Gillian is a godsend, she looked after our puppy whilst we were on holiday at a music festival - nothing was too much trouble, not only did she visit and take good care of her, but she went over and above, agreeing to extra visits at the last minute and even turned down the heating when we accidentally left the house a bit too hot for our pup. Cannot recommend her highly enough.

Christine helped us out a lot in June with our dog and she was amazing with Annie! She always seemed super content when we got home and all the little reports we got were so sweet, we could tell Annie was loving it! Thanks so much for being so fab and accomodating too. Highly recommend!

About: Hellooo I’m Phoebe, I’m a qualified veterinary surgeon and starting a new role which means I’ll have some days off during the week and weekend. I grew up at a child minders who also had a pet sitting service, so from a young age have looked after anything from hamsters and tortoises to large-breed dogs. I have my own dog and tortoise who I adore! As a vet, I’m comfortable with giving medications at home and following your pet’s routine as closely as possible! I have an attention to detail and am more than happy to give you regular updates and photos. I’ve been working as a vet now for 2 years and starting a new role this summer! I have my own tortoise and dog who I adore. In my new role at work my shifts are constantly changing, which means available dates are not regular. But we can have a chat about what you and your pet need and work out a plan from there! On weekdays I can possibly do drop ins before and after work for cats, so just drop me a message to check dates that aren’t available on my calendar. I believe all pets are different in terms of what they need when their pet parents are away or busy. Sometimes this is a change of environment and other times it’s home stays. Unfortunately since I am in rented accommodation I cannot provide overnight stays, but I can walk dogs and do drop ins for a variety of pets. I can also house sit during the day. Due to my own pet responsibilities, overnight house sitting is not ideal.

Wow! Carrie was so brilliant! She’s so lovely and was able to help us out last minute after being let down by someone else. She cared for our Leo so well and sent regular updates and pictures, which made us feel so at ease. She went above and beyond to make Leo’s care perfect. We would absolutely highly recommend her and book with her again!

About: Hi, I’m Catharine, a Lancashire lass now living in Weston-super-Mare with my partner, Tom. We’re both huge animal lovers and would love to look after your pet 🐾 We live in a detached house with a secure, fully fenced garden, and because we both work from home, your pet will have plenty of company, attention, and cuddles throughout the day. We don’t currently have pets (or children!) of our own as we’re still settling into our first home after recently moving. We’d love a pet of our own one day, but for now we’re more than happy being the people friends and family call when they need someone to look after theirs. We genuinely love having animals around the house. I’ve been animal mad for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always surrounded by dogs and cats, but my soul dog, Sandie, was extra special. He lived to the amazing age of 19 and was a huge part of my family. We had an especially close bond in his senior years when he became less mobile and relied on me a lot for comfort. Caring for him taught me so much about patience, empathy, and understanding an animal’s individual needs. I’ve done obedience training and even dog dancing with one of my previous dogs, so I’m comfortable with all sorts of personalities, routines, and energy levels. Our home is very peaceful, and we do our best to make every pet feel relaxed and safe. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing in the garden, or snoozing on the sofa after a busy day, they’ll get plenty of love and attention while they’re with us. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else. I promise to care for them as if they were my own and to make sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well looked after from the moment they arrive. Please don’t hesitate to message me if you have questions :) I can adapt to your dog’s usual routine to help them feel comfortable and settled. I work from home and can be quite flexible with my work. When caring for pets in my home, I make sure they have a safe, calm and comfortable environment where they feel part of the family. We have a secure garden for supervised outdoor time, and dogs will receive plenty of attention, affection, playtime and walks throughout the day. I always follow owners’ routines and preferences to help pets feel settled and at home.

About: Since a young age both Fra and myself have cared for animals. We both had cats and dogs in our homes since birth and have looked after them with utmost care and attention. In our adult years we have taken house sitting seriously and have cared for several homes and a variety of pets. From dogs and cats, to lizards, frogs and guineapigs, we've cared for them all. Pet care takes priority when it comes to our weekly routines. We have various jobs and hobbies, yet we are very flexible and can usually cater to the needs of the animals are the requests of the pet owner. We always take the pets care requirements into consideration. Most pets will require different attention and we make sure to provide what is required. Whether it's walking, feeding, washing or general health care, we have the experience and understanding to provide great pet care.

About: Being a final year vet student, I have extensive experience of taking care of dogs of all ages and various breeds. I have a great knowledge of canine behaviour, developed from first hand experience working in vet practices and from various lectures by canine behaviour specialists. This makes me the perfect person to look after your much loved pet! Additionally, I already have dog sitting experience. I spent lots of time last summer looking after my neighbour's adorable dog Indy. I have owned dogs all my life. I'm currently the proud owner of three gorgeous Labradors- Henry, Bella, and Phoebe. They're my fur babies and my life truly revolves around them- I'm obsessed! In my spare time, I enjoy taking them on walks and exploring the beautiful Cotswolds. I'm currently completing placements in local vet practices during the week, so will be available from 5pm onwards on week days. My availability is extremely flexible at the weekends. I have my own car and love to drive, so am available to travel to pick your pet up for walks or to call in to check on them whilst you're away. I'm happy to keep in touch through messages (to include pictures of your dog!).

Ann helped me out after my usual dog sitter let me down at the last minute. She made time to come round and meet my dog the night before and I felt very reassured that my dog would be in good hands with her. She turned up on time and sent me lots of updates. I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again. Thank you Anne.

Ashleigh did an amazing job with Pops. She came to meet him beforehand which allowed Pops to get to know her a bit. This was really helpful and gave me an opportunity to explain his little sausage dog ways. She also let me know how he was doing while she was there and sent pictures which I really appreciated. Thanks so much Ashleigh. Really hoping Pops gets to see you again soon 😊

In recent years I have house sat and walked a range of dogs from small to larger breeds. I have a good amount of experience with nervous and anxious dogs and I have worked with five rescues personally on a regular basis. I am particularly experienced with sighthounds, cockapoos, and chihuahuas. I have a general passion for animals and enjoy working and donating to a range of charities. I would treat any dog or cat like its my own with plenty of love and attention to give. I am happy to meet the requirements no matter how big or small to give you and your pet what they need. I am self employed so therefore I can be flexible with my schedule. My partner is normally on hand to help if required and give extra attention to any pets under my care. There are 1,102 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in North Somerset. About 92% of North Somerset sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
