About: I grew up in the countryside with a large menagerie of animals and then went into pet sitting. I have several regular clients who book me on repeat every year because I provide a great level of care for their pets. Genuine animal lover and love getting out and about in the countryside with a four legged friend or 3. Fun, fresh air and snuggles guaranteed. I work from home and I'm self employed which means I'm free to go for walkies whenever it's needed and I'm always with your pet to keep them company. I have a home educated daughter who is a real animal lover and has grown up pet sitting with me since she was a few months old. We both love to get out and about in the countryside and love the company of a dog or two on our rambles. We know the area well and always seek out great dog walks and places for them to play. I have a fenced garden and a warm, cosy home where pets can hop onto the bed or sofas for cuddles. I live on the edge of the countryside so only 5 minutes walk before we reach open fields, hills and streams for playtime. I have been pet sitting for many years and always take impeccable care of their homes and pets.
“Robert has just had by beagle Bart for a long weekend. Not sure he really wanted to come home when I got there. Great service and a lovely family atmosphere. I’ve already booked again for August. Thank you for taking good care of me boy 🐶”

“Charlie was very well looked after by Fraser and his wife. She was settled and happy and she appeared to have made herself very much at home and from the photos, enjoyed herself thoroughly. I would definitely recommend using Fraser and we will be booking again in the future. Thank you so much for taking such good care of our little girl.”

“Rachel and Buster have been great with Toby . Lots of communication and funny updates and photos . Rachel has a great understanding of dogs and is a lighthearted warm carer … thank you”

“Aleksandra was great at keeping me updated so I never felt I had to worry about how things were going. It seems our boy had a great time and was well looked after. Would use again.”

About: I’ve had dogs since I was 11 and have been responsible for their training. I am happy to give any medication or adapt any walks/stays for your dogs needs. I currently work from home for the majority of the time. I can take your dog for walks when needed and have my own dog who loves other dogs. I have a very friendly dog for company for your pup. I live by a woods for nice walks and have experience with different behaviours and can do whatever is best for your pup.
“Looked after our dog Frank for the weekend Absolutely brilliant, kept us updated with photos He seemed like he had a great time, would 100% recommend and will be booking again, thank you!! X”

“Zack looked after Dylan for 10 days and honestly went above and beyond. He kept in touch with me every single day with updates and photos, which made such a difference — I always felt completely reassured that Dylan was happy and settled. When Dylan came home he was super relaxed, calm, and clearly very comfortable in Zack’s care. It genuinely felt like he’d had a proper home‑away‑from‑home experience. Dylan has quite a few quirks and can be a very strong dog who gets nervous in new situations, but Zack handled everything with real experience and confidence. He understood Dylan’s personality straight away and gave him the patience, structure, and calm environment he needs. It’s not easy to find someone who can manage a dog like Dylan so well, and I’m incredibly grateful. We can’t wait to book with Zack again — highly recommended.”

“Liz looked after our young dog Bonnie whilst we were away for a weekend. She did an amazing job of entertaining Bonnie and getting her on some cooler morning walks, as it was super hot! She gave us regular updates on how Bonnie was doing and sent some lovely photos too. Would definitely recommend Liz!”

“Very caring towards my senior dog. Excellent communication whilst on walks and sleeps. They really took extra care as Picasso has his additional needs and I am very grateful. Thank you I would highly recommend”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Mendip
After one day of day care to help familiarise our labradoodle Isla with Rachel and her dog Buster, we left her boarding with them for two days. As Isla was already familiar with the environment, she appeared to settle quickly and we appreciated that Rachel was keen to keep to Isla's normal routines where possible. We could see from the photos she provided that Isla was enjoying her stay, particularly the regular and frequent walks (more I think than she has at home). We had absolutely no concerns arising from the two days boarding and we are totally relaxed at the thought of further visits. Thank you Rachel and Buster.
This was our second time using Karen, Trevor, and Dottie, and once again the service was outstanding. It was immediately clear from our first meeting that both Karen and Trevor love animals, and I knew that Judas would be well looked after. During both stays, Karen sent photos and videos of Judas, which were lovely to see. I would recommend Karen over and over again. Thank you both for your incredible care 🙏

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
