“Fiona excelled at looking after Dilly. Dilly is a sensitive rescue who struggles to settle with most sitters. However, when we returned from a 10 day holiday, she was relaxed and obviously extremely comfortable with Fiona. Fiona had taken a lot of time and thought to help Dilly to relax and feel happy in her company. I can’t recommend Fiona more highly and shall definitely being booking her again in the furure”

“Claire sat for our dog, Ollie, for two days and nights. We felt very comfortable with her from the start. She is very easy to get on with and is clearly a very experienced dog sitter who understands the needs of different dogs. Ollie likes her a lot and was very chilled when we returned home. Claire sent us regular updates and left our house very clean and tidy. We can’t recommend her enough.”

“I really can’t recommend Holly enough. She looked after my pup and my older dog whilst we were away on holiday. She took care of everything. And I don’t say that lightly. She had only previously met the girls briefly, but was a natural with them. Holly checked in with me daily, updating me with how the girls were getting on. She sent me photos of them on their walks, in the garden and snuggled up with her 🥰. This was so reassuring and I felt like I could relax and enjoy my holiday knowing they were in such good hands. She also took care of our home. She left the house immaculate and even double checked when bin day was, so we didn’t miss out. Holly was fantastic and we hope she’s be happy to help us again in the future 🙂 highly recommend. Thanks Holly.”

“Absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend Laura to anyone looking for a dog sitter. Took brilliant care of our dog Isla and our home. Will absolutely be booking again with Laura. 😀”

“Annie was fantastic looking after Charlie and Nancy. She stepped in at very short notice, which I really appreciated. Communication was excellent throughout, with regular updates and photos that put me completely at ease. She was calm, reliable, and clearly great with them. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and would happily ask her again 😀”

About: I have previously worked as a dog walker for Fiona’s Diggity Day Care in South London, where I would walk up to 4 dogs at a time to a secure dog field. I have volunteered at the Dogs Trust, cleaning, walking and caring for dogs needs. I own a mini dachshund and live close to the green way and racecourse for frequent walks. I am a dog lover and would be happy to help. As I am a trainee teacher, I am available weekends and school holidays. I am available at weekends or school holidays for dog boarding. I am currently training to be a teacher and hold a DBS. I have experience looking after my own pet and volunteering with the dogs trust. I have one mini dachshund to keep your dog company and a small fenced garden. I am close to the green way and racecourse for walks.

“Mikey's first sitting with our 12 month old puppy went brilliantly. Mikey was punctual, followed all instructions diligently and was very attentive to our dogs needs who is in her first season and somewhat needy and clingy. Mikey left our home spic and span too, you couldn't ask for a better service, even sharing pictures of Siena enjoying her walkies and post walk naps and cuddles!”

“Maddie looked after our ragdoll Kaspar for two weeks whilst we were away on holiday (staying at our house). Communication was great and regular pictures were sent whilst we were away. We came back to a happy cat and will book Maddie again”

About: As a Phd student living in a 2 bed flat, I have felt the absence of coming home to a pet. However, while studying/working, and living in a 2 bed flat (which is spacious with a lot of walking/park opportunities here in stratford-upon-avon), I acknowledge I am not in a position to have a pup of my own full time. Although my time can be limited during term times, I am available during the busier time periods of the school holidays- I have set times in my calendar, however on days of annual leave and quieter days in the clinic this can be changed (flexible) and a discussion can be had. With that being said, having moved out on my own, it has made me miss my boy at home - a Newfie Harvey (and my two heavenly good boys too). So, if there ever was an opportunity to spend time with other good boys and girls (dogs and cats) and ensure they are getting exercise and having fun trips out, I am the person for the job. I understand how busy life can be, and juggling your work life, social life and personal down time can be hard enough without adding the additional needs of a dog. Therefore, I would love to help someone ensure their floof is having fun while freeing up some of their time too. I’ve had dogs my whole life (3x newfoundlands - 2 of which I have sadly had to leave behind at the family home, an Old English Mastiff and a Rottweiler). I am very adapted to big dogs having grown up with them, but am good with dogs of all size. Although I’m not a dog trainer, I am a dog lover and would love to be a part of giving these good girls and boys a life of love, fun and excitement - seeing as their time on this earth is so sadly limited. Additionally, I have had plenty experiences with cats also, living with cats whenever visiting my dad and helping friends out and previous Rover users, while they go away. I have been part of Rover for over 3.5 ish years, however, had to take some time off due to other commitments, with that being said, I am available again and am keen to help others with the furry babies. Additionally, I ensure to get back to you as soon as possible. I work in the day mon-thurs, so I would be available anytime Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I am also available all weekday evenings from 5pm and can do drop ins during lunchtime on Mondays and Wednesdays, and any time between 7am-8:30am. I will not be able to take dogs into my flat but would consider cat sitting. I will ensure the perimeters of your build are secure both when entering and leaving and will ensure all locks are locked and all gates are shut and secure.
“Stefania is absolutely lovely! Our dogs took to her so well and we could tell they adored her as soon as she met them. She kept us updated all day with pictures of the boys and fun little messages about what they had been up too! Would highly recommend Stefania”

