“Ellie was absolutely amazing! Not only did she accept our booking last minute, she also organised a dog walk pre to the scheduled days to make sure our dogs would get on. She was clearing thinking of the well-being of her own dog and mine. She updated us with regular photos and videos and had fantastic communication throughout the days we requested. Would definitely re-book!”

About: As a dog owner and previous cat owner myself, I know our pets are family to us. I would treat yours like my own. I'm in my 50s so have decades of experience with pets, including training. I work from home and have a large garden near Staunton country park and lots of green areas. I would need to meet you and your furry friend before taking the booking so you can inform me on your routine and requirements. I would only take one booking at a time so your pet gets 100% of my attention. I work full time from home and take the weekends off. I am self employed so I am flexible with timings for walks, feeding, toilet breaks, etc. I have a large enclosed garden that is bricked fence and safe. My Cocker Spaniel lives with me. He is very friendly, follows me or sits under my desk. I feed him twice a day and walk regularly. It would be helpful if your dog is dog friendly although I can possibly get a sitter for my dog if yours isn't.
“Absolutely amazing care for my girl poppy from start to finish. I felt completely at ease knowing she was so well looked after, loved, and cared for as if she were their own. Regular updates and such a kind, reassuring approach. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will definitely be using them again. Thank you so much!”
“Megan is just the loveliest person. She clearly adore’s the dogs in her care and it shows. Loki-Bear had his second day care stay today and he was so happy to go off — a huge relief because he’s usually a very anxious boy. I can already see a lovely bond building. Couldn’t recommend Megan more!””

“Alice is very polite and accommodating and our dog was very happy to arrive at her house. He seemed to have a good day and Alice communicated well throughout and sent us photos and updates.”

“I left my separation anxiety prone dog Ruby with Eric for 5hours. Eric took control of her right from the start with a warm friendly welcome. Eric took her for a walk and sent a very nice video of her chasing her favourite ball. She then settled down and waited for mum to collect her. Thank you to Eric for looking after Ruby so nicely”

About: We’re a trustworthy, animal-loving couple with years of hands-on experience caring for our own pets. We’ve both previously owned dogs and currently share our home with three cats, so we understand the responsibility, patience, and attention that pets need to thrive. We understand that every pet is unique and deserves patience, kindness, and reliable care. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers a quieter environment, we will make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. We are both attentive to routines, follow instructions carefully, and will keep you updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. Our goal is to treat every pet as if they are our own and provide a positive, stress-free experience for both pets and their owners. I currently work part time with flexible hours and Jake works from home so there will always be at least one of us home at all time if not both of us. We’re lucky enough to have a great-sized, fully fenced and secure garden, as well as a spacious home. We welcome pets onto our sofa and furniture, so they can feel relaxed and at home during their stay. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are our top priorities. We understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and we treat every animal with the same care, love, and attention that we give our own pets. We always follow owners’ instructions regarding feeding, exercise, medication, and daily routines to help pets feel safe, secure, and comfortable while in our care.

“Thank you so much for looking after Marvin. We knew he would be happy and well looked after as he was so keen to go into your home when we dropped him off. The photo Alex sent me of Marvin settled allowed us to enjoy our evening without worrying if he was alright. Alex kept to Marvin's routine which meant he felt safe and secure. We would definitely recommend Alex. Marvin is hoping to seeing you again soon.”
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 10 – from energetic puppies to calm seniors. Neighbours, friends, and family have always relied on me to walk, feed, bathe, and look after their pets when they’re away, and I’ve loved every minute of it! What sets me apart is my small-scale approach: I only ever take one (or max two friendly) dog at a time, so your pup gets my full attention, plenty of play in a secure garden, cosy home comforts, regular walks, and lots of cuddles. I’ll send daily photos and updates to keep you smiling while you’re away. I’m patient, responsible and treat every dog like my own. Let’s do a free meet-and-greet so we all feel comfy – I can’t wait to meet your four-legged friend! 🐶 I’m working part-time from home, so I’m available all day on weekdays (from the morning onward) and fully flexible on weekends for boarding, day care, walks, and playtime. This means I can give your pup constant attention, regular outings, and plenty of cuddles without any rush – perfect for relaxed, personalised care. Whether it’s an early drop-off or a full day at home, I’m here and ready! Just let me know what works best for you and your dog 🐶 care for dogs in my cosy, secure home in Emsworth – a quiet, fenced garden for safe play and exercise, plus comfy indoor spaces with beds, toys, and plenty of room to relax. I keep numbers small (usually one dog at a time, max two friendly ones) so everyone gets individual attention and no overcrowding. Safety is top priority: fully vaccinated dogs only, secure gates/doors, no toxic plants/foods around, and I supervise closely (especially with my work-from-home setup). I do free meet-and-greets first to check compatibility, ask about routines/behaviors, and build trust. Daily photo updates keep owners in the loop – your pup will feel right at home! 😊

About: Animals have always been a very important part of my life, especially dogs. I grew up with Spaniels and have developed a good understanding of the care, attention and commitment they need at every stage of life — from energetic puppies to older dogs needing extra patience and support. Over the past few years, I have been providing local dog day care, boarding and walking services, and I absolutely love what I do. Caring for dogs is something I’m truly passionate about, and I take great pride in providing a safe, happy and loving environment where they can feel comfortable and cared for. I work from home so there is always company for your dog. I take our Spaniel out twice a day and offer walks tailored to suit your dog’s individual needs, whether they enjoy a gentle stroll, an energetic adventure, or something in between. I have a secure, fenced garden where dogs can safely explore, relax and enjoy some outdoor time at their own pace. My home is open and welcoming, giving dogs the freedom to settle where they feel most comfortable and feel truly part of the family while they are in my care.

Emily looked after my Golden Retriever for the day. He was very well cared for, walked and given a huge amount of cuddles and love! I was kept informed of their play date with photos and videos throughout the day, which was lovely. She was a great dog carer and I knew Chester would be safe and happy with her. Will definitely use Emily again.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Havant commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.
Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
