About: I have grown up owning dogs, fish, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamster's and cats. My nursing career has helped me develop the qualities that are also important in excellent pet care: patience, responsibility, attentiveness, and compassion. I carefully manage my availability and only accept bookings that I know I can fully commit to, so when your pet is in my care, you can feel confident that they will receive the time, attention, and care they deserve. I work locally as an NHS nurse, so I’m available for pet care on weekends, after 5pm on weekdays and during periods of annual leave. I am also happy to board pets that are used to being home alone during the daytime. I’m reliable and organised and will always make sure I have plenty of time to give your pet the care, attention and companionship they need. I’m responsible, caring and used to putting wellbeing and safety first. I’ll bring the same level of care and attention to looking after your pet. I understand the importance of following routines, instructions and individual needs, and I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable and well cared for while you’re away. Due to the nature of my profession I am DBS checked.

Costa came back to us a very happy pup and was well cared for and loved in our absence. When we picked him up it was clear to see he was fond of Clare and her daughter after a week with them. Thank you Clare for caring for Costa for us while we were away.

Danielle has been so great with Lebby, she made sure she felt safe and comfortable to approach at her own pace. Danielle and her family were very patient with Lebby, and kept her schedule as is which helped her feel much more confident and less stressed which meant she went back to her routine much faster. The updates and videos were great to put my mind at ease while I am on holiday. Thank you for taking such good care of my cat!

Amy looked after Buddy overnight whilst I was at a wedding. She was so good with him and he really enjoyed his stay. She kept me up to date throughout the stay with messages and pictures. This is the second time Amy has looked after Buddy and he’ll definitely be back for more visits soon! Thanks again Amy!

I would highly recommend Neil to anyone looking for someone to care for their fur baby while they're away. Neil looked after our dog for five days while we were on holiday, and we couldn't have been happier with the care he received. He treated our dog as if he were his own, making him feel comfortable, loved, and right at home throughout his stay. We had complete peace of mind knowing our dog was in such caring hands. Thank you, Neil!

Jo and Jenny are absolute angels. I genuinely felt they had fallen straight from heaven 🥰. Hawk is a rescue from Romania, so it was incredibly important to find sitters who understood his needs. Jo and Jenny took so much time to really get to know him. Their incredible care started before the stay, when we all met up to walk in the forest just so Hawk could get acquainted. Jo collected Hawk from our house, while Jenny planned the adventures. They showed so much thoughtfulness by planning his entire stay around the heatwave. They kept him completely safe while still giving him the ultimate adventure. Hawk is super energetic, so they planned amazing adventures, including beach trips, then sent the cutest video of him digging in the sand, chasing seagulls and waves, for the first time in his life. They walked him in the forest and waterfalls, the pics show Hawk paddling, splashing and loving cold water rubs. I was kept updated the whole time with the most beautiful videos and pictures, Jo even walked him in the forest, before dropping him home. Hawk is sleeping soundly now, completely content after his amazing mini-vacation 🐾 It is so clear Jo and Jenny do this purely out of a selfless love for dogs and not money. Sadly (for them not me 🤣), their busy work arrangements mean they can't have a dog permanently right now, so they poured all that affection into Hawk. They absolutely adored him and he idolised them. Jo and Jenny are the most caring, gentle, and exceptional sitters you could ever wish for. Now that we have found them, our lives will be enriched, we can now go away without worry, knowing Hawk is in the best care imaginable. We have found the perfect sitters so are forever grateful for the Rover app. 🥰

I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received! From the moment we met, it was clear how kind, reliable, and genuinely passionate Mary is about animals. She took the time to understand my dog’s routine, personality, and needs, which instantly put me at ease. While I was away, I received regular updates, photos, and messages, which made such a difference and reassured me that Rosie was happy and well looked after. It was obvious Rosie felt comfortable, relaxed, and even a little spoiled! When I returned, everything was exactly as I’d hoped — a happy, healthy dog and a home that was just as I left it. I would absolutely recommend Mary to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter, and I will definitely be booking again. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my dog!

Becca was fantastic with Lola from start to finish. Becca organised a meet and greet so that Lola could meet Russell (Becca's dog) and they hit it off straight away. I'm so pleased I've found someone that I feel comfortable leaving Lola with! She has come home worn out and well looked after. Becca was great at sending me pictures and videos of what they got up to each day which was a lovely touch! Thank you!

About: I have a 5 year old labrador and I'm very used to walking him for 1 hour daily. I grew up with dogs and lived near a farm as a young child. I also had 2 pet persian house cats as well as budgie's and hamsters. I work full-time but this is agile, balancing office based with working from home. I am usually free during the evenings and on fridays as well as the weekends. But this can be flexible if i offer a boarding service as i can agile work. I have a fenced garden so everything is safe and enclosed, i also live on a quiet estate where the road is not busy. I like to spend time with the animals when they are in my company, as long as a blanket is on the sofa and bed they are welcome to lay on this.

About: Hello my name is Lucia 🙂 I have grown up around dogs and cats and I have always had them as part of my family, which has given me plenty of hands-on experience caring for them. Over the years, I have helped with feeding, walking, grooming, playtime, and providing lots of love and attention. Being around dogs and cats for most of my life has taught me how to understand their needs, personalities, and routines, and I am comfortable caring for them of different ages and temperaments. As a stay-at-home mom, I have a flexible schedule and spend most of my day at home. On weekdays, I only leave briefly in the morning to take my child to nursery from 10:00 to 11:30, and then I return home for the rest of the day. This means I can provide plenty of attention, supervision, playtime, and companionship for your pet throughout the day. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. We have a secure, fenced garden where dogs can enjoy fresh air and play safely. Pets will receive lots of love, attention, and care while staying with me. I also enjoy taking dogs on regular walks, so they can get exercise, explore, and have fun during their stay.

Our lab George had an amazing week with Susan and her family! He was welcomed from day one, settled in well and felt a part of the family immediately. He was certainly spoilt rotten and totally cared for. It was a real home from home for him. We are thrilled of the care Susan gave George, and would no doubt book again. Highly recommended.

Georgia looked after my dog Buzz over a weekend. She was great and helped me out last minute. Buzz was very well cared for, you could tell he’d even been brushed when he came home as he was so fluffy. They dropped him off and he was crying at the window because he missed them. Forever grateful for helping me in a tough spot and for the incredible care they gave him xx

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