About: I've looked after many different dogs and cats, including rescues. I'm very experienced with medium-larger dogs and have also looked after smaller breeds. I'm very good with more timid or nervous pets as my relaxed nature tends to put them at ease, and even if they don't end up cosying up to me they still feel comfortable around me! I've also looked after cats with health problems, including multiple injections a day, asthma masks, pills and so on. I have lots of experience looking after multiple pets - the most was a month with 2 German Shepherds, a Labrador, and a Jack Russell! As I work fully from home I'm able to be looking after your pets at all times and subsequently very flexible in terms of dates of sits if anything changes last minute. I'm very clean and tidy and always treat wherever I'm living as though it were my own property, leaving it in the same or better shape than I found it! Although I'm a musician I don't make too much noise, and don't need to play my saxophone if your neighbours are close or you're in a flat etc, and when I compose I'm able to use headphones so no need to worry!
“We would 100% recommend Katie! We spent our Xmas abroad and put our trust into Katie to look after our big baby (dog) and our cat. Our dog can be reactive towards other dogs and is very strong on the lead, we went through all this with Katie when she met him before we went away, she took everything on board and really listened to us even if we were maybe worrying a bit too much! Whilst we were away she gave us daily updates of the boys and also pictures which completely put our minds at ease as we could see how content they both were. We got home to find our house tidier and cleaner then it was when we first left! Thank you Katie so much for being the perfect pet/house sitter, we are so relieved to have found someone we can trust x”

“River was absolutely fantastic looking after our dogs, Cheddar and Waffle. She stepped in last minute over the Easter bank holiday, which we really appreciated, and made the whole process completely stress-free. She was incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with, giving us real peace of mind while we were away. Most importantly, Cheddar and Waffle took to her straight away—they were clearly comfortable, happy, and well looked after. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend River and will definitely be using her again!”

“This if the first time we have used Grace and we would highly recommend her. Our staffy Leo loved Grace, having dogs herself she was very comfortable with Leo meeting him for the first time a week before she sat for us. He had plenty of love and cuddles which is what he needed as this was the first time we have left him. Grace looked after our house which she looked after very well. I would highly recommend Grace to look after your pet and to house sit.”

About: I’ve been on Trustedhousesitters for almost a year now and have had many sits with many dog breeds. Breeds includes, Labrador’s, Huskeys, Dalmatian’s, Corgis, and will continue to look after more! I work full time during the week on a normal 9-5, and spending time with dogs is fantastic and takes stress off, and stay active. I tend to walk dogs at least twice a day, and throughout the day if they look bored, I will play with them and run around in the garden.
“Ali was amazing with Hooch & Bruno and both boys loved her so much. She gave them so much care & attention and adhered to their routines and medication requirements. Ali went above & beyond any expectations and we can’t wait to have her looking after Bruno again xx”
“Our dog Keano is always a bit of a handful, but Stephen had no trouble with him at all. Stephen was the perfect sitter and Keano had a great time with him. We also really appreciated Stephen being understanding when we got stuck in traffic on the way back. Overall amazing with dogs, especially reactive ones, and are really happy we found him to sit Keano.”
About: For the last couple of years I have taken care of a whippet regularly having her to stay for up to a fortnight and just loved it. As a child we had labradors and my sister worked in a rescue. We also love learning about dog behaviour and are avid watchers of dogs behaving badly and all things around dog psychology. As a psychotherapist this aspect interests me. Really happy to help people out by caring for their pets. I have a daughter so they would need to be ok with children but otherwise I am very adaptable. I work part time self employed so I am not out of the house for big stretches of time. The dog would come on both school runs and also an additional walk if necessary. I have a fenced garden and no dogs or cats myself. We are close to nature and have woods and a large football field nearby for exercising. I am happy to go to your house also.
“Victoria dog sat for Wilbur yesterday evening and sent us photos of him cuddling up very content which made our night out so much more enjoyable knowing he was happy. Victoria is very well equipped to handle dogs and is a really lovely person. Will definitely be using her again and would absolutely recommend her to other dog owners.”

For a stress free break, engage Fiona to look after your pet! It was such a comfort to know he was in good hands, his needs, and meow requests taken care of. I can look forward to booking a holiday without worrying about my rescue cat being stressed, he was completely chilled on my return thanks to Fiona!

What can I say? Manon was the perfect carer for my two cavapoos! She spent a week housesitting and caring for my boys. I had regular updates of their walks and cuddle time, and they seemed extremely happy. Not only was Manon great with my dogs, but she is also a cat-whisperer, managing to get affection from my very grumpy cat too!! A model house-guest, my home was immaculate when I returned. I wholeheartedly recommend Manon and will definitely ask her to look after my animals again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stratford-on-Avon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
