“I was quite nervous leaving my young dog for the first time but she's been with Solange a couple of times now and is clearly very happy and playful. Solange is great and genuinely loves dogs, they are looked after very well.”

About: I am open to discuss the price of longer bookings. I have dedicated a lot of time to educate myself on animal behaviour and training to make sure animals feel comfortable with me. I’m no expert but have first hand experience with a wide range of animal breeds. I’ve completed a lot of sits now with lots of happy customers. I’ve looked after big dogs, tiny dogs, birds, cats and even horses! Making me an excellent choice for your pet . <3 I have recently had a baby (currently 5 months old) so any overnight sits would have to consider him being with me! Currently on maternity leave until November but I have a part time job that is very flexible around my needs and schedule. I work 4 hours either very early in the morning or in the afternoon. Whilst looking after your pet in your home they will be taken on lots of enriching walks and lots of play time to keep them stimulated! An abundance of cwtches and hugs if they are comfortable with me!
“Arnold had his 1st day visit today and Lisa took excellent care of him. She was sensitive to his anxiety and dealt with him so well. He settled down and has enjoyed his day. Tired doggie now. Thank you Lisa, we have already rebooked!”

“Oscar had an amazing time when he stayed at Jodie’s house. He was welcomed as part of the family and was given lots of love and cuddles! Jodie looked after him brilliantly and we felt very happy and relaxed that our fur baby was getting the best care. He is already looking forward to his next stay!”

“Oliver kindly took Blaidd for us short notice and kept us up to date with how blaodd was getting on. Kindly kept her until late so we could be social! Defo go back to Oliver :)”

“Luna stayed with Karen for the second time yesterday. Karen put us at ease with lots of messages and photographs and again we would highly recommend Karen for her care of our Luna, who means so much to us. Thank you Karen, see you soon.”

About: I’m a huge animal lover and have been caring for pets for as long as I can remember. I got my very first pet at the age of 10, and from that point on animals have always been a huge part of my life. I genuinely love getting to know each pet’s personality and making sure they feel safe, relaxed, and loved while in my care 🤍 I have experience with dogs of different sizes, temperaments, and energy levels, and I’m confident when it comes to reading behaviour and assessing situations on walks or around other dogs. I’m responsible, calm, and attentive, and I always prioritise a pet’s safety and wellbeing. I’m happy to stick to strict feeding routines, medication schedules, and any specific instructions provided by owners. I spent a full year dog sitting through TrustedHousesitters, caring for pets in their own homes and maintaining their routines while owners were away. I’ve also regularly looked after and walked dogs for friends and family. One close friend trusts me so much that she flies me out to Switzerland specifically to cat and dog sit for her. I believe playtime, enrichment, and affection are just as important as exercise. Whether that’s long walks, gentle companionship, mental stimulation, or cosy cuddles on the sofa, I tailor my care to each individual pet’s needs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I always go above and beyond to provide loving, reliable, and attentive care — treating every pet as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I prioritise flexibility and reliability, making sure pets receive consistent care, attention, and companionship. I plan my schedule around feeding times, walks, play, and check-ins so pets can stick to their usual routine and feel settled and secure. I care for pets as if they were my own, always prioritising safety, calm, and routine. I closely follow owners’ instructions, keep environments secure, and respect each pet’s individual needs and boundaries. Whether in my home or yours, I ensure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after at all times.

“Claire's welcoming and confident nature has given us the confidence to trust her in looking after our Coco. Her home is perfectly suited to any dog of any size and she is calm and accommodating. Our puppy has such a great time with Claire.”

“What a lovely time Skye had at Sonyas. Lots of outside play with her 3 lovely dogs. We picked up a very happy dog but tired from all of the play. So glad we found Sonya as Skye was well cared for and happy. We will definitely use her again. Jo and Skye.”

“Ruby was so lucky to go for the day to Simon and his lovely family. They are brilliant kind and caring and she loved every minute of it. She settled very well and didn't want to come home. We highly recommend Simon and his family they were very patient and considerate with Ruby who paid them back by licking them all over! Brilliant Dog Sitter Highly recommend!”

Sula was excellent. She took great care to understand Lady's routine and needs. She was flexible and accomodating to our timetable and sent plenty of photo updates. The debrief was detailed and useful, and Lady seemed to have a lovely time. We would definitely book again.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
