About: We understand from having dogs who do not like being left how important it is to have them cared for in a home environment. Our dog has full run of the house, sleeps on the bed and sofa and has three walks a day. My husband, Mark and I work from home and regularly look after friends pets when they go away from home. Recently, we looked after a springer spaniel for 6 weeks. However, our daughter is a vet so we understand that each dog has different needs and we would maintain any specific routine for your dog. Around 7 in the morning we go for our first walk of the day , then feed breakfast. Then another walk at lunchtime and we finish with an evening walk followed by supper. Our large garden is fully enclosed and dogs are not left on their own. Happy to follow a similar routine to what they have at their home.

I have been brought up with a beagle American bulldog and a cocker spaniel so I’m quite familiar with other breeds and how are the dogs act? I don’t have direct experience with boarding but of course I’ve watched family pets and taken our family dogs and friends dogs for walks. At home, we follow a structured and consistent routine which your dog would easily fit into. My boyfriend wakes at 5:30am and starts the day with letting Jett out for a toilet followed by a walk around 30 minutes later. After returning home, Jett is fed and then settles back with me into a calm morning routine. I work from home every day, so dogs are never left alone and are welcome to relax with me throughout the day. Our own dog is very affectionate and enjoys being close, often choosing to lie with us on the sofa or come for cuddles. He also has plenty of toys available and enjoys interactive play during the day. Due to his active breed, we include a mid-day walk and a longer evening walk (around 1–1.5 hours at approximately 7pm). After this, he relaxes and sleeps through the evening. Dinner is usually around 9pm, followed by a final toilet break around 9:30pm before bed. We are happy to adapt feeding and walk times to suit each dog’s individual routine. On weekends, we enjoy longer walks in local woods, hills, or the beach, and our dog often accompanies us. He also enjoys relaxed family time at home or in the garden centre, where he comes along with us. We always aim to provide a calm, loving and structured environment where dogs feel part of the family and are cared for throughout the day. If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018.
