“I honestly can’t thank Lucy and her family enough. This was a very last minute booking due to my partner needing surgery with only three days’ notice. I contacted Lucy on the Friday, we arranged a meet and greet on the Saturday, and Bella stayed Sunday and Monday night. The whole process was smooth and reassuring from start to finish. Lucy has a beautiful home with a lovely big garden, and her husband Luke and their two children are all so sweet and kind. Bella was walked twice a day by Luke and was clearly very well cared for throughout her stay. Lucy followed all my requests, including allowing Bella to sleep upstairs in her crate just as she does at home. I also received photo updates and messages, which really put me at ease during such a stressful time. Bella definitely made herself at home snuggling up on the sofa with Lucy in the evenings ❤️ When I collected Bella, she was happy, content and completely comfortable with Lucy — which says everything. I will definitely use Lucy again and I’m so grateful for everything she and her family did for us. Thank you so much 🥰”

“Oliver recently took care of our boxer dog Baxter and provided him with great care. Baxter clearly enjoyed his stay and Oliver followed routines and provided updates. We don't trust easily as Baxter can be reactive but Oliver understood and ensured he was well taken care of. We would definitely use Oliver again.”

“Francesca was very friendly, allowed two visits prior to Eddie and Charlie's stay, answered all my questions and left me feeling reassured. Francesca sent photos and messages whilst we were away which further reassured me that the dogs were OK. I would be happy to leave my dogs again with Francesca. Thankyou”

This was the first time I had ever had to leave Buster with strangers but, made me feel completely at ease and kept me updated throughout the duration of the booking. Not only did Julie take care of him but it was very clear that he had had fun there and even met a new friend.”

“Dora appeared to have settled in quite well with Sophie and her lovely family straight away... I would high recomend Crystal as I found her very caring & professional.”

“Georgia was brilliant with Woody! Over the past few days he’s had the best time playing with her lovely dog, Smol, and going on plenty of walks. It was clear from the updates that he was happy, well cared for, and treated like one of her own. Georgia went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and entertained, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with her again, highly recommended!”

“I recently had the pleasure of using Caitlin as a dog boarding sitter, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience! The booking process was incredibly smooth and user-friendly, which set a positive tone right from the start. A few days after booking, we had a meet and greet where my fur babies could get acquainted with Caitlin and explore her cozy home. Caitlin’s warm and friendly demeanor immediately put me at ease. She took the time to listen carefully to my needs and preferences for my dogs, ensuring that they would be well cared for during their stay. I appreciate how attentive she was to their individual personalities and requirements. Throughout their stay, Caitlin provided regular updates on how my dogs were doing, which really reassured me that they were happy and comfortable. One of the standout aspects of my experience with Caitlyn was her flexibility. On checkout day, she kindly offered that I could pick my dogs up at any time that worked for me since she was home all day. This thoughtful gesture made the process so much easier for me, and I truly appreciated her accommodating nature. Overall, I highly recommend Caitlyn for anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. She went above and beyond to make sure my fur babies were safe, happy, and well-loved during their stay. It's such a shame that we're moving abroad, but if we ever return to Wales, I will definitely book with Caitlyn again in the future. Thank you so much, Caitlyn!”

“Thank you so much for taking our Robin last minute. Communication was great and a meet and greet was sorted soon after initial contact. Robin seemed very comfortable and happy with Sean and Darcie at the meet and greet and was treated to some nice treats from the jar! Sean kept me updated as to how Robin was on her night away and reassured me that she was doing well. Lovely first visit and we will definitely be coming back again soon :)”

About: I've always loved dogs and genuinely enjoy spending time with them, whether that's going on long walks, playing, or keeping them company. Looking after dogs is something I truly enjoy and want to do more of! I have experience caring for friends' and family members' pets, including looking after multiple dogs at the same time. This has taught me how to manage different personalities, energy levels, and routines while making sure every dog gets the attention and care they need. I understand how important it is for owners to know their pets are in safe, caring hands. I'll treat your dog like they're one of my own, making sure they feel happy, comfortable, and loved while you're away. Whether your dog enjoys adventurous walks, lots of playtime, or relaxing cuddles at home, I'll make sure they get the care and attention they deserve. I am a student currently back home for the summer so I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give dogs the time and attention they deserve. I enjoy being active, so regular walks with pets are already part of my lifestyle. I can plan my day around your pet's usual routine, whether that means morning, afternoon, or evening walks, feeding schedules, or simply providing companionship. I understand how important consistency is for pets, and I'll do my best to keep them on their normal routine so they feel comfortable and settled while you're away. Your pet's safety is my top priority! When caring for pets in my home, I provide a clean and secure environment with plenty of attention, exercise and rest. Fresh water is always available, and pets are never left unattended for extended periods. When caring for pets in an owner's home, I respect both your home and your pet's established routine. I keep feeding, walking, medication, and play schedules as consistent as possible to help reduce stress. I ensure doors, gates, and any outdoor areas are secure before allowing pets outside, and I maintain a tidy environment throughout my visit.

I knew myloe was going to be fine and as soon as he got to Sophie's because he started to explore. He settled straight in. I'm not sure he wanted to come home. He seems to have had a great time playing with the children and Sophie was really caring. He's come back home tired out which is a good sign that he's enjoyed himself. We will be booking Sophie again soon as we're very happy with the service she has provided

Abigail and Jose hosted our rescue pup for a trial night which was his first time staying away from home since we’ve had him. Their care and attention to detail was phenomenal and instantly made us and Tiggy feel safe and comfortable. So willing to work around our dogs needs and he had the most amazing time, he wanted to stay and go on another scenic walk in the countryside. ☺️

Ingrid was so lovely and helpful. She helped us out after we'd been let down last minute and needed someone to look after our dog during our wedding week. We'd never left Gizmo with anyone before but we were put so at ease and knew he would be well taken care of. We will definitely be using Ingrid's services again and highly recommend her to others!

Tanya and her Husband Finbarr, were great sending us plenty of videos and pictures of Dewi's stay, Dewi didn't want to leave, We would defiantly ask Tanya to look after Dewi again if and when the occasion arises. Watching the videos we could see that they both looked after Dewi as if he was theirs, which was nice to know Dewi was being loved as he is a very loving dog. Many Thanks
Rachel and her partner looked after our two pups like they were their own. We went on holiday for two weeks, Rachel had the puppies for 5 days and walked them for us in the first week while they stayed with family. They are both so lovely and kept us updated with photos and messages, gave them so many lush walks, wouldn’t hesitate to use her again! Thankyou so much both.

Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
