“Kirsty is absolutely amazing with my nervous dog, and very respectful and considerate. I messaged Kirsty first to explain about my dog to see if she is comfortable watching her, and she came for a couple of meet and greets to ensure that my dog is comfortable and happy before Kirsty watched her whilst I was out for the day. She was very attentive to everything I asked of her, and ensured to take notes to make sure that nothing got missed. I loved the photo updates Kirsty sent to me throughout the day and I am so pleased at how quickly my dog became comfortable around her, especially as she does usually take quite a bit of time to warm up to strangers. I am looking forward to asking Kirsty to watch my dog again so I can enjoy a stress free day out, knowing that my dog is in very safe hands!”

“Otis can be very nervous around new people, which he was on the first visit from Alexandra but she was kind and compassionate and broke his worries down, second visit he was a very happy boy and playful. 100% recommend her and came home to a very happy and content boy thank you 😊”

About: I have taken care of dogs since a young age, and grew up with 2 Maltese Shih Tzu's Ralph and Frankie. I walked, fed and most importantly cuddled them everyday. I now live with an adorable beagle, bursting with energy. I have dog and cat sat for family and friends multiple times since the age of 17, so have plenty experience with all types of dogs. While I have less experience with cats, I still love to look after them and give them just as much love (when they want it!). Hire me if you want a friendly and reliable pet sitter! I work full time Monday-Friday 8:30-17:00 typically. I am able to offer attention/walking/feeding in the morning, during my afternoon lunch break and all evening. On the weekends, I'm fully free to give you pets all my attention. I can offer your animals safety as I am used to living in environments where pets are the main focus. I would treat your home with care and respect to ensure you come back to your home just how you left it.
“Hana was so lovely and attentive to my two cats, she stayed with them for the allotted time and sent lots of photos so i could see them! She even sat and had cuddles with one of my cats as she is very social and loves off of snuggles. Hana has made me feel so much happier about going away as i can see my cats are safe with her. Thank you so much for caring for my fur babies 🐈⬛❤️”

About: Me and my partner Ben, 27 & 29 have both had pets our whole lives. We have loads of free time in the day and would love to look after your pets! I also have an enhanced DBS. We have free time in the days and weekends, one of us can always be home, and we have so much free time for walks and playing! We have a fenced off back garden with plenty of space, and shade. Lots of space indoors, nice and secure. And a lovely walk nearby. The gates to the garden are padlocked, and the house is alarmed.
“Charlotte came to look after our 3 playful kitties and they clearly loved their time with her! She fed and played with them and kept us updated with lots of pictures of our furr babies. She did a introductory visit to meet the cats and find out where all their stuff was in the house too. Very professional and friendly throughout our experience with her. Thank you, Charlotte!”

“Keighley filled in for us as our usual sitter was away and did a fantastic job. She kept us up to date with every visit and Pippi seemed perfectly content! Keighley kept her food topped up and took care of the litter tray for us, even cleaning up after Pips had an accident. Thank you so much for sitting for us, would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter!”

“Thank you so much to Sally for the pop in today, Winnie looked happy in the pictures and we appreciated that Sally stayed extra time with her as well which we weren’t expecting 😊”

“Absolutely fantastic service, she was kind when first meeting Poppy who wasn’t to sure at first! From the pictures it looked like Poppy really warmed up to Jennifer and looks relaxed. Which is a complete relief to know someone was there for her while we went to a concert. Thank you so much Jennifer!!”

“Megan was fantastic with my 3 furbabies. 2 of them had been unwell before we went away and she was great at communicating how they were and even went out of her way to get some ham to try and encourage them to eat something. 100% recommend and will be rebooking :)”

About: Hiya I’m Keira! I’m a third year veterinary medicine student who utterly adores animals - especially dogs and cats. I have had my own dog for nearly 13 years and also have worked in a range of rescue centres, vets and other animal related places as part of my degree. I will treat your furry companion as if they are my own and leave you care free knowing your animal is in safe hands 🤍 I am at university so I’m term times, weekends are more suitable. However in my holidays (especially summer), I have plenty of free time to care for your companion. With each individual animal, it is about understanding how they work, what they feel comfortable with and knowing not two animals are the same. No matter whether it is my own pet or another individual - I ensure they are looked after to an incredibly high standard.
About: Hi my name is Ellisia! And can bath, groom and trim nails. 2 months volunteering in Thailand in a dog sanctuary back in 2020. When I assisted with the running of the dog rescue centre. Bathing, feeding and comforting new rescues. And walking the resident dogs. Owned my own dog for 1 year now! And grew up with a family dog ( a Norfolk terrier) for 17years from the age of 11-28, she sparked my love for animals and dogs that’s for sure. About: I’ve grown up around animals and miss having my own, so I absolutely love looking after other people’s pets. I’ve cared for cats, dogs, hamsters, and even rabbits—mostly for friends, family, and my own over the years. Whether it’s walks, cuddles, feeding time, or just keeping them company, I’m happy to help however I can. I work full-time but have a flexible schedule, so I’m usually available for afternoon and evening walks during the week. I’m also happy to offer overnight care or stay at your home if needed. Weekends are fully open, and I’m more than happy to adjust to your pet’s routine. Just let me know what works best for you. I always treat pets with the same love and care I’d give my own. Whether I’m visiting your home or welcoming your pet into mine, their safety and comfort come first. I follow any routines, feeding schedules, or house rules you provide, and I make sure they feel calm, cared for, and never alone. I’m tidy, respectful, and keep you updated so you know your pet is in good hands.
About: I have had dogs around me since I was a child. I have experience with small dogs as well as larger dogs. I have the most experience with larger dogs such as Border Collies, Labradors and Foxhounds. I am currently self employed, working as a security guard. I have a lot of notice when it comes to security shifts so can always prioritise work with your animals. My cats are indoor cats. So I have various cat trees and toys that they play with on a daily basis. I am comfortable with giving flea treatments as well as rewarding them with treats.
About: I’ve been an animal lover all my life and have had had the privilege of being both a cat and dog mum. I lived in Dubai for 10 years and this is where I had my first experience of taking in 3 rescue kittens, that I went onto adopt. Then my rescue desert dog, followed by many more. They all returned with me to the UK and lived long and happy lives. I’ve also been a dog walker and cat companion for the RSPCA. Whilst I don’t have my own pets at the moment, we have many in the family that I am called on to look after. I work for myself so am able to run my own diary and I’m able to fit any pet care services around my current responsibilities. Although I don’t currently offer pet boarding services in my own home. I have a fenced garden and internal doors that allow for the front door to be separated from the main living area.

Cannot fault Rhea at all, she always does a fab job when she comes to check in on our Pips. Pippi has some extra needs now she’s at super senior status and I really appreciate the extra care and attention that Rhea gives her, without complaint. Communication is always great and we love to see the photo updates after each visit. Thank you as always Rhea, much appreciated 😸Xx

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
