“I can’t recommend Nia highly enough! She is gentle, kind, and wonderfully caring, taking the time to learn about the unique needs and personalities of each dog in her care. My cockapoo, Gertie, was treated like absolute royalty during her stay — Nia instantly understood her little quirks and catered to them perfectly. It’s clear Nia genuinely enjoys the company of dogs, and judging by Gertie’s reactions, the feeling is very much mutual! I’ve already rebooked Gertie’s next few stays with Nia, knowing she’s in the safest and most caring hands.”

“Missy had a fantastic time staying with Laura and was treated like one of their own, I received regular updates and photos which were nice to see. Missy hasn’t pouted with us because we left her which shows she was cared for and content thank you and I will definitely use you again in the future 🐕🦺🐾”

“What an absolute gem Kingsley is! My dogs adored him and weren’t that keen to leave him when we collected them. That speaks volumes. The key things that we valued being devoted dog owners were: He isn’t precious about his home. The dogs were allowed on the sofa and constantly given cuddles on his lap. He got to know my boys really well. He is very into reading dog behaviour and when he messaged ( he did this very regularly with pics) he chatted about their little quirks and mannerisms which made me realised that making them happy was important to him. He really got to know them well. Kingsley is a gentle soul and dogs definitely pick this up and relate to him. I shall always use him in future. In fact, any holidays will be booked around his availability in future! I can recommend him enough!”

About: I enjoy being outdoors and regularly explore the beautiful beaches of Swansea - perfect for keeping your dog happy, active, and engaged. I’d love to meet your dog and give them the best possible time while you’re away. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages - from cheeky, energetic puppies to senior dogs who need regular medical care and a gentler pace. I’m comfortable with all sizes and breeds, having looked after everything from miniature schnauzers and chihuahuas to retrievers and german shepherds. I live alone with my own dog, Serpico - a friendly 3 year old lurcher cross, who loves playing and socialising with other dogs - so your doggo will always have great company. We follow a consistent routine with morning and evening walks, including time for off-leash runs, but I’m always happy to adapt to suit your dog’s individual needs. As a dog owner myself, I completely understand how it feels to leave your pet in someone else’s care. That’s why I’ll always provide regular updates and photos, so you can feel reassured and relaxed while you’re away. I currently work from home on Mondays and Fridays and will only offer boarding on these days as well as weekends. Which means I have plenty of time to dedicate to your doggo. I usually go for a morning walk with my doggo at either the beach or park, providing space for a good run around. Followed up with a chilled evening walk to wind down. We’re happy to change up our schedule to meet your dog’s needs. I have a fenced garden and a dog of my own, who will act as a sociable playmate. I would love to meet up with you and your dog before boarding to make sure a connection is made with your doggo and that they feel comfortable staying at our home.
“Sophie was amazing with our 10 month old cockapoo Teddy. It was our first time leaving him and she was so reassuring over the two days, sending lots of pictures and messages. He came home a very happy puppy. I can’t recommend her enough. I’ll definitely book with Sophie again 😊”

“Gaya was a great host for our little kittten. She met all his needs and provided update videos to show he was doing okay. Would absolutely trust Gaya with our Chom Chom again 🫶”

“Evie is a wonderful sitter and really cares about the dog. She asks relevant questions and tries to ensure the lifestyle of the dog is taken into consideration during their stay. Updates are plentiful and any concerns are addressed/squashed instantly. Biffy is looking forward to spending more time and being fussed by Evie in the future”

“Sophie is so lovely, friendly and flexible and she even messaged me whilst on her holiday. We felt really comfortable with her when we first met and had no worries about leaving our gentle, sensitive Beagle with her. She gave us lots of updates, photos and videos which made us feel even more reassured that we did the right thing by leaving Cookie with her. We would definitely recommend Sophie to anyone and will absolutely be booking her again”

About: I have had pets from a very young age, hand reared puppies & current animal slave to my small one eyed shih tzu Betsie. She is a senior girl at 12 years old, so I have first hand experience of senior dogs, meaning administering medication etc is not an issue. Puppies, younger dogs are also welcome as Betsie still has energy for playtime. We can provide a loving home from home & pets are allowed on sofas and beds if that’s their thing (it’s certainly Betsie’s!!) I will also provide a safe, fun and loving environment whilst your pet is in my care. 🐾 nothing is too much - just ask 🐾 Currently available 7 days a week, 24/7. We would love for your pet to join us on our adventures or just chill if that’s more their thing. I have a large tiered garden, which is fenced off and a padlock on the gate. My house is also safe and secure. Pets will never be left alone. There is myself & Betsie in the house, so it’s chilled vibes - always!

