“I honestly can’t thank Lucy and her family enough. This was a very last minute booking due to my partner needing surgery with only three days’ notice. I contacted Lucy on the Friday, we arranged a meet and greet on the Saturday, and Bella stayed Sunday and Monday night. The whole process was smooth and reassuring from start to finish. Lucy has a beautiful home with a lovely big garden, and her husband Luke and their two children are all so sweet and kind. Bella was walked twice a day by Luke and was clearly very well cared for throughout her stay. Lucy followed all my requests, including allowing Bella to sleep upstairs in her crate just as she does at home. I also received photo updates and messages, which really put me at ease during such a stressful time. Bella definitely made herself at home snuggling up on the sofa with Lucy in the evenings ❤️ When I collected Bella, she was happy, content and completely comfortable with Lucy — which says everything. I will definitely use Lucy again and I’m so grateful for everything she and her family did for us. Thank you so much 🥰”

“We had a great experience with Oliver. Our dog stayed with him for 3 days, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Oliver was communicative, reliable, and clearly very caring with dogs. We received updates during the stay, which gave us peace of mind, and our dog came home happy and well cared for 🐶. I would definitely recommend Oliver to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive dog boarder, and we would happily book with him again.”

“Julie was an excellent pooch sitter for our nervous chihuahua. He INSTANTLY loved Julie, she has a calm and nurturing demeanour and our dog was at ease the moment she opened the door (where usually he is quite nervous with people he has never met before). Julie was excellent to communicate with, she was happy to meet our dog at her home for us to ensure that he was acquainted with her and felt comfortable, we felt very confident to leave our dog with her following this visit, her home is secure and homely; a home from home for your pet’s visit. Thank you for taking the best care of our pooch Julie, he returned home content and calm and visibly well cared for. I highly recommend Julie to take care of your pet. I will definitely be booking our pooch in for a stay with Julie again in the future. Thank you Julie.”

I would high recomend Crystal as I found her very caring & professional.”

“Fab experience with Mandy from start to finish, quick replies setting up meet and greet to meet my dog to start, meet and greet went really good, Mandy showed me around her home and talked a little about her routine would be. Communication continued after meet and greet, then when booking came, Mandy was in contact to arrange times etc. Communication all weekend with pictures and videos of my dog. Would definetly recommend!”

“Abigail and Jose hosted our rescue pup for a trial night which was his first time staying away from home since we’ve had him. Their care and attention to detail was phenomenal and instantly made us and Tiggy feel safe and comfortable. So willing to work around our dogs needs and he had the most amazing time, he wanted to stay and go on another scenic walk in the countryside. ☺️”

“We wouldn't hesitate to leave Eric with Caitlin and her partner again. They have a real passion for pets and took great care of our greyhound. Good communication and helped us out when our flight was delayed meaning a very late collection. Thanks so much guys!”

“Georgia was absolutely amazing with Ronnie! He is my whole heart, so I was naturally worried leaving him when his eyes and ears haven't been great, on top of managing the heat. But Georgia treated him like her own from start to finish. She kept me updated with lovely photos and videos, kept his eyes and ears so clean, and Ronnie had a lush time with her lovely dog, they got on amazingly well! Knowing my boy was in such loving, capable hands meant everything to me. Highly recommend and will 100% book again!”

“Gloria took such good care of Winnie. We picked Winnie up and she was very happy. My husband said he could tell Winnie had fallen in love with Gloria. Gloria kept us up to date with Winnie and helped Winnie settle in a new home. Highly recommend for dog sitting.”

“We were very nervous leaving our dogs for the first time ever but can’t thank Sean, Ida and Darcy enough for taking such good care of our boys. It was easy to tell how happy and well cared for they were and Sean really went over and above to the point he pretty much gave up his sofa for them ?. Sean was also happy to send me little daily updates and pictures which meant I could relax knowing they were having a good time. Thanks again Sean ?”

About: Growing up we always had a dog who was a special family member. We had springer spaniels and labradors along with an epileptic white cat. I enjoy spending time with dogs, talking to them, grooming them or just playing. We wanted a family dog for years but as our jobs didn’t allow this in the past we were never able to commit as dogs need so much time, love and affection. My current job now allows me to have the time to spend with your dogs instead. I work from home with a flexible work environment that allows me to spend time with your furry friends. Being self employed I am not at the beck and call of a boss, this allows me to enjoy time with your dogs. We have a fenced off back garden where your dog can spend time safely and the house is also a comfortable and relaxing environment. Depending on your dogs needs, I can accommodate any specific requirements. I love spending time with your furry friends ensuring they feel comfortable in their home from home.
“Lowri and her family looked after our two springers like they were their own. We had regular pictures of beautiful walks and updates on them. They were considerate of each dogs needs and we would love her to have them again.”

I knew myloe was going to be fine and as soon as he got to Sophie's because he started to explore. He settled straight in. I'm not sure he wanted to come home. He seems to have had a great time playing with the children and Sophie was really caring. He's come back home tired out which is a good sign that he's enjoyed himself. We will be booking Sophie again soon as we're very happy with the service she has provided

Ingrid was so lovely and helpful. She helped us out after we'd been let down last minute and needed someone to look after our dog during our wedding week. We'd never left Gizmo with anyone before but we were put so at ease and knew he would be well taken care of. We will definitely be using Ingrid's services again and highly recommend her to others!

Tanya and her Husband Finbarr, were great sending us plenty of videos and pictures of Dewi's stay, Dewi didn't want to leave, We would defiantly ask Tanya to look after Dewi again if and when the occasion arises. Watching the videos we could see that they both looked after Dewi as if he was theirs, which was nice to know Dewi was being loved as he is a very loving dog. Many Thanks

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
