“Maria looked after our dog, Bronson, from 11/06/2026 to 28/06/2026, and we couldn't have been happier with the care she provided. From the very beginning, Maria's communication was exceptional. She sent regular, detailed updates throughout Bronson's stay, along with lots of photos, which gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to see how happy and settled he was. Bronson settled in incredibly quickly and was clearly made to feel like part of the family. It was obvious that Maria genuinely cared for him and took the time to understand his needs. As Bronson is currently recovering from an ongoing injury, Maria was fantastic at supporting him with short, slow walks and ensuring he wasn't overdoing it, while still getting the exercise and attention he needed. If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
