“Lula was absolutely fantastic looking after our dog, Bobbin. Before the sitting, she kindly came over to the house to meet him and learn about his behaviour, routine, and what he likes and dislikes. It was such a thoughtful touch and immediately put us at ease. Lula was so lovely and polite, and Bobbin took to her straight away. Throughout the day she took amazing care of Bobbin — playing with him, taking him for walks, and making sure he was happy and comfortable the whole time. It was clear he had a wonderful day with her. She also treated our home with great care and left everything just as we had left it. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Lula was reliable, kind, and clearly loves animals. Bobbin had such a great time with her and we will definitely be using her again. Highly recommend!”

“Have already booked Eva in for our next holiday. She was wonderfully accommodating to my last minute time change and looked after my three dogs brilliantly with lovely updates and photographs.”

About: I have been a pet owner my entire life, and I have hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. I have personally trained my own Border Collie, which has given me valuable experience with obedience training, high-energy breeds, and positive reinforcement techniques. I am comfortable caring for everything from Great Danes to smaller breeds, and I understand how to adapt my approach based on a pet’s individual needs. Above all, I treat every pet as if they are my own, providing a safe and loving environment while you are away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I’m a co-carer, which gives me a flexible schedule, and I also work on projects on the side that allow me to plan my time around pet care. This flexibility means I can provide reliable attention, regular walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship throughout the day, rather than fitting pets in around a rigid work schedule. I take time to build trust with each pet, allowing them to settle at their own pace and using gentle, positive reinforcement. I’m experienced with a wide range of breeds and temperaments and always stay attentive to behavior changes or signs of stress. Above all, I treat every pet with the same care, patience, and respect I give my own, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away.
“It was my first time using Rover and Hannah was absolutely brilliant. My dogs seem to be so happy and relaxed, communication was great. Would 100% recommend and use Hannah again.”

About: I’ve been looking after the family dog since he was born that includes bathing, feeding and walking. He is a large breed; malemutes are gentle giants but definitely a strong grip is needed so I can assure you I feel safe handling larger dogs. In the last couple of years I have taken on other relatives pets in my own home and have recently started boarding / walking family friends pets. I’m currently looking for a job full time and in the mean time I’m looking for more pet sitting jobs available. This means I have plenty of free time to spend with your pets. I enjoy my time with animals and would like to make something of it as I see myself in a future working with animals; whether it’s veterinary care or zoology. Gaining this experience with other people trusting me to take care of the pets will help improve my chances massively. I have a fenced back garden with plenty of grass for your pets to run around in and plenty of time on my hands to keep your furry friend happy. If your crate is easily transported I would be more than happy to Crate them if they were to stay overnight. There are no children in the house so there would be no misunderstanding for your pets if they don’t behave well around children.
“We booked Oliwia very last minute for a home stay and she was fantastic! She made sure to fit in a meet and greet before hand and was very professional, accommodating to our needs, reliable and simply lovely! We would highly recommend her and would love to have her look after our boys again in the future.”

About: Hello there! I'm Steve - a part-time writer and full-time animal lover, based in Caerleon. I've so enjoyed looking after dogs for family and friends over the years. My fiancée's parents have a lively 10 year-old JRT x Corgi, named Hector, with whom I've built a very close bond through engaging walks and gentle play. I've also enjoyed housesitting for friends with multiple pets - dogs, cats and even a house rabbit - ensuring the comfort of routine and security of affection are maintained in their absence. My own dog, Kaya, is a sweet-hearted nine year old collie x whippet who's recently joined the family. She's a sensitive soul and, like Hector, suffers with separation anxiety. As such, I understand entirely how important consistency and comfort are for senior dogs like them. Whilst she is settling in, I'm focusing my availability between Monday and Thursday, for dog-walking, drop-in visits and day-sitting. I spend much of my week working from home, so I have plenty of time to offer care and companionship to pets who need company whilst their humans are busy. I believe in showing all our canine companions calm and consistent company, whether during an enriching walk, a quiet cuddle or just a lunchtime check-in for food and water.
“She looked after both my dogs and did a lovely job as when we came home both dogs were tired and relaxed. So lovely to get the pictures while away as well just gives you a sense of what they have been up to and they look happy which puts you at ease when away from them x would recommend”

“Sula was amazing. She looked after my 2 dogs and the house, and I didn't worry about anything whilst on holiday. She sent me lots of lovely photos of them. I could see they were happy with her. She did everything I asked her to and more. She was so accommodating with her arrival and departure times and made me feel at ease. I would definitely use Sula again and highly recommend her.”

“It was Bingo’s first time with Harriet. Bingo was very excited to see a new face & quickly settled with a chew. Harriet was really good with him & Bingo I’m sure loved having Harriet there with him.”

“Would absolutely recommend Sam’s services to anyone. She was incredibly friendly to us and our puppy and he had the best time at her house playing with her dogs. We were sent pictures and videos while we were away. Will definitely be using Sam again!”

