“Second time using Ying’s services after a long week away from my cat - and she fills me with such reasurrence. Highly recommend and will ask for her services again! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟”

“Ieva stopped by for another bonding session with our "difficult" Rommie rescue Toni. She is wonderfully patient with him and understands his reactive behaviour is him being a terrified old boy because of his troubled history. She takes the time to learn his boundaries and is very good at asserting her boundaries too. Toni was even offering his paw and listening to her recall commands, and this was just the 2nd session of bonding. Long may this continue up until and beyond our vacation in June, where Ieva has provisionally agreed to house sit Toni and his cat sister Zora.”

About: I am an experienced and reliable pet-sitter who has always loved taking care of my own and other people's pets - I have always owned dogs. I have looked after dogs, cats and rabbits of all ages for my family and friends, so anything from pups and kittens to seniors are not a problem for me :) Playing with dogs and cats is always the best part of taking care of them, so I am completely comfortable with high and low energy pets! I also love exploring nature walks in and around Newport, and would love to bring your dog along with me! I am currently a university student and am missing my little pets so much, so I would love to walk and take care of yours, and have plenty of time to do so! I currently cannot board any pets, but I would love to walk, drop-in, or house-sit, making sure they are comfortable and well looked after. Being a university student means I have lots of time to care for and walk your pets! Even during term-time, I can adjust my schedule in order to care for the pets appropriately, and am always free to take your dogs on their favourite walks. I am happy to house-sit or drop in according to your boundaries and preferences! I am able to take care of anything from pups to senior pets, and try to adapt my schedule to the pets'. I love to know everything about the pets I take care of, like their favourite foods, toys, and activities. I love knowing the dogs' favourite routes or places for their walks, to make sure they have loads of fun and are tuckered out by home time!
“We have been using Aimee for a couple of weeks now, and she’s been nothing short of amazing with our two little babies! Keeps us updated with pics and gives us a little message on how their day went. Very thorough with what dates she can do, and lets us know well in advance days she can’t do. Thank you so much Aimee for looking after our little ones.”

“Mel is absolutely excellent with our Cat Monty! He is always well cared for and Mel sends wonderful updates throughout her visits so we are always up to date with how our boy is without us! When we get home it is always clear to see that he has been very happy with Mel looking after him and we will always re-book Mel when we can! Thank you Mel for being great! 😊”

“Claudia was lovely l. She answered any questions I had and replied quickly to my messages. She sent regular photos and updates when visiting. My cat loved her. I would definitely use her again and would recommend. Thanks Claudia !”

About: Me and my partner have always been huge animal lovers, and we’ve got plenty of hands-on experience caring for pets every single day. We’re lucky to have a much-loved member of our family, Buddy, who is very friendly and playful, and we’ve both grown up with animals around us, so we’re very comfortable caring for pets and understanding their different personalities and needs. We treat every pet as if they’re our own, making sure they get lots of walks, playtime, cuddles, and reassurance. We know how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone else, so our goal is always to make sure your pet feels happy, loved, and settled — and that you can enjoy complete peace of mind while you’re away. Because I work from home, pet care fits naturally and easily into my daily routine, and me and my partner are around throughout the day. This means I can offer constant companionship, which is especially comforting for nervous pets who don’t like being left alone. Being home most of the time also allows for regular toilet breaks, flexible feeding times, and walks whenever your dog needs them — whether that’s early mornings, midday strolls, or extra outings for dogs who need a little more support. Our routine is very adaptable, so we’re more than happy to follow your dog’s usual schedule and any special requests. Your dog will never be left alone and will always have plenty of attention, supervision, and care throughout the day. Buddy is also at home, providing friendly company and helping visiting dogs feel more settled and at ease. This flexibility allows us to focus fully on your dog’s comfort, happiness, and wellbeing, helping them feel relaxed, cared for, and right at home during their stay. We live in a three-bedroom house with plenty of space for dogs to relax, play, and feel at home. We also have a lovely, fully fenced garden, so dogs can safely enjoy time outside, have a run around, or just potter about in the fresh air. Inside, our home is very relaxed and dog-friendly. Pets are treated as part of the family and are welcome to be wherever we are — on the sofa, in the bedroom, or curled up nearby. We don’t have any “off-limits” areas, and we want every dog to feel comfortable and settled from the moment they arrive. Our aim is to create a calm, safe, home-from-home environment where your dog can truly relax and enjoy their stay.

“Megan was wonderful with Jarvis. She kept me updated throughout with regular photos and messages, which was really reassuring. Jarvis is a nervous cat, but he was comfortable enough around Megan to let her give him his medication, which as a cat with epilepsy is really important. Would recommend her and would happily book again. Thank you Meg 😊”

“Hannah made us feel so reassured our cat was safe and in good hands a followed our fussy food instructions perfectly. Our cat is normally timid around new people but took a liking to Hannah straight away and we know this because she only ‘boops’ strangers hands with her nose for scritches when she likes and trusts you. Hannah kept us updated with photos and videos and we could tell from our cats behaviour she was happy to see Hannah. We would highly recommend Hannah and will continue to book her in future.”