“Thank you for looking after my princess, Sixpence.. Mollie is a lovely host & I felt very relaxed leaving Sixpence for 2 nights. Sixpence was very well looked after. I can definitely recommend her & will definitely book again… thank you”

“Would million % recommend Beth and partner to anyone. Our sandy stayed there from Friday to Monday. She went for long walks across the beach everyday and Beth sent pictures and videos of them. Amazing. Sandy was so comfortable with them and she is a shy dog. Will be using Beth again asap and sandy can’t wait haha”

About: I’ve grown up on a farm with weimaraners so am comfortable with big dogs and long walks. I’m comfortable around cats and rabbits also as I’ve also grown up with them. I have previously done lunchtime drop-ins and done home boarding and am happy to do either. I’m respectful, reliable and flexible, and have access to my own car so can travel within reason. I am currently in between returning from travelling and getting a full time job so have maximum availability and am available at short notice any day of the week. I have a fence off garden which has been purposely maintained for over 20 years to keep animals from escaping. Living on a farm means the safety of the animals and keeping them within the property has always been a priority.
“Luna had a great, safe time with Maria for 2 nights. Maria kept me updated throughout with messages and pictures of her time there and she wasn’t afraid to reach out with any queries. Thanks again :)”

I feel incredibly lucky to have found Nia. She is an absolute gem, and I trust her completely with Gertie, who always comes home happy, relaxed, and content. Nia makes sure she always feels safe, loved, and completely at ease. There is no greater reassurance than knowing my precious girl is in such caring and capable hands. Nia is reliable, trustworthy, warm, calm, and genuinely passionate about what she does. She goes above and beyond every single time, and I couldn't recommend her more highly. If you're looking for someone who will care for your dog as though they were part of her own family, look no further. Five stars simply aren't enough!

I’ve never left Dude with a sitter before, so I was very nervous about leaving him with a stranger but Maryanne immediately put us at ease. She was very flexible as it was a last-minute booking and Dude warmed to her immediately when we arrived. He had a right old adventure at the beach and came back very tired and happy.

This was my first time using Rover, so I was a little nervous about leaving my dog Winnie, but Juliette was absolutely amazing. She was so kind, caring, and reassuring from the start, which really put my mind at ease. She kept me updated throughout her time with Winnie and sent regular pupdates, which I really appreciated. It was clear Winnie was happy and well looked after. I would highly recommend Juliette in a heartbeat and wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. Thank you so much, Juliette! 🐾

Rosie was fantastic with our energetic 1 year old Border Collie while we were away at a wedding. She sent lots of updates and photos, which really put me and my partner at ease knowing he was happy and well looked after. It was clear he had plenty of fun and attention. We’d happily leave him with Rosie again and would definitely recommend her.

I cannot recommend Amy highly enough. We met her and her fiance with Bailey prior to her looking after him. He took to her immediately and I could tell how much she loved him as well. While we were away Amy messaged me daily and sent me a photo. We have never left Bailey with anyone before except family and I knew he was being well looked after. We will not hesitate to use Amy again. Thank you so much.
Just picked Mac up after his stay with Kieren. Mac was fabulously relaxed and we found a very happy boy. Mac is a big GSD who Kieren understood and kept chilled. Kieren messaged us with updates. Would wholeheartedly recommend him to look after your pooch. 🐾 🐾 🐾 🐾 🐾

Our dog had a lovely stay with Mollie. She was great with sending through pictures and updates which helped me relax, knowing that he was being well looked after and having a lovely time. Will definitely be looking to see if Mollie is available the next time we need a boarder and would 100% recommend

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
