Couldn't have asked for better care of our dogs, they definitely had a home away from home with Nia. Got daily updates (we are worriers) and we were put at ease immediately. The dogs adored their time, it was like they had their own holiday! Will 100% be asking Nia to look after them again.

We left our dog Leia with Sophie for the weekend, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This was the first time we’ve left Leia with anyone other than family and she made us feel at ease. We received regular updates and videos, which really made a difference and reassured us while we were away. Leia came home happy and clearly very well looked after. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving dog boarder. Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of Leia!😊

Kingsley was incredibly professional when looking after 2 dogs , one of whom has special medication needs. Kingsley was so welcoming and helpful, and it was incredibly reassuring knowing they were in safe hands. I received pictures and updates throughout their stay and I knew they were in safe hands. I struggled finding good boarders but Kingsley was absolutely amazing. Without a doubt, I’ll be using Kingsley before anyone else again in future.

About: I started my journey on rover while I was in university in 2022, and having furry companions made my uni experience so much better. I now work full time from home, so it would be great to still care for new furry friends! I’m currently working full time but I work from home so am very flexible and would love to look after your four legged friends! I love nature and walking, so your dogs will always get plenty of exercise with me. I’ve had experience with dogs of all shapes and sizes, and love every one of them! I’m well equipped to deal with bigger, more high maintenance dogs due managing my own reactive GSD. Sadly, we lost my dog Oatie very recently to cancer. I used to love to explore with him, so know plenty of local spots. He was a very challenging dog, who could be reactive at times, leaving me with plenty of experience with dogs that can be tricky to handle, especially around strangers or other dogs. If you choose boarding, we have a lovely big & secure garden, with ample space for your dog(s) to explore. They will usually sleep in my room with me, but this is of course circumstantial on your pets needs.

About: I enjoy being outdoors and regularly explore the beautiful beaches of Swansea - perfect for keeping your dog happy, active, and engaged. I’d love to meet your dog and give them the best possible time while you’re away. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages - from cheeky, energetic puppies to senior dogs who need regular medical care and a gentler pace. I’m comfortable with all sizes and breeds, having looked after everything from miniature schnauzers and chihuahuas to retrievers and german shepherds. I live alone with my own dog, Serpico - a friendly 3 year old lurcher cross, who loves playing and socialising with other dogs - so your doggo will always have great company. We follow a consistent routine with morning and evening walks, including time for off-leash runs, but I’m always happy to adapt to suit your dog’s individual needs. As a dog owner myself, I completely understand how it feels to leave your pet in someone else’s care. That’s why I’ll always provide regular updates and photos, so you can feel reassured and relaxed while you’re away. I currently work from home on Mondays and Fridays and will only offer boarding on these days as well as weekends. Which means I have plenty of time to dedicate to your doggo. I usually go for a morning walk with my doggo at either the beach or park, providing space for a good run around. Followed up with a chilled evening walk to wind down. We’re happy to change up our schedule to meet your dog’s needs. I have a fenced garden and a dog of my own, who will act as a sociable playmate. I would love to meet up with you and your dog before boarding to make sure a connection is made with your doggo and that they feel comfortable staying at our home.

We had a French bulldog for 15 years and now have a very gentle and loving labradoodle who loves the company of other dogs, small and large. We have a good sized fenced garden and have lots of lovely dog walking areas nearby. I work from home so I am able to make sure your dog gets lots of opportunities for toilet breaks and walks 🐾 I work from home and I am here the majority the time to care for your dog. We already have a dog who loves to explore the local area and would love another dog for company. My daughter is a very calm child and we have a very quiet home I have a fenced garden and a very friendly dog who loves playing. About: I have been responsible for my family Labrador Sonny for the last 12 years. My absolute heart and soul! I walk dogs locally in my spare time, pairing my love for the outdoors and my passion for dogs. I also have experience dog sitting in exchange for accomodation abroad which I absolutely love doing! Please feel free to contact me about anything you might need, my schedule is very flexible and I’m always happy to help out in anyway I can:) thank you for considering me. I work a zero hour hospitality job, so usually my work schedule can tailor to your needs. A usual day looks like a healthy breakfast, a big long walk usually between a hour-two hours, then I go to work usually not more than a 5 hour shift, I like cosy evenings at home or strolling on the beach. I genuinely have such a good routine for a dog to slot right in I believe. I care for pets by making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after in either my home or the owner’s home. I follow the pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, exercise, and any specific care instructions. I provide plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship to keep them happy and relaxed. I also maintain a clean environment, monitor their health and behavior, and keep owners updated with messages or photos for peace of mind. I have a fenced garden and live right on the beach for plenty of outdoor time. Also a large park close by!

I’ve never left Dude with a sitter before, so I was very nervous about leaving him with a stranger but Maryanne immediately put us at ease. She was very flexible as it was a last-minute booking and Dude warmed to her immediately when we arrived. He had a right old adventure at the beach and came back very tired and happy.

Nia is an absolutely exceptional dog sitter, and I couldn't recommend her more highly. She has looked after my dog, Gertie, many times, and every visit reinforces just how wonderful she is. Gertie absolutely adores Nia and is always so happy to spend time with her. As an owner, there is nothing more reassuring than knowing your dog is genuinely excited to see the person caring for them. What really sets Nia apart is her natural understanding that every dog has its own unique personality, quirks, and individual needs. She takes the time to get to know each dog as an individual, making them feel safe, relaxed, and loved. It's no surprise that dogs feel so comfortable with her. Nia is warm, kind, patient, and wonderfully calm—qualities that make all the difference when caring for our precious pets. She treats every dog as if they were her own, and that gives owners complete peace of mind when they're away. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found someone as trustworthy and compassionate as Nia. If you're looking for someone who will care for your dog with genuine love, understanding, and dedication, I wholeheartedly recommend her.

FAQs for Boarding - Swansea

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in Swansea on Rover is £34.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 326 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Swansea. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
