“Tanya was very friendly and professional. We have a very hyper dog who has a lot of energy and love to give, Tanya treated him and our other 3 pets with love and care. Would happily book with her again.”

About: I've been a dog owner for almost 5 years to my dog Willow. I have experience in home sitting and dog walking for friends and family I will be providing all services whilst I am back home from uni. As I am back from uni I will be at home at all times. I do ask that you quickly check my calender before booking to make sure I'm available and to avoid disappointment. I have a fenced in garden and my dog who is very friendly and gets on really well with all dogs. I will also go to others houses
“As always, Tina was fantastic at looking after Bobbin. I received regular updates throughout the day, giving me peace of mind that he was being well looked after. He had a lovely day of walks, play time and cuddles 🥰 I would definitely recommend Tina to anyone who needs a reliable pet sitter 😊”

“Benji was very well looked after by Jess. Felt very comfortable leaving him with them even though he's a big dog. Had regular pictures and updates and communication excellent. House was also left in good condition. Would highly recommend!”

“Beverley was an absolute pleasure! We’d highly recommend her; our usually anxious Cockapoo settled in right away with her and it was such a worry off our minds. 5/5 would absolutely recommend!”

We can offer a safe space for your pet with plenty of room to roam in our 4 bed house. There are plenty of lovely fields and walks for daily exercise.
“I cannot recommend Laura highly enough. Laura kept us both in the loop with how our pup was doing, from photos of her enjoying herself and messages reassuring us she was behaving and happy. Laura responded quickly and offered to do a meet and greet before hand. Laura really was fantastic and our little girl loved every minute spent with her. We can now book holidays knowing our dog is in safe hands. I would not hesitate to recommend Laura”

“Allanah was wonderful 😊 She was very accommodating to my specific requests, sent some lovely photo updates and it was clear Rio was very comfortable and happy in her company. I’ll definitely be reaching out in the future 🐾”

About: I always had a family dog growing up, the house wouldn’t be the same without a dog or two! I have always helped look after dogs for family and friends and now as I have just completed dog grooming training I am excited to meet yours and provide them with care and love! I currently work in a primary school part time, my young child is now starting full time school and I have quality time spare to spend on your furry friends. I treat their home like it’s my own and care for their animal like they are my own. Attention to detail and being responsible and reliable.
About: I have always taken care of various pets, mostly friends and families. I've had cats and dogs in my family, both immediate and extended, and I've always enjoyed spending time with them, walking them and playing with them. I would definitely like to take on new challenges also, be it bathing or training and handling difficult pets. I'm currently studying part time so not every day is always free but i'm usually free weekdays and weekends morning, afternoon and evening. Sadly I do not drive so any pet would need to be fairly local. I live in a cosy second story flat near large fields so a dog would be amply stimulated and comfortable in my home. I would follow whatever guidelines that the pet owner would have in their home, so long as it is good for the pet.
About: I have been a pet owner my entire life, and I have hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. I have personally trained my own Border Collie, which has given me valuable experience with obedience training, high-energy breeds, and positive reinforcement techniques. I am comfortable caring for everything from Great Danes to smaller breeds, and I understand how to adapt my approach based on a pet’s individual needs. Above all, I treat every pet as if they are my own, providing a safe and loving environment while you are away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I’m a co-carer, which gives me a flexible schedule, and I also work on projects on the side that allow me to plan my time around pet care. This flexibility means I can provide reliable attention, regular walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship throughout the day, rather than fitting pets in around a rigid work schedule. I take time to build trust with each pet, allowing them to settle at their own pace and using gentle, positive reinforcement. I’m experienced with a wide range of breeds and temperaments and always stay attentive to behavior changes or signs of stress. Above all, I treat every pet with the same care, patience, and respect I give my own, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away.

Beverley and Flynn hit it off and she was great with him. She kept him company and he cuddled up to his new Aunty. Beverley was prompt, friendly, accommodating and easy going. It was an absolute pleasure to have such peace of mind for an important night out that we couldn't miss. Thank you Bev! We hope you'll look after Flynn again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Torfaen walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Torfaen choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
