“Brilliant. We got to meet up with Karen the week before we left splodge with her for the day. She really looked after splodge and adapted her routine to splodge's needs. Will definitely use again. Lovely lady.”

“Wayne recently looked after our dog and I can’t speak highly of him. This was Junos first visit sp Wayne really took the time to understand any specific needs that we had or that Juno had! Wayne kept us updated throughout the day with lovely photos of Juno enjoying herself. The whole experience of using Wayne for our girl was wonderful we will certainly be rebooking! Thanks so much for looking after her so well!”

“We have a senior dog that didn't have the best start in life and has always had a distrust of people she dosnt know. We have just done a test run and left oliver to look after her for a day. We are amazed that she was so happy and content with a complete stranger. We now can plan other days out knowing our needy dog is being well looked after. Thank you Oliver, we will be booking your services again.”

“Tina was able to help us out with our last minute request Bella. Tina saw quickly that we weren’t local so a meet and greet beforehand wasn’t possible Therefore she suggested a phone call so we were able to introduce ourselves, tell her about Bella and ask any questions. Having had that call with Tina we felt confident that all would be fine. On meeting Tina outside her house our good impressions from the call were immediately confirmed. Tina obviously has a deep love for dogs and knows how to care for them - we wouldn’t hesitate to contact her again if we had a similar need and would recommend her wholeheartedly. Bella enjoyed her time and was very relaxed ..,and we enjoyed talking to Tina and her family..”

“Josh was really great, we can't recommend him enough! He kept us updated with photos throughout, and really put our minds at ease. Our dog Vinny loved staying at his house!”

“Helen and Ade took such good care of Ava, we're so grateful to have found someone that we know she'll love staying with. She clearly had a fab time with them and they obviously loved her too which was so lovely! Thanks both 😊”

“Mali had an absolute wonderful time with Rex and Kayleigh! Kayleigh was fantastic with her updates throughout the day! Will definitely be using Kayleigh and Rex again in the future would highly recommend!!”

“Spud clearly had a great time with Rupert. He was there for two days and excited to go back there. Comms were great and I will definitely be using Rupert again in the future.”

“Luna stayed with Karen for the second time yesterday. Karen put us at ease with lots of messages and photographs and again we would highly recommend Karen for her care of our Luna, who means so much to us. Thank you Karen, see you soon.”

“This was the first time our 11 year old dachshund Nutmeg had stayed with Nina and we wouldn’t hesitate to rebook with her. Nina had a lovely relaxed way of dealing with Nutmeg who was clearly very settled there. It was a perfect gentle environment and Nina messaged and posted some photos during the day to let us know how Nutmeg was. Thank you Nina for taking the time to understand our dog’s needs and hopefully Nutmeg will see you again soon!”

“Megan is so good with my golden retriever puppy Mango! She’s so patient (even when she has accidents), feeds her on time, and helps us stick to our home routine. Mango loves going to Megan’s place and is always sad to leave! Would 10/10 recommend Megan for any dog but especially puppies xx”

“What a lovely lady! Just the same as leaving our lovely creatures with a friend. She got really excited at how nice our dogs are and they were really comfy in her home. Spacious house, good sized garden. Our two whippets had a great time! Samantha listened to my list of demands and made sure the place was whippet proof, as they're a lot better at stealing things that you'd expect, and she was sure to send us photos of our boys having a great time. Perfect. We have found our trusted dog friend, so we will be able to go on holidays again, knowing the boys will be safe 💙 Word of warning: we do spend longer than expected there because Samantha is good to chat to. So you might need to plan that in!!”

Rachel is absolutely lovely, so sweet and genuinely easy to talk to. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble for her, and she made me feel completely at ease from the start. Smithy is a rescue greyhound, so I was really worried about finding someone who would understand him, his background and all his little quirks, rather than treating him like just any other dog. Rachel absolutely delivered. She took the time to listen, understand his needs and make sure he felt comfortable and settled with her. I felt completely reassured knowing he was in such kind and capable hands, and Smithy clearly loved his time with her. I’ll definitely be using Rachel again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and genuinely caring to look after their dog. Thank you so much 🖤

Teddy has stayed with Sam a couple of times and absolutely loves it! I booked again at short notice this week and thankfully Sam was free. Teddy had a blast playing with her dogs and was shattered when he got home. He's looking forward to the next stay already!

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
