“I found Joyce at the last minute before my holiday, we arranged a meet and greet and straight away I knew Billy would be fine with her as within 5 minutes he was going to her for fusses! I left him for just over 3 weeks and I had regular updates and photos of Billy out on walks and playing. I would definitely recommend Joyce as a dog sitter, I know if I ever need anyone I shall always ask Joyce first.”

“Dani is the most wonderful ‘dog sitter’. Thoroughly enjoyed meeting her and our dog Flo had the most wonderful time, with walks and beautiful pictures taken. Great communication. Highly recommended”

“Ottilie had a great time staying with Louise. She was very well looked after and clearly had a lovely time. Would happily use Louise's services again. Thank you!”

About: Hi! I'm Becky, I live in Dursley with my 8 year old Cockapoo, Dexter. I work from home Monday-Friday as a Technical Consultant & Dexter and I are more than happy to welcome doggy visitors for day-care or boarding where needed :) I live in a house with a good sized fully enclosed garden, dogs are allowed throughout the house & on both the sofas and bed! There are also lots of dog beds dotted around for comfort. I've lots of experience dog-sitting for family members, and have also fostered dogs for a local dog charity in the past. Dexter is very friendly and welcoming to any visitors! Dexter has separation anxiety, I am therefore home most, if not all of the day - so a typical day will usually be a quick walk in the morning, relax while I work, then a longer walk at lunch on my break, usually off-lead weather permitting - although I'm more than happy to keep any dog on-lead if necessary! Dogs will always be separated during breakfast & dinner times, and I usually keep any chews and toys tucked away out of sight to avoid any conflicts when visitors are staying :) I work full-time from home, therefore your dog will always be in company. We have a quick walk in the morning, followed by a longer walk off-lead for a good run around at lunch. I have a good sized fully enclosed garden your dog can sniff around! Dogs are allowed on both the sofas & bed in my home. They will be separated during feeding times to avoid any conflicts during dinner!
“Charlie was very happy when we picked him up today. We were sent lots of pics and messages while he stayed with coraley would definitely use her again she treated Charlie like one of her own dogs”

“We cannot recommend Lisa enough. We have never left our much loved German shepherd Daisy before, so we decided to use Lisa for doggy daycare before boarding. By the second visit Daisy was pulling to Lisa’s door and was happy to stay when we left. Both during daycare and boarding Lisa sent us many photos and detailed updates about Daisy which was really comforting to us. We will be taking Daisy back to Lisa for all our daycare / boarding needs in the future. In fact we will plan our days out / vacations around her availability!”

“Kristen was excellent, George very much enjoyed staying with her and the family of dogs and cats. Loads of photos updates everyday and updates on George. Defiantly booking with Kristen again for our next holiday! Thanks Kristen”

“Charlie and Milly had the absolute best of care and love from Georgina and family - with amazing extra thought given during the heat wave (including. frozen treats and ice packs in their bed). We got photos and updates throughout the stay so we knew and saw how happy, settled and looked after they were. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

“Phoebe was fantastic with my dog Ralph, he’s come back really happy and clearly well exercised! I also had car trouble which meant I was late to pick up, Phoebe was really accommodating and saved me big time! Would use again and highly recommend! :)”

“Lovely lady, put me at ease straight away and I knew Teddy would be well cared for. Great communication and photos. We will see you hopefully next time we are in the area as Teddy would love to serenade you some more.😏”

About: My friends know how much I like dogs and always ask me to look in on their dogs and sometimes to stay overnight with them while they are either at work or away on a trip. I retired 10 years ago and keep myself busy with musical interests and an exercise class most of Mondays to Wednesdays till around 2.30pm. I am free from Thursday to Sunday most weeks. I lost my lovely dog in November and want to continue to be in touch with dogs as much as possible. I walked my dog daily. As I don't have a fenced garden I always took my dog out on a lead yo the garden. I let her off the lead where I walked in the fields nearby, once her recall Wass good.
“Louise did an amazing job of looking after our puppy! She took her on amazing walks and kept us updated. Our pup was very happy with her and her two dogs, would highly recommend her as a dog sitter. She also gave us some great advice too.”

“Mark and Helen were fantastic with Milly, when my husband collected her she was full of beans, it was obvious she had a great time. They are very nice people who love dogs, the communication was great we received photos and messages daily with updates. We wouldn't hesitate to leave Milly with them again, we can highly recommend Mark and Helen. Thank you so much for taking such good care of our little Milly monster. Bill and Lynn”

“Laura is fantastic, so friendly, she looked after our dog very well. Communication is very good including sending some pictures and I have already booked again.”

“Lucy and her family took great care of our elderly Pug Pablo, she kept us updated (and entertained 😂) with daily photos and descriptions of his adventures while we were away on holiday. Would 100% recommend Lucy to anyone. Thanks again Lucy!”

“She is a special person, my dog was very well taken care of, she is a very responsible and caring person, both she and her partner are very pleasant people, very sociable and friendly, I always received information about the dog, pictures and videos, I am very happy to have met her and I will use her again whenever I need to. THANK YOU”

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
