“Oliwia has looked after my dog Betty twice now for day care. She is very patient with her, she takes her on long walks and looks after her really well. I would highly recommend her”

“Penny was a dream, when we needed support for George at very short notice.Penny made a very stressful situation much easier by being so easy and quick to communicate with. George has absolutely loved his day care with Penny , and had so many new socialisation experiences like walking on a retractable lead, walking with a dog buddy, playing with her children. He came home very happy and tired , and he seems so much calmer and confident in himself. We couldn't recommend Penny enough.”

About: I have loved animals my whole life and have grown up around pets, especially dogs. I have my own dog back home, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I’ve been caring for dogs for many years, helping friends, family, and neighbours with walking, feeding, bathing, and spending quality time with their dogs. I also have a twin brother that loves dogs as much as I do, so your dog will always have someone giving them attention and keeping them busy. We have also volunteered at a dog shelter, where we helped care for dogs of different sizes, breeds, ages and personalities. I’m currently studying at university, and caring for animals is something I truly enjoy alongside my studies. I’m patient, calm, and always make sure dogs feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I treat every dog as if it were my own and always follow the owner’s routine and instructions. Your dog will have the best time with us and will feel like home around us, in a safe, cozy environment. Pet care fits really well into my routine. I’m currently studying at university, which gives me a flexible schedule during the day and evenings. I enjoy spending my free time caring for animals, going on walks, playing, and keeping pets company. I’m happy to adjust to your pet’s routine and make sure they get the time, attention, and care they need. Your pet’s safety and comfort are very important to me. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully and stick to the pet’s usual routine. I keep a clean, calm, and safe environment and make sure pets are always supervised, especially during walks or playtime. I treat every pet with kindness and patience, making sure they feel secure, relaxed, and well cared for. My brother and I can make sure every pet feels like home!

About: I’ve looked after pets for 23 years, and animals have always been part of my everyday life. I live with Gizmo the pug, my permanent shadow who’s convinced my bed belongs to both of us and two cats who think they run the house. Because of that, I’m used to juggling different temperaments, routines, and a lot of personality. Friends, family, and neighbours have relied on me for walking, feeding, meds, bath time, and keeping their pets calm and comfortable. I notice the small things, keep a steady routine, and treat every dog as if they’re part of my own slightly chaotic, very loved little crew. I’m currently a SAHDM (if you know you know). I was made redundant in November so for the foreseeable my life is solely pet focussed I keep things steady, predictable, and low-stress. In my home, pets settle into a calm routine with regular walks, feeding times, and plenty of company. I have a large, secure garden for safe outdoor time, and Gizmo the pug usually acts as the welcoming committee. I manage introductions carefully so every animal feels comfortable. I supervise closely, keep spaces clean, and make sure each pet has its own quiet area to relax.

“Emily has looked after our golden retriever puppy a few times and she has been great. Always on time, providing photo updates, and our puppy seems to love the time spent with her. He's always excited to see her and comes home calm”

“Amazing with my dog Fendi I would highly recommend Jess as a dog sitter, updated me with messages and pictures throughout the day so I knew my dog was happy and settled also made me feel settled knowing Fendi was in a loving place with Jess will definitely be using Jess service again such a loving kind hearted dog sitter 🤍”

“fantastic communication from start to finish, Cass felt at home and ease from the minute he walked though the door. would absolutely recommend to anyone and will indeed use your services again. thank you for taking such good care of my old boy”

“Elspeth took Bracken out with two other dogs for a nice long walk and it’s really nice he got the activity/socialisation. Plenty of photos, which was good. He was anxious (he’s not used to being away from home) once back at her place but she used calming sorry and diffusers, which was really good of her.”

“Basil had a great time in Teodora’s care, we got regular updates and adorable photos. We ended up booking the following day as well! Basil was so tired when he came back after the lots of walks and playing fetch. 100% recommended her again!”

“Our little whippet can be a bit fussy, but she has taken to Caroline very quickly and has made her house a little ‘home from home’. Caroline is a natural with dogs and highly recommended by us!”

Dominika and her partner are a wonderful couple and they took great care of my boy Reggie. Reggie was very well looked after and settled extremely quickly in their home. He was given walks and unlimited cuddles with some playtime when he felt like it. I am so pleased. Dominika also keeps you very well updated and answers very promptly if you message. Thankyou so much again, Reggie is looking forward to seeing you both again soon :)

Thank you for taking good care of Toto. He looked happy at the end of his visit. I find it hard to leave him with people he doesnt know, as I worry that he might wonder what is going on, but seeing him after his stay has given me more assurance that he will be fine.

Delighted with Freya’s pet sitting service. She was happy to come to the house to look after 3 dogs when we were going for a long day out. She arrived early in readiness for the day ahead knowing we had a scheduled boat to catch. This is the first time using Rover and we couldn’t have had a better first experience. Freya is warm & friendly with a laid back, confident approach. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again and recommend her to others. Dogs were very happy & she even fixed the stair gate 😅. Thanks Freya!

Thanks ever so much Caroline. The more Jazmin comes to you, the better she is becoming, socially. You’re giving us a real sense of freedom that we have not had in our lives for around 2 & a half years, since we’ve had Jazmin. This jas improved the quality of our lives markedly, and it wouldn’t have been any where near as effective or as positive if we weren’t so confident in you and your skills - you are definitely a natural dog person with an instinctive knowledge of what to do with the best interests of the dog in question.

Megan is very experienced with looking after dogs, she demonstrated a good knowledge base and was confident with Bettys needs throughout the day. She had great facilities with a lovely big garden for her to use if needed. I had a very happy pup when I collected her and would happily leave her with Megan again. Highly recommend

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
