“We were very nervous about leaving Purdy with a total stranger, but Michelle was very good with her and she settled down well after the first day or two. She kept us informed with daily pictures and messages so we could see Purdy was quite happy. If we ever need a dog sitter again we would definitely come back to Michelle.”

“From the moment we met Janie & Derek at our meet & greet we knew they would be brilliant with our 11 yr old boarder collie. This was confirmed when he didn't want to leave them! They provided him with love & care & a huge box of toys, which he was extremely happy about. Janie kept us up to date throughout his stay with loads of pictures. He had a wonderful stay & he can't wait for his next holiday.”

“Our Autumn 🍂 went to mels today , she was so spoilt and was treated like their baby .. 3 walks today abd even went to Pets at Home and mel bought her a toy .. Autumn has fallen in lucky with mel and im so blessed with findin mel, and her gorgeous husband josh ❤️”

“I was a bit worried about leaving Myloe but he seemed at home at the meet and greet and when we dropped him off. Judging by the photos he seemed to enjoy himself especially with the children. However as Myloe is quite sensitive he did stress as he rarely away from at least one of us and had several accidents. Full marks to Amy who took everything in her stride and let us know how things were going. Thanks Amy for looking after him, trying to destress him and what probably felt like endless mopping up. Myloe came back happy from his holiday and we felt reassured he was being looked after well”

“Fritha was fantastic. She looked after Lizzy so well even letting Izzy sleep on her bed because she seemed anxious. She sent us photos that she took on walks and at home to reassure us that Izzy was fine. I would not hesitate to use Fritha in the future.”

“Really lovely first experience leaving our little obie with someone else. Communication was fantastic, received regular updates and pictures of how they were getting on.Obie enjoyed and we are very grateful.”

“Georgia was brilliant with Woody! Over the past few days he’s had the best time playing with her lovely dog, Smol, and going on plenty of walks. It was clear from the updates that he was happy, well cared for, and treated like one of her own. Georgia went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and entertained, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with her again, highly recommended!”

“Crystal took fantastic care of Archie, and it was clear he really enjoyed his stay. He settled in quickly, and we appreciated the regular updates that kept us reassured. She looked after him especially well during the heatwave, managing his love of sunbathing with great care. We wouldn’t hesitate to have him stay with her again.”

“Another great experience with Rupert. He once again looked after our Sprocker for the weekend. Siencyn now loves going to Rupert’s as he’s best friends with his dog Cali! Rupert communicated well with updates and pictures throughout the day. We now book in regularly as Siencyn loves his stay so much!!!”

About: Hi! I work from home fulltime and share my space with a playful, well behaved miniature poodle who loves making new furry friends. I've lived with animals my entire life from stick insects and chinchillas to rabbits and cats so I understand that every pet has unique needs, quirks, and comforts. Whether it’s cuddles, playtime, or calm companionship your pet needs, I offer a safe, loving, and attentive environment. Your pet will be cared for like one of my own with patience, experience, and a genuine passion for animals. I work from home most days of the week, which means your pet will have constant company and care throughout the day. My miniature poodle is a friendly, well-socialised pup who loves to play and share his toys. With a beautiful park right on our doorstep, regular walks, fresh air, and playtime are all part of our daily routine — perfect for keeping pets happy, active, and relaxed. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a secure, fully fenced garden for safe outdoor time and a cosy, pet friendly home where they’ll be treated like part of the family. My miniature poodle, Luna, is playful, sociable, and always happy to welcome a new friend. Pets are welcome on the sofa (just like Luna!), but I’ll always follow your rules and routines to make sure your pet feels right at home

“Anna and family were brillisnt with our anxious dog Coco. They really put her at ease, provided lots of exercise and regular updates. She even had some free professional photographs. I will definitely be using Anna again.”

“I honestly can’t thank Lucy and her family enough. This was a very last minute booking due to my partner needing surgery with only three days’ notice. I contacted Lucy on the Friday, we arranged a meet and greet on the Saturday, and Bella stayed Sunday and Monday night. The whole process was smooth and reassuring from start to finish. Lucy has a beautiful home with a lovely big garden, and her husband Luke and their two children are all so sweet and kind. Bella was walked twice a day by Luke and was clearly very well cared for throughout her stay. Lucy followed all my requests, including allowing Bella to sleep upstairs in her crate just as she does at home. I also received photo updates and messages, which really put me at ease during such a stressful time. Bella definitely made herself at home snuggling up on the sofa with Lucy in the evenings ❤️ When I collected Bella, she was happy, content and completely comfortable with Lucy — which says everything. I will definitely use Lucy again and I’m so grateful for everything she and her family did for us. Thank you so much 🥰”

“Buster thoroughly enjoyed his stay with Karen. Had not left him before I was apprehensive but Karen done a marvellous job looking after him. This has left me very confident and will definitely use Karen again.”

