On top of that she has so much patience and understanding when it comes to rescue dogs that can be anxious. About: I have looked after various dogs when their owners have gone on holiday. I have a lot of experience dog sitting and want to do more of this in my spare time. I am unavailable Tuesdays and Thursdays with voluntary work but other than that I have a lot of spare time to dedicate to looking after dogs. I have a large flat and no garden however we have a large country park directly outside with a 5 minute walk to the country side.

I work from home with a pretty flexible schedule, so I’m around a lot of the time. My girlfriend is a nanny, so she’s usually home by the afternoon. Between the two of us, there’s always someone here to hang out with the dogs and keep things chill. It works out great, especially since we can both give them attention whenever they need it. When I care for pets, whether it’s in their home or mine, it really depends on the dog’s personality and needs. Some dogs might need a bit more quiet time, while others are all about play and adventure. Either way, my focus is always on making sure they’re happy and comfortable. If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
