“Max had a super overnight stay with Roberta and Tozi yesterday! Lots of play time and walks in the cold sunshine and regular updates for us with photos. Thanks Roberta, again, for taking such great care of max while we whizzed to London for the day!”

“Maria was great with our dog Rio. Kept in touch throughout and sent loads of pictures. Rio seemed to have a great time and she was so good with him. Will definitely be booking her again in the future. Thanks so much Maria”

“We couldn't be happier with the care provided for our two dogs, Willow and Oakley, while we were on holiday. Both dogs require daily medication, and it was such a relief knowing they were in capable and caring hands. From the very start, we felt completely confident that Willow and Oakley would be well looked after. We received regular updates and photos, which really helped us relax and enjoy our holiday without worrying about them. It was clear that they were treated with genuine love, attention, and patience, and their medication routine was managed perfectly. We returned home to two happy, content dogs, which says everything about the quality of care they received. We would highly recommend this dog sitter to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, reliable, and caring. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Willow and Oakley and giving us complete peace of mind while we were away! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“The best dog-sitter I've ever had. Potato had an amazing time, and will be going again as soon as I need a sitter again. 10 stars, 5 isnt enough. He didn't want to come home!”

“Yet another amazing time Charlie has had so much so she is sulking with us. We always know our dog is in great hands with Bobby& Gary absolute genuine wonderful couple very friendly and always welcoming, see you soon”

“I booked Chloe at short notice after another arrangement fell through, and from her first message I knew Yoji would be in safe hands as she asked all the right questions. I received regular photos and videos, and came home to a very happy, tired pup. I’d happily book with Chloe again.”

“Ellie and Honey had a lovely time with Alex and we wouldn't hesitate to leave them with her again. Alex sent lots of pictures so we could see how happy and settled they were with her. It's a comfort to know that they were so well looked while we were away.”

“Hannah was good with Molly🐾, who is anxious and excitable. Her dog, Hunter, was a gentleman with her. Yesterday was a trial run for them all and I hope Hannah will have Molly🐾 again because having someone calm and competent as a sitter is a great support.”

“Maple had a great time on her first stay away from us. Becky was very easy to deal with and gave lots of updates and pics during the stay. Would highly recommend and will definitely use again.”

“Yan and her husband were amazing and most accommodating--they came and picked up Campbell and were very patient with her when she didn't exactly want to go! And then they brought her back to the pub where we were after the play. Great great experience! Will use them again--which is much higher of a compliment than anything we can say in a review!”

“Nova absolutely loved her stay! It was so reassuring knowing she was in such caring and capable hands. We received regular updates throughout her stay, which gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to see just how happy and settled she was.”

“We needed last minute care for our Lurcher Lenny and Alasdair and family were great. We had a relaxed meet and greet and our dog was more than happy to return to the house for drop off. The house and garden are really spacious and we had regular updates from Alasdair. They asked all the important questions about Lenny’s care and they are clearly knowledgable about dogs. It sounds like Lenny really enjoyed spending time with their two huskies. Thank you!”
“Lisa was absolutely lovely and our dog Rufus had a great stay with her and her family and came back very happy! Before his stay Rufus met Lisa in a local park with her dog Giggsy and they got on great. Would definitely use Lisa’s services again and recommend her highly!!”

Willow spent a lovely weekend with Deborah and Paul, who kept her safe and comfortable during the heatwave. Willow loved spending time with Deborah’s two dogs and they all got along really well. I always have complete faith that Willow is in safe and competent hands with Deborah. Thank you.

I can’t recommend Emma highly enough, this was my dog Winston’s second stay with her and it was so lovely she see how keen he was to go into her house. Emma was great at keeping us updated with lots of lovely photos and videos which all showed that Winston was calm and happy. It was so nice being able to go away without worrying about whether Winston was happy and taken care of, thank you!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
