Boxing Day! Would recommend Aimee’s services wholeheartedly. Thank you!

About: I’ve had animals all my life, and got in love with them since I was little, I took care of cats, dogs and even parrots. Love animals with my whole heart and feel like they’re my best friend. I’m currently studying law and criminology but I do have a flexible schedule to take care of pets. I can do weekends and holidays. Any questions please feel free to message me. I live in portsmouth and I’m free over holidays. I live with my dad, brother, and sister who all love dogs. I am always home and am available any time, there is always someone around and the pets are never left alone. We have a reasonable sized garden, which is completely safe. About: I’m always the one asked to dog or cat sit! I absolutely love doing it and getting to know the pets. I do sometimes think I’m a dog whisperer as I seem to know what they want or are thinking. I provide lots of cuddles and plenty of play. I have experience looking after both large and small dogs. I have also looked after multiple dogs at once, meeting each of their specific needs. I have experience with nervous and anxious dogs too, adapting the dog walk to suit the dog. I currently work in hospitality but I’m able to be flexible with my days and shifts. I love going out for walks so a little dog to join me would be fab. This gives me the best of both worlds as I sometimes travel so having a pet isn’t suitable for me full time. I have a fenced garden and plenty of parks to offer a well deserved play outside. I enjoy caring for pets in their own home and getting to know their home comforts and routine.

About: I did dog walking for a few years during COVID, and am also currently studying veterinary medicine, where safe interaction with and management of animals is a large part of the course. I also have OSCEs (qualifications) in handling cats and dogs safely!! I'm currently a student, so I would have to work around my lectures. However some of my lectures are online, and it is almost the end of the academic year, so I will be able to have very flexible bookings! I have a cat at home, so I am well accustomed to their sometimes unpredictable nature. I'm also able to take dogs out on walks and safely put them in crates if needed.

About: We've had dogs in the family since I was a baby. We've had Newfoundlands, Alsatians, Cockerpoos, Staffies and Labs to name a few. I've looked after my own, friends and neighbours pets over the years. Whether whilst on holiday or just popping in to keep them company and make sure they have fresh water and food down whilst they're at work. I did the Duke of Edinburgh award many moons ago but did 3 months at a vets and learnt a lot. I also studied animal management at South downs College, looking after a range of animals and did a 1 month placement on a dairy farm in southwick. So you can trust no matter how big or small your fur baby will be in capable hands. I've generally had all sizes of pets from the types listed above as well as cats, I've also had rodents, horses too. One thing all pets have in common is they love and need some attention so if your furry companion(s) need some TLC whilst you're away. Drop me a message and I'll be happy to help out, however is needed. I work a 35 hour week but on a seasonal contract so my availability is wide open from November to March. I have between 2 and 3 days off a week and can accommodate most times around my shift pattern. So long as my own pooches are sorted out I don't have a private Garden but I have communally shared grounds. Im a stones throw away from Milton common and my two love a walk and a swim. If I am caring for your furry family member at your own home. You can be rest assured I'll treat it with great care. I'll happily sort any accidents and will keep you updated should I find anything troubling to make sure issues can be solved. I regularly come home to torn up letters and the odd toilet roll strewn throughout my flat.

About: I have loved and cared for animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up with dogs and cared for a 16-year-old Jack Russell/Cocker Spaniel and currently a 4-year-old Jack Russell puppy. They are truly the sweetest dogs, and caring for them is my favourite part of everyday life. Because of them, I have hands-on experience with both senior dogs and puppies, including weekend puppy training, adapting routines for older dogs, and understanding changing needs as dogs age. I also have extensive experience with dogs who need a little extra patience and understanding. My current dog, Lottie, is four years old and struggles with anxiety, high energy levels, and reactivity such as barking. I’ve taken her to behavioural and therapy-based training sessions, and through this I’ve learned how to calmly support anxious dogs, use positive reinforcement, maintain structure, and tailor care to help them feel safe and settled. I’m very comfortable caring for energetic, nervous, or sensitive dogs and always take the time to understand what works best for each individual. As my wider family has grown, so has my experience, I’m now the “go-to” dog sitter for family and friends and have cared for a wide range of breeds, from huskies to chihuahuas. This followed me to university as well, where I regularly looked after other people’s dogs, gaining confidence with different personalities, routines, and energy levels. Alongside dogs, I am a lifelong cat lover. I grew up with my own rescued three-legged cat, Tinkabelle, who was very affectionate and loved staying close to home, and later cared for Tiggo, a more independent, free-roaming cat who lived to 17 years old. My sister now lives in France with five cats, and I regularly look after them when I visit, so I’m very comfortable managing multiple cats, varied routines, and different temperaments. I’m patient, reliable, and genuinely passionate about animal care. I always aim to stick closely to your pet’s usual routine to keep them relaxed while you’re away, and I’m very happy to provide regular photo and text updates for peace of mind. Your pets will be cared for as if they were my own. Dogs fit really naturally into my daily routine. I work from home with a very flexible schedule, which means I can fully accommodate a dog’s individual needs rather than fitting them around a rigid timetable. I’m able to take dogs out for early morning walks (I’m an early riser), as well as longer walks during the day and again in the evening if needed. I’m a very active person and live close to green spaces and parks, so walks, playtime, and enrichment are a normal part of my day. Because I can finish work when I need to, I’m always available for toilet breaks, feeding schedules, medication, training reinforcement, or simply spending time with dogs who need company and reassurance. Whether a dog needs lots of exercise, a calm structured routine, or extra patience and attention, I’m completely flexible and happy to adapt my day around what helps them feel most comfortable and settled. I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs and personality. I’m completely open and flexible in how I care for dogs, whether they need lots of attention, reassurance, and companionship, or whether they’re more independent and simply need someone present to help them feel safe and settled at home. I have experience caring for dogs across a wide range of temperaments, from very needy or anxious dogs to those who are more relaxed and self-sufficient. I take the time to understand what each dog needs to feel comfortable, happy, and secure, and I adjust my approach accordingly. My priority is always to make sure your dog feels safe, cared for, and at ease while you’re away.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Maria. I knew I'd made the right choice before she had even met the cats, and they took to her so naturally when she did. It was a great experience, with regular updates and the satisfaction knowing I had nothing to worry about throughout and on my return. Thank you again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Cat Sitting in Portsmouth on Rover is £12.65 per Visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 824 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in Portsmouth. About 94% of Portsmouth sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