“Krisztina was amazing! She came and attended to my cats as booked but went above and beyond when my cats tipped over their water bowl later in the week and it needed sorting. She was there within the hour to sort. 100% the best. Reliable, caring and trustworthy. Thank you! xx”

About: I've taken care of animals from dogs, cats and hamsters and each animal has been very spoilt as I have a lot of love to give to these precious creatures. I'm always available 6 days a week to look after my friends or families dogs/ cats and have catered to each animals needs. I've always been an animal lover and have grown up with both cats and dogs and have bought my own cats a soon as I've moved out. I work from home which means I am flexible throughout the day and I can walk your dog whenever you need me too. No hassle no fuss. You can be assured that when your pet returns, that they will return very happy. They may return with a new toy or a few treats :) If you are enable to travel, I am willing to travel to you and walk your furry friend around your area, equally I can take them back to my area and walk them. I plan on providing for each furry friend what he or she enjoys the best. For example if your dog loves playing fetch, well do that, if your dog loves going on a run with their hooman, we'll do that, does your dog like to go for a swim? We'll do that. I'm all about putting the care, needs and safety of your dog first. I know parks can be full of bikes and scooters too but I want to assure you that I'm always aware of this as my own dog loves to bark and would possibly chase them if she were allowed so I'm always on the look out for them. I highly recommend not booking me on very hot days as I do not want burn their little paws on the hot path. I do have a portable water bowl to bring on each walk incase they get thirsty. When I walk my own dogs, I usually keep them on a short lead (whilst near roads) untill I get to the park/ field where either is safe enough to either let them off the lead or extend the lead so they have a bit more freedom. I live very close to a few vets so you never need to worry if anything were to go wrong. I have actually taken stray dogs/ my friends dogs to the vets to get seen when there was something wrong.

About: I have a spoilt pooch of my own. I also grew up with dogs and cats. I am passionate about all animal care, so I have been volunteering at a zoo for the last 2 years. Previous kennels worker. I will look after your pet like they are my own. I am currently employed, but message me to find out how I can schedule you in. I am free every evening and Sunday, any other time please feel free to contact me. I have a large fenced garden which is secure. I am always careful when entering or leaving a property, so to make sure pets are safe.
About: I’ve grown up with animals and have never lived without one! I regularly dog/cat sit for my grandparents as they go away quite a few times a year. I also have a beautiful border collie named Nala, who I pride myself in taking care of! I work part time but am fully flexible with when I can do drop in visits and walks as I only work 5 hour shifts. I live near multiple big fields where there is plenty of room for your dogs to roam free and explore for themselves whilst getting all the exercise they need! I live in a very sociable area so your dog will get plenty of needed social time, however there are also plenty of areas around where I can go for a quiet walk if needed.
“Hayley answered my message and agreed to pop in to check in on Merlin at super short notice. She wasn't phased by the added complexity of having two extra dogs in the house - adding a puppy doberman and a grumpy border terrier to my own dobie. She quickly earnt trust with my dog and has popped in to feed and let him out for a wee on multiple occasions, which was an absolute godsend to me when I had to work away at short notice. I'd recommend Hayley to anyone who needs a reliable and friendly face to look after their pooches.”

About: I’m an insured and dbs checked dog walker. I worked in a dog groomers so have experience with all breeds of dogs. I had 2 fur babies of my own until recently, sadly they are no longer with me. I believe all dogs should have the run of the house and be treated like family because they are! I’d look after your fur baby like they are my own. I currently work around the school times mostly then once school runs are done I work until evening time. This is everyday apart from weekend, where I am free to look after pets anytime. I have an enclosed garden with a high wall. I would take dogs out for walks twice a day unless otherwise requested or is is too hot. Dogs are allowed the full run of the house and can even sleep on the bed if they wish too. I believe there are part of the family so they get treated exactly like that here. Lots of cuddles, fuss and playtime are given

Sian was an excellent cat sitter, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. She was kind, reliable, and clearly cared about my cats. Throughout the stay she kept me updated with messages and lovely photos, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. When I returned home, my cats were relaxed, happy, and well looked after. It was clear they had been given plenty of attention and care. Thank you, Sian, for taking such wonderful care of them—I would be delighted to book with you again in the future!

First time using someone to look after our 6 cats that wasnt family. So a bit anxious at first. But needn't have worried, Dominika sent regular photos of them playing and they all looked happy, which was a huge relief. Even Jasmine, the more nervous of the group came out from her hiding spot for fuss. Thank you so much for looking after our babies, would definitely use again and highly recommended

Amazing service! Ana kept me informed every day and wrote detailed accounts of my cats and what they had been up to with photos to match. The process of discussing my cats and their care/schedules was super simple. I’d 100% recommend Ana if you’re looking for an exceptional cat sitter.

Thank you so much to Krisztina for taking such wonderful care of my little cat, Elaf. She kept me updated after every visit with photos and messages about how he was doing, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Elaf was clearly comfortable and well looked after. I will definitely be using your services again — thank you!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
