“Sol looked after my dogs for a night, they came home very happy & relaxed. She let them walk as far as they wanted to, one dog is older and slow, so Sol went at his pace, I was thankful of that. I will use Sol again in future, she is easy going and I think that shows with how happy the dogs were.”

“Bowie was so well looked after! Tanya kept us updated with lots of photos and messages, which gave us real peace of mind. He was happy, relaxed, and clearly had a great time when we picked him up. Thanks so much for taking such amazing care of our beagle. We’ll definitely be booking again! Nat, Pat & Bowie xx”

“Toffee loved his weekend stay with Louise, as always. She made sure he kept cool with only very early and late walks and the use of a cooling mat as well. Louise sent photos through as well, so I knew Toffee was feeling at home. Would thoroughly recommend Louise as a very caring dog sitter.”

“Alf our elderly Spaniel loves going to Nina his tail starts wagging when we reach her front door. Nina is great in keeping me updated and sending pictures of Alf throughout his stay. Nina and Alex obviously love dogs and Alf loves them (not that I am jealous!) If you are worried about leaving your dog I would hundred percent recommend Nina -she is my go to for Alf whenever we need to go away.”

“Our little dog Aluna was very happy with Debbie for her first overnight stay. Debbie kindly collected her to make it easier for Aluna (so she wasn't distressed when I left her) and took her for a short walk to settle her down before playing with her at her home. Debbie is warm and welcoming and treats her guest dogs as her own. She is quick to respond to messages and to answer any questions we had. We will happily send Aluna to stay with her again. Thanks Debbie.”

“Our favourite Rover boarding ever. The week coincided with a spontaneous heatwave and honestly I couldn't have left Poppy in better hands than Melissa. Daily updates, photos, videos, I knew she was being well cared for and having a great holiday of her own. Melissa even kindly bought Poppy a replica toy of one she'd become very attached to - she will treasure Clyde the duck forever. We've stayed with many Rover sitters over the years, Melissa tops the list of ones we will book in with again. Thank you!”

“Linda was brilliant watching woody and kestrel for the evening. She really kindly and quickly responded to our (quite last minute!) booking request, and was great when we were communicating pick up and drop off times. We loved getting photo updates, and the pups made themselves at home immediately and were chilled and happy on pick up. If we are ever in Bristol for an evening again we will definitely give Linda a shout 💖🐶 thanks so much!”

“Scarlett was absolutely lovely, great communication throughout the booking and while she was looking after benjie, daily update with texts and photos- would recommend her!”

“Nicola was so great with our nervous doggies. They were so happy and calm. Nicola’s house is lovely and clean and our little dog couldn’t get up to any mischief! They went on a long walk and were really calm when we got them home. Perfect day! I’ll be re booking..”

“Arlo stayed with Nat, Chris and Coco for 11 nights while we went on our family holiday. The highlight of our days was receiving the photo / video updates, some amazing photos and they really made us smile and relax, and took away any worry that we had about leaving him and how he was getting on. Interestingly, now that he has just got home to us he is not following me around constantly as he has on other occasions, he’s not showing any signs of anxiety of us leaving his sight at all, and I think this is all down to the care and love he received from Nat, Chris and Coco, clearly felt very secure and comfortable with them whilst we were away. Completely removed the worry that we have about going away, and has made us much more open minded to going away in the future, will definitely plan for Arlo to stay with you again ?? Thank you Nat, Chris and Coco!”

“Amazing from start, communication prior to, and during boarding was fantastic. Melanie so thoughtful, flexible and helpful throughout, Our dog had a great holiday, we were so reassured, especially as first time for us to be away from her, and she not had huge social experiences. The daily updates and photos were so appreciated. Will definitely be visiting again”

“Such a lovely family to look after our mabel this weekend. Met with Krisztina the week before we went away and felt at ease. Plenty of updates aswell, definitely someone who I would use again to look after our dog. Thankyou Krisztina for looking after our mabel.”

“Oscar had another wonderful time staying with Jodie and her family. He is so happy when he is there and gets lots of love and cuddles and I feel totally confident that he is being given the best care.”

“Kate and her family were absolutely wonderful with Poppy! Since Kate works from home, Poppy had constant company, and she loved being spoiled by Kate's partner and teenage kids. Her large garden was perfect for relaxing. Communication was excellent throughout the stay—highly recommend Kate for anyone looking for a loving home environment!”

“Karen was brilliant with Pearl. She was very understanding of her needs. We got regular videos & updates. Pearl came home very happy & will definitely be returning 😊”

“Morgan was an absolute star taking care of Bumble, sending regular updates and ensuring that Bumble was at home for the entire stay. Safe to say Bumble has some new found friends and will definitely look forward to her next stay away from home!”

“Abigail and Jose hosted our rescue pup for a trial night which was his first time staying away from home since we’ve had him. Their care and attention to detail was phenomenal and instantly made us and Tiggy feel safe and comfortable. So willing to work around our dogs needs and he had the most amazing time, he wanted to stay and go on another scenic walk in the countryside. ☺️”

Sol looked after my dogs for a night, they came home very happy & relaxed. She let them walk as far as they wanted to, one dog is older and slow, so Sol went at his pace, I was thankful of that. I will use Sol again in future, she is easy going and I think that shows with how happy the dogs were.

I couldn't be happier with the service Sula provided. She managed to get our dog 'Gus' booked in at very short notice, after being let down by another unreliable sitter. Gus settled in really quickly and seemed to really enjoy spending time with Sula. Communication was amazing throughout, and Sula really took her time to understand everything about his routines etc. Nothing was too much trouble. Gus returned home very relaxed and happy...I think he would have stayed with Sula if we let him 😀 A** service!!
Sol is the best! Crumble absolutely loves her stays at Sol’s… Crumble can be anxious/unsure in new environments, especially overnight, so before finding Sol we’d always feel nervous about her staying somewhere. Since the first time crumble stayed at Sol’s we completely feel at ease… to the point where we actually look forward to dropping crumble off because she loves her stays at Sol’s so much! Sol is amazing with Crumble, patient and caring and takes her on lots of varied walks. Couldn't recommend her highly enough, you can be confident your dog will feel at home at Sol’s :)

Honestly one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met, Harlow had the best time ever, I am a veteran and Harlow is more than just a family pup, he helps me through so much and this would have been the first time leaving him, I was worried but from day one Sol put me at ease with constant updates, pictures and videos, Sol was so accommodating and so so good with Harlow, five start does not do her justice. Thank you so so much Sol and I will be always using you when Harlow needs looking after. I highly recommend Sol for anyone with family pups to service pups. Absolutely TEN STARS 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