About: I have had dogs all my life, but bailey was my 1st as a adult. I had him from a puppy, so trained him into the dog he became. yes he was spoilt rotten but well trained he could be taken everywhere. I also have had many years of looking after gamily and friends dogs while they go on holidays and have also helped fostered a few until a new forever home has been found. I’m currently off work caring for my mother, and since we’re home all the time, there’s no shortage of love and spoiling to go around. We recently lost Bailey very suddenly to a short illness after nearly 12 wonderful years, and it’s left us feeling heartbroken. While we know we can never replace him, we miss the sound of four little paws padding around the house. We’d love to welcome visitors to help fill that hole, as we miss all the cuddles and love he gave us. I will be the sole carer for your pet but my mother will be in the house also and may come on the odd walks during the nicer weather. Every pet that comes into our home will be treated like Bailey—part of the family. They’ll have free access to the house and garden, and can snooze on sofas or beds wherever they’re most comfortable. Our enclosed garden and CCTV ensure no one comes or goes unnoticed, and a baby gate at the front door prevents contact with postmen or other visitors. I also have my own insurance cover for extra peace of mind while your little one is with me. I also have a Basic DBS certificate.

About: We were never allowed a dog when we were little (my and my sister) but then we inherited a dog from my grandparents and she couldn’t fit better to our slightly strange family - she was ridiculous and so funny. Lived till 16 and could’ve gone a bit longer but we decided that with her health issues it was better to say goodbye to her. That was last September and I still miss her like hell so connecting with other dogs makes this whole situation a bit better. I’m a freelance chef although I work very little in that area now. I also work online so can work from any location as long as I’ve got WiFi. That gives me a lot of time to provide the animals I take care of with lots of attention. I love finding out about their favourite toys or snacks to make the process of their parents being away easier. I’m very loving and caring, treat them like my own.
“Sabrina was brilliant right from the start! She stepped in with a last minute request to look after my dog for the weekend and after a meet and greet I was happy to leave him with her. She was reliable, easy to communicate with and clearly knew what she was doing. I returned to find a happy dog and a spotless house. I would highly recommend”

Hi, I am a huge animal lover having been brought up in a household full of pets. About: I have cavachon that I have looked after for 8 years that lives with my parents. I love all dogs and enjoyed training my own to sit, stay, paw etc. I have a love and connection with all dogs and being able to fill some free time with a 4 legged friend would be great. I work a full time job at the moment. I work 1/2 days from home a week so on my lunch hour I could fit a dog walk around this should it be accessible. I am free then after 6pm weekdays and free on weekends. I often look after my own pet Alfie at home with walks, treats Etc. I look after friends dogs also if they go out for the evening and make sure they are able to go out for the toilet and are well fed.
Newport pet owners share their Rover experiences
Cannot recommend Kate enough! Due to being let down last minute we had to organise a sit the night before and Kate was absolutely fantastic, really friendly, professional, trustworthy and easygoing and I felt instantly at ease leaving my dogs with her. Kate is so passionate about dogs and my two loved her and they were absolutely exhausted after spending the weekend with her! We received photos and updates during the weekend which put my mind at ease and knew they were being well looked after. Will definitely use Kate again, 100/10! :)

Oliwia is wonderful with my young adult Lab. She met us in advance and they were instantly comfortable with each other. She understood how to read him and made sure to ask about all the important details I would have forgetten to share! I had absolutely no worries leaving them together. Oliwia did a perfect job and i’ll definitely book her again :)

Eve was a fantastic dog sitter and I couldn’t be happier. She stayed overnight at my house and took great care of Milo and Mollie. Milo is extremely nervous, but Eve put him at ease very quickly, which really meant a lot to me. Mollie loved the attention and definitely enjoyed her treats! Eve also took the dogs out for walks and made sure they were well looked after. She was very professional, reliable, and clearly loves dogs. I would absolutely recommend her and would happily book her again. 🐶🐾

We couldn’t have asked for better person to look after our beloved Linux while we were away for two weeks in Italy. From the moment Ying-Ying arrived, she made him feel loved, stimulated, and completely at ease. She stayed in our home full time and treated it with great respect, keeping everything tidy and making it feel like we never left. But most importantly, she was amazing with Linux! She truly went above and beyond! He received so much care, attention, and enrichment, including regular training sessions, playtime, and cuddles. We came home to a very happy and relaxed dog, which says everything. We’re so grateful for the love and effort Ying-Ying put into looking after him, and we would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for trustworthy, kind, and truly dog-loving sitter. Thank you so much ❤️ Linux already misses you!

Harriet was fantastic. She clearly communicated her availability and then ensured we had a meeting so she could see the house and more importantly, meet the dogs. She was very confident with all the aspects of our dogs, including walking a very nervous dog and administering medications. The house was in perfect shape when I got home, which I also appreciated. I will definitely be looking to use her again.
