“Oscar had another wonderful time staying with Jodie and her family. He was looked after brilliantly and given loads of love. I felt totally reassured that he was having the best time and I had no worries at all about leaving him with Jodie as it was like home away from home.”

“Byron and his family took good care of Nala, sent us photo during her stay! Nala had lots of toys to play with, looked really comfortable in their house! We’ll definitely book with them again !!”

“Michelle was a fabulous host! When I dropped our dog Lili, she warmly welcomed us and I could instantly tell she is a true dog lover and Lili will have a great time. Michelle sent me daily updates during Lili’s stay. I cannot recommend Michelle enough. I will definitely ask Michelle to look after Lili again in the future.”

“Marie was fantastic with our dog Luna. Met before our scheduled boarding to meet her and introduce her to the environment, which put Luna completely at ease. She was given lots of activity and attention and had a great week in a family setting. Would definitely use Marie again!”

“Loki stayed with Charlotte and Her partner for the weekend and I think he had the time of his life! I'm 99% sure he didn't want to come home. They took such great care of Loki, took him for regular walks and kept us updated every day. He made friends with their lovely dog Aeva and their cat too ;) I look forward to booking them again in the future. 100% recommended!”
“We cannot recommend Lisa enough. We have never left our much loved German shepherd Daisy before, so we decided to use Lisa for doggy daycare before boarding. By the second visit Daisy was pulling to Lisa’s door and was happy to stay when we left. Both during daycare and boarding Lisa sent us many photos and detailed updates about Daisy which was really comforting to us. We will be taking Daisy back to Lisa for all our daycare / boarding needs in the future. In fact we will plan our days out / vacations around her availability!”

“Kate and her family were absolutely wonderful with Poppy! Since Kate works from home, Poppy had constant company, and she loved being spoiled by Kate's partner and teenage kids. Her large garden was perfect for relaxing. Communication was excellent throughout the stay—highly recommend Kate for anyone looking for a loving home environment!”

“Our little dog Aluna was very happy with Debbie for her first overnight stay. Debbie kindly collected her to make it easier for Aluna (so she wasn't distressed when I left her) and took her for a short walk to settle her down before playing with her at her home. Debbie is warm and welcoming and treats her guest dogs as her own. She is quick to respond to messages and to answer any questions we had. We will happily send Aluna to stay with her again. Thanks Debbie.”

“Julie was absolutely fantastic and made both me and Buster very welcome in her home. This was the first time I had ever had to leave Buster with strangers but, made me feel completely at ease and kept me updated throughout the duration of the booking. Not only did Julie take care of him but it was very clear that he had had fun there and even met a new friend.”

“Morgan was an absolute star taking care of Bumble, sending regular updates and ensuring that Bumble was at home for the entire stay. Safe to say Bumble has some new found friends and will definitely look forward to her next stay away from home!”

“Absolutely excellent dog sitter. My dog barely wanted to leave when I came to pick him up! His diabetic needs were fully taken care of without a problem and with full confidence. What a lifesaver knowing we have someone who can keep him when we go on road trips! Definitely will be a repeat customer.”

About: I have looked after various dogs when their owners have gone on holiday. I have a lot of experience dog sitting and want to do more of this in my spare time. I am unavailable Tuesdays and Thursdays with voluntary work but other than that I have a lot of spare time to dedicate to looking after dogs. I have a large flat and no garden however we have a large country park directly outside with a 5 minute walk to the country side.
“Lucy was brilliant, it was the first time we had left our fur baby, Lucy made us feel so comfortable, she provided loads of pupdates and her own dog Edie is a real sweetheart who was best friends with our dog in no time ! Would thoroughly recommend Lucy to anyone. Thank you and we will be back soon!”

I couldn't be happier with the service Sula provided. She managed to get our dog 'Gus' booked in at very short notice, after being let down by another unreliable sitter. Gus settled in really quickly and seemed to really enjoy spending time with Sula. Communication was amazing throughout, and Sula really took her time to understand everything about his routines etc. Nothing was too much trouble. Gus returned home very relaxed and happy...I think he would have stayed with Sula if we let him 😀 A** service!!
Sol is the best! Crumble absolutely loves her stays at Sol’s… Crumble can be anxious/unsure in new environments, especially overnight, so before finding Sol we’d always feel nervous about her staying somewhere. Since the first time crumble stayed at Sol’s we completely feel at ease… to the point where we actually look forward to dropping crumble off because she loves her stays at Sol’s so much! Sol is amazing with Crumble, patient and caring and takes her on lots of varied walks. Couldn't recommend her highly enough, you can be confident your dog will feel at home at Sol’s :)

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
