“I can not thank Mark and Helen enough. I was nervous about leaving Lola although she has been with home boarding before it was her first time with them. I had no need to worry Lola was cared for and looked after as it was there own dog. Plenty of updates throughout Lolas stay I would definitely recommend Mark and will definitely be using there services again. Thank you Mark and Helen for looking after Lola.”

“Thank you to Dominika and Adam who took excellent care of Siya while I was away. I received several photos of her, which is always reassuring, and she was very happy there.”

“Bellatrix had a fabulous stay. It was our first time using a sitter and all my concerns were alleviated upon first meeting. Rachel and her family made sure Bella’s felt at home and she settled v quickly. Cannot recommend enough”

“As always, Pippin's stay with Heather was excellent. He had so much fun and was so well looked after, and I was kept informed with well timed updates on what he was up to! I would recommend Heather for anyone who wants someone to truly care for their dog.”

“Marcus and Mia gave my dogs such a loving and safe time when they went to stay. I received up to date information, including a video, that the dogs were happy and enjoying their stay. I'm so appreciative I found such a lovely place for my dogs to stay, where I didn't have to worry about them. I'd 100% recommend Marcus and Mia to look after your dogs if you're looking for somewhere for them to stay. Thank you x”

“Sarah and her family were fantastic - they allowed a wonderful meet and greet beforehand, and just felt so welcoming to both Cooper and I. I rarely leave Cooper with people outside of family and friends, and Sarah and her family made me feel so comfortable to do so - they sent pictures and updates throughout the week, and looked after him so well. When I picked him up he was clearly so happy and comfortable with them and in their home environment, it was lovely to see. I will definitely be looking for Sarah’s availability again in the future when going away. Highly recommend. Thank you so much for taking such good care of my boy!”

“Kell deserves five stars, a medal, and possibly honorary dog status after his week with Cassie. He and his family clearly treated her like one of their own — she came back happy, well-fed, and with the unmistakable air of a dog who’s been on a better holiday than her owner. Plenty of walks, lots of care, and (judging by her contented expression) zero complaints from the guest of honour. Honestly, I’m not entirely sure she wanted to come home. Would absolutely trust Kell again — though I suspect Cassie may try to rebook herself first.”

“Lydia and Will are the perfect 'double up parents' of Mango. Very caring and they always put her needs first. Mango is genuinely excited to go - she helps to pack her overnight bag with her ball.”

“Thank you James for taking great care of Maisie over the weekend! I highly recommend James if you want somebody who actually cares about dogs and understands their needs he is the man to trust with your four legged family member. He sends pictures and updates too!”

“Daniela was so lovely and warm, Luka was immediately at ease in her home and I was very happy leaving him in her care. She sent me updates and photos and Luka looked super relaxed and happy in them! He came home very reluctantly after clearly having a great time. Would not hesitate to recommend her :)”

“Susan and her family made our little Pip VERY happy! She clearly had a wonderful time with the family (including with Ozzy the dog), looked extremely settled, and returned home a very relaxed dog. Enormous thanks to you all.”

About: I’ve had pet dogs since I was 8 years old and have grown up looking after them, we had 5 of our own dogs at my family home, all of 3 different breeds. I am a huge cat and dog lover and love every single animal, looking after and being with animals is my passion! I also have lots of experience with cats after having and looking after them for years! I work full time but I am available at weekends from Friday evening to Sunday evening, I can also accommodate to weekday evenings too and boarding but will have to leave early morning in the week. I have a fenced and good sized garden, I have dogs of my own but if your dog needs to be alone, I can also accommodate to this and have them stay at my family house.
“Morris has had two overnight stays with Anna recently. He is a little dog full of character and funny habits and Anna looked after him beautifully. He was very happy to see her so we know he enjoyed his stay which made us relax in the knowledge he was being taken good care of. We would highly recommend Anna to anyone looking for a dog sitter in the area.”

“Daniel was absolutely fantastic, Pippa had an amazing time and we would highly recommend him, the videos he sent really put our minds at rest and were really entertaining.”

“Charlie and Milly had the absolute best of care and love from Georgina and family - with amazing extra thought given during the heat wave (including. frozen treats and ice packs in their bed). We got photos and updates throughout the stay so we knew and saw how happy, settled and looked after they were. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

“Halley & Ed have looked after our dog, Dora, twice in a short space of time, and we couldn’t be happier with the care they’ve given her. They are both fantastic, and it’s clear that Dora absolutely loves staying with them. It’s such a relief knowing she’s in safe, caring hands while we’re away. Thank you both so much for taking such great care of Dora. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you!”

“The friendliest sitter around. Zion was well looked after. This was the second time we left him with Kristen and he ran straight into the house like it was his best friend's place ☺️”

“This was the first time Lulu has gone to a dog sitter and Beth and Dan did an amazing job with her. She had a lovely long weekend with them and had good walks and fuss. We are so pleased with the service provided.”

“She is a special person, my dog was very well taken care of, she is a very responsible and caring person, both she and her partner are very pleasant people, very sociable and friendly, I always received information about the dog, pictures and videos, I am very happy to have met her and I will use her again whenever I need to. THANK YOU”

We are absolutely blown away with the care Roy gave our little Border Collie whilst we were on holiday. We received regular updates with Photos and videos and it was abundantly clear Frankie was having the absolute best time. Thank you so much Roy for everything. ❤️

Sarah and her family were fantastic - they allowed a wonderful meet and greet beforehand, and just felt so welcoming to both Cooper and I. I rarely leave Cooper with people outside of family and friends, and Sarah and her family made me feel so comfortable to do so - they sent pictures and updates throughout the week, and looked after him so well. I 100% recommend Hannah for an overnight stay. I have a large, male GSD who currently requires medication and has a changeable but set exercise regime and I was very concerned about leaving him for a long weekend when I would unavoidably be away without him, and I knew he would be most comfortable in his own home. I contacted Hannah, she came for an initial meet and then two walking sessions prior to staying for two nights. She communicated very well before the weekend and sent updates of his walks and confirmed his medication had been given, she sent photos of him chilling at home during my time away (without swamping me with messages). When I returned Buzz hardly looked up he was so relaxed, the house was left in perfect condition and I am delighted with support that Hannah gave us.

I've used Nadiya's pet-sitting services twice now, and I wouldn't hesitate to book her again. She is caring, professional, and genuinely loves animals. My dog is always relaxed, happy, and very well cared for in her company, which means I can fully enjoy my holiday knowing she's in loving and capable hands. Nadiya is an absolute godsend, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy patient and reliable pet sitter. 🐾

There's no one we trust more with Barney than Leanne and Pav. They take such good care of him every time. He's a very anxious boy who has specific needs but they are so patient with him and they are the only people beside us who he feels comfortable and confident with. Thank you as always! ❤️

Nellie became part of the family very quickly and was looked after as such. Nellie was cared for with love and affection and treated to lots of walks, play, cuddles and doggy birthday parties! She made lots of friends. Nothing was too much trouble. I was kept fully up to date with lots of photos and videos which showed Nellie having a lovely time! I would not hesitate to book again, thank you so much!

Daniela cared for our 2 dogs for 5 nights. We met her in the park a few weeks before to get to know her and talk through their habits, schedule etc. She gave us regular updates and was very easy to communicate with. We picked them up with no hassle and they seemed to have enjoyed their stay. Thanks Daniela, I’m sure we will see you again!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
