“Very caring towards my senior dog. Excellent communication whilst on walks and sleeps. They really took extra care as Picasso has his additional needs and I am very grateful. Thank you I would highly recommend”

About: Hi, I’m Catharine, a Lancashire lass now living in Weston-super-Mare with my partner, Tom. We’re both huge animal lovers and would love to look after your pet 🐾 We live in a detached house with a secure, fully fenced garden, and because we both work from home, your pet will have plenty of company, attention, and cuddles throughout the day. We don’t currently have pets (or children!) of our own as we’re still settling into our first home after recently moving. We’d love a pet of our own one day, but for now we’re more than happy being the people friends and family call when they need someone to look after theirs. We genuinely love having animals around the house. I’ve been animal mad for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always surrounded by dogs and cats, but my soul dog, Sandie, was extra special. He lived to the amazing age of 19 and was a huge part of my family. We had an especially close bond in his senior years when he became less mobile and relied on me a lot for comfort. Caring for him taught me so much about patience, empathy, and understanding an animal’s individual needs. I’ve done obedience training and even dog dancing with one of my previous dogs, so I’m comfortable with all sorts of personalities, routines, and energy levels. Our home is very peaceful, and we do our best to make every pet feel relaxed and safe. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing in the garden, or snoozing on the sofa after a busy day, they’ll get plenty of love and attention while they’re with us. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else. I promise to care for them as if they were my own and to make sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well looked after from the moment they arrive. Please don’t hesitate to message me if you have questions :) I can adapt to your dog’s usual routine to help them feel comfortable and settled. I work from home and can be quite flexible with my work. When caring for pets in my home, I make sure they have a safe, calm and comfortable environment where they feel part of the family. We have a secure garden for supervised outdoor time, and dogs will receive plenty of attention, affection, playtime and walks throughout the day. I always follow owners’ routines and preferences to help pets feel settled and at home.

“We were so pleased to find Zak, and him and Theo really seemed to get on right from the initial meeting. The consistent photos and messages we received from Zak while we were away really put us at ease, knowing that Theo was enjoying himself - spending most of his time snoozing from the sounds of it! We'll definitely be booking Theo in to stay with Zak again soon :)”

“Absolutely amazing! We could not ask for anything more. So welcoming from the moment we met them ! Tess had a great time we were sent some beautiful photos Wonderful people! Would recommend to everyone”

About: !!!IMPORTANT: I’ll have bathroom renovations in July. If your dog(s) is sensitive to noises, please do not book! Thank you!:) Hi! I’ve had dogs and cats since I was 7 years old, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I moved from Hungary to the UK in October 2025, and after our dog left in December, the house has felt very empty without a pet around. Although I became an engineer, I always loved spending time with animals, and back home friends often trusted me to look after their cats while they were away. I’m calm, reliable, patient, and currently have plenty of free time for walks, visits, playtime, and giving your pets lots of attention and care. I work from home full-time, so I’m available for pet care all day long. I can easily adjust to your dog’s schedule for walks, playtime, meals, and cuddles. I’m also happy to do overnight boarding or weekend stays whenever needed. I have a fully fenced yard and a safe, pet-friendly home where your dog would spend most of the time inside with me. The house is calm and secure, and I can crate your dog if needed. Playtime is always supervised in the fenced garden.
“Charlotte was amazing at looking after Lucy. We received plenty of photos and updates on how she was doing and how at home she made herself! Would not hesitate to book up with Charlotte again. Thank you!”

“Gracie was super helpful and flexible with a short notice emergency booking for my dogs, even going so far as to help find care for them when she was already prebooked. She and her partner looked after them so lovingly and kept me updated throughout. They also managed the medication without difficulty. The dogs showed no sign of their normal anxiety at being left and are happily home again now having had a lovely holiday with their new friends. I am super grateful”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I genuinely love getting to know each dog’s unique personality and routine. Since welcoming my rescue dog, Bonnie, into my life in 2022, I’ve gained valuable experience with reactive and anxious dogs, as well as strong lead pullers. I’ve also been looking after dogs for friends and family since my early teenage years, and since starting on Rover in September 2025, I’ve cared for a variety of dogs with different personalities and needs. This has made me confident with a wide range of temperaments, from energetic and playful, to nervous or cautious dogs who need a calmer approach. What sets me apart is the care and attention I give to every dog as an individual. I’m patient, reliable, and confident reading dog body language, which helps me adapt to their needs and make them feel safe and comfortable. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, reassurance, or lots of cuddles, I’ll make sure they’re happy, well cared for, and sticking to their usual routine while keeping you updated along the way. I work full-time but mostly from home, which gives me a lot of flexibility to fit pet care into my routine. I’m usually in the office just one day a week (typically a Wednesday), so I’m available anytime the remaining weekdays with the flexibility of my working hours at home. Weekends are also fairly flexible for me, and I’ll always keep my schedule up to date if anything changes. Whatever the ask, I’ll make sure your pet’s needs fit smoothly into my day so they get reliable care and attention. Please note, drop-in visits and dog walks within 5 miles of my home (Sandford, BS25) are included in my standard rates. For locations beyond 5 miles, a 50p per mile travel fee applies to the additional distance to cover my fuel which I will manually add to your booking request. When caring for pets, their safety and comfort are always my top priorities. In a pet parent’s home, I make sure to follow their usual routines closely, from feeding times to walks and play, so pets feel secure and settled. I keep doors and gates safely closed, pay attention to any special needs like reactivity, and always respect the home as if it were my own. I also believe trust is built through communication, so I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know how your pet is doing. In my own home, I have my rescue dog Bonnie, who is friendly and playful once introduced properly but can show an excitable-anxious reactivity on first meetings with other dogs. Rest assured, Bonnie has never shown any aggression or biting behaviour towards another animals. Because of this, any dogs staying with us would need an introduction beforehand to make sure everyone feels comfortable and safe. Once settled, Bonnie loves to play and share her space. However, I’m not able to offer care for cats in my own home, as Bonnie isn’t suited to living with them. My goal is always to create a safe, calm, and happy environment where pets feel at ease, whether I’m visiting them in their own home or welcoming them into mine.
“Skye had a great time with Nick. Lots of lovely walks and play time. I had updates everyday which is reassuring as it was the first we had left her for a week. Would definitely recommend Nick Skye was so well looked after and settled in very well.”

“Thank you Joanna for looking after our dog so beautifully. We will definitely book with you again. We also appreciated to pictures of Lola looking super happy out on a walk 😍😍”

“Tracey and Simon looked after our boy Buddy for a few days while we were away. It was a last minute booking as we'd been let down by family, so we were a little nervous as first time Rover users. Tracey and Simon put us at ease immediately. They have a real passion for dogs and were super understanding of Buddy's character and background. They made sure he was safe and loved the whole time he was there. We had daily videos and photos which we loved! Most importantly, Buddy settled in like he was part of their family and absolutely loved staying with them. We won't look anywhere else now for Buddy's holidays! We've found his people and trust them 100% with our boy. Thank you Tracey and family for loving our boy and taking such great care of him.”

This is the second time that Mollie has looked after my dog Misty she is absolutely brilliant loads of photos and updates. I couldn’t ask for a nicer person to look after my dog. I have already booked her in for a third time and will always use Mollie in the future. .

We were very happy with our dogs' stay with Sarah, more importantly, the dogs were too! We were doubtful if they would want to return home rather than stay with Sarah! We think they were treated exceptionally well, a little spoilt in fact. We also really appreciated the photos and comments Sarah sent to us whilst were were away. No doubt we should want to use Sarah's services again!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
