Pet care experience

A calm home-from-home in Southsea

Hi, I’m Emma. I got my first family dog (a spaniel) when I was five years old and have spent most of my life caring for spaniels and my own Cockapoo, Willow. I work from home, which means plenty of time for company, care and cuddles throughout the day. I know how important it is to feel completely confident when leaving your dog with someone else. Every dog I look after is treated as if they’re my own - lots of affection, attention to routine, and regular updates so you know they’re happy and safe. Helping dogs settle and regulate is at the heart of how I care for them. When a dog arrives, I prioritise decompression, usually with a gentle walk and plenty of space to take things in at their own pace. I’m very mindful of each dog’s emotional needs and advocate for them in the same way I would my own dog. My main objective is always to ensure your dog feels safe, settled and loved while they’re away from their usual home. What I Offer: - Calm, home-from-home dog boarding in a dog-friendly house with a secure garden - A structured settling-in process, including decompression walks and time to adjust at their own pace - Walks tailored to your dog’s energy levels and emotional needs (including beach walks when weather allows) - Enrichment toys / activities - Plenty of companionship throughout the day, as I work from home - Administration of basic medications if required - Regular photo and message updates so you can see how your dog is getting on Why Book With Me: - Lifelong experience caring for spaniels and my own Cockapoo - A calm, attentive approach focused on helping dogs feel settled, secure and relaxed - I advocate for each dog’s emotional needs in the same way I would my own - Working from home means your dog has company and supervision throughout the day - A peaceful environment only a short walk to the beach, ideal for seafront walks and fresh air Send me a message if you’d like to chat about your dog’s needs or arrange a meet-and-greet. I’d love to hear about your pup!

Wilder has a fab time - walks, adventures and playtime with Willow. It's lovely to find a place he's happy to visit and stay. He will be visiting again and will no doubt have a great time with Emma and her family

I’d definitely recommend Emma as a 5 star sitter and will definitely booking with her again. My dog Eric has just spent nearly 2 weeks with Emma whilst we’ve been on holiday and he’s definitely had a fabulous holiday of his own at her house. Emma kept me up to date with how Eric was getting on and also sent me lots of photos and videos of his adventures with her, her partner and her dog Willow. Eric and Willow got along so well and she’s very chilled with having another dog in her home, vying for her pawrents affections! Eric loves lots of attention, but generally more from humans and tends to be selective with his affection for other dogs, so it was lovely to see videos of him and Willow chasing each other and playing together and photos of them relaxing at home. I’m confident that Eric had a brilliant home from home holiday and Emma will definitely be my first choice of sitter

Emma is a fab sitter. I was drawn to her profile and as she also has a Cockapoo, I thought she’d understand his funny ways 😂 she was brilliant at replying back to me up until the trial night, and as soon as we met her I felt at ease. We went for a walk with her dog Willow first, then after our walk we dropped Eric off at her house and he immediately went off for a wander (a good sign he felt comfortable). Emma kept me up to date with pup dates and photos during his trial stay. He was already cuddled up with her after about 15 mins of being there and as soon as I saw her photo, I knew he’d made himself at home! (Followed by pictures of him and Willow on the bed). I’ve already booked for him to stay for a longer holiday period as I’m confident he’ll be well looked after and able to relax in her home.

Schedule

I currently work from home, so there will always be someone around. I usually take Willow out at lunchtime and in the evenings but can be flexible to whatever your dog needs.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 0-2 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I have a garden which is walled in that your pooch will be able to enjoy throughout the day. I can accommodate a crate if your dog likes to sleep in one, or more than happy for her/him to sleep wherever (s)he is most comfortable. No problem with dogs on the sofa/ beds if they are allowed at home and can be flexible to accommodate any requirements that will help keep up their normal routine as much as possible.

Pets

A typical day

I work from home, so your dog will have company and supervision all day. Mornings are relaxed with breakfast, toilet breaks and some play in the garden while I get a bit of work done. At lunchtime we head out for a short walk, often down to the beach for a change of scenery. Evenings are for our main walk, tailored to your dog’s energy level. At weekends we usually go for one longer adventure walk. In between there’s plenty of fuss, enrichment games and cuddles. I’ll also send regular photo updates so you can see how your dog’s getting on.