“Amanda was absolutely fantastic and I couldn’t recommend her highly enough. She is a very kind, warm and caring person who took excellent care of our two Jack Russells. Will definitely be using her services again. Nel and Daisy thoroughly enjoyed their stay!”

“IF YOU SEE THIS, STOP SCROLLING AND BOOK WITH RACHA. She'll love your dog better than you do 😂😍 I've booked with her 4-5 times now and literally adjusted my travel plans to make sure my dog could stay with Racha 💛”

“Woody had the best week with Rachel and Mario! They were so kind and welcoming at our meet and greet and even though I was nervous leaving Woody for the first time they really took their time and built up trust with him as he can be nervous. I had updates, pictures and videos every day and this made me and my children feel so much better knowing Woody was safe and happy and having a lovely time. It was lovely to see him enjoying his time and building a lovely relationship with them both and enjoying the cuddles, walks and playtime 🥰 couldnt recommend them enough!! Thank you so so much for taking care of my fur baby x”

Oliver was fantastic with nelly. Gave me updates and photos and treated her like family. I wasn't stressed at all knowing she was in safe hands. When we picked Nelly up she was happy and content and you could see she was really fond of Oliver. I will definately be using Oliver for all future holidays and feel it's the perfect place for Nelly.
Sophie and her partner looked after our 3month old, and 6month old puppies for 6 days and nights. They both had a wonderful time- I didn't need to worry at all about leaving them which was my concern as they are so young and first time away. I was very comfortable and was recieving regular updates and pictures. I will definitely be using her again in future. Their 2 dogs were lovely and provided much entertainment and socialisation for my pups. It is such a relief to have found someone I can trust and rely on to provide the care they need. I don't live locally to Sophie but I'd happily drive the 45mins there and back again, knowing that are safe and happy with them.

Crystal took fantastic care of Archie, and it was clear he really enjoyed his stay. He settled in quickly, and we appreciated the regular updates that kept us reassured. She looked after him especially well during the heatwave, managing his love of sunbathing with great care. We wouldn’t hesitate to have him stay with her again.

Anna has been amazing. Our Bear had a lovely holiday at Anna’s home. She has taken him on amazing adventures and he had the best time. We had daily updates, amazing documentary like video and professional photoshoot of Bear too which we will cherish forever. Bear bonded so well with Anna, he misses her already. Can’t recommend Anna enough, and so grateful to have met her and everything she has done for our Bear.

Great service from Dave start to finish! He was very accommodating with dates/times of our booking as it was a last minute request. Communication was great and we had lots of photos to keep us updated on how Walter was getting on. Would 100% recommend and use him again.

Constantin is a lovely man, he looked after Kobi and loved him like he was his own dog. Kobi went for walks, had treats, belly rubs and was cuddled on the bed and sofa. We had daily photos and messages about Kobi. Highly recommended, Kobi was sad to leave, and Constantin was sad to see him go. I can’t speak highly enough about this lovely man 👍

Great service! Highly recommended🙂 So happy we found Sylwester, he was great with our dog. Teddy was completely relaxed on our return, clearly happy staying with Sylwester and his family. We received plenty of updates during our time away, and it was evident that Teddy was in good hands, having great time, going for long walks and enjoying fun play sessions. It shows that Sylwester loves pets and he’s good with them! We’ll definitely book again. Thank you!

James and his family have been great having Shadow. James made sure to introduce Shadow and Muffin before we booked which was lovely. We were kept up to date with loads of photos and Shadow really enjoyed himself and is super sleepy after long walks! Would definitely book again. (Actually already have requested a booking) would recommend 100%.

First time we have left Bella, apart from using kennels, so very apprehensive but need not have worried. As Amelia cared for Bella no problem, & although Bella is a high energy dog, she was tired out when we picked her up. She had been taken for walks and entertained. Bella has a new friend in Amelia's dog.🐶 Would highly recommend. Would happily leave her with Amelia and her partner again.👍Debra & Wayne.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
