About: I’ve spent the last 10 years caring for dogs mostly those of family and close friends, building trust and deep bonds along the way. I’ve loved animals since I was very young, and nothing makes me happier than seeing them joyful and well cared for! I’m always free on the weekends and Mondays I have a dog so very active life! Hope I can help you with your best friend! Fenced yard, and they will never be left alone for long periods! My dog has a lot of energy so yours will be very happy!

About: I have a remote job for a tech company which means that your dog will never be left alone and can go outside or play with me whenever they like. I can easily adapt when I walk them based on their usual routines from early mornings till late evening, as well as multiple times a day. I want to dog sit mainly because I work remotely, my partner Alex works full time in Rugby so most of the day I am alone so I would adore some dog company! I would one day love to have a dog of my own, but as I have recently finished my Masters degree, started my career and bought a house that is still a few years away. My family dog Amber lives with my parents so I miss her terribly! Every dog I would look after would get the same love and care I would give her. I also spend a lot of time with my boyfriend’s family’s three Jack Russels, and having grown up in a village full of dogs who we often looked after growing up, I am very comfortable with different breeds, temperaments and energy levels including the really high energy ones. My home is in a quiet village with a fully dog proofed garden (chicken wire has been nailed to the open fence) that overlooks the fields. There is a dog park opposite where the dog can also be let of the lead for a good run around, as well as lots of good walks nearby. Even though I am new to this app I am setting my years of experience to when my family first got Amber which was 10 years ago as I have been looking after her so much in that time, as well as looking after different dogs in the village for either the day or for a week at a time. As I work remotely I can take my breaks and lunch whenever is needed for your dog. I am up early morning a few hours before work if they need a good walk in there as well. I have a fenced garden and can keep watch of them at all times to make sure they are safe and happy. I can adapt their living based on what they have at home: I can put a baby gate up if they are usually not allowed upstairs, or allow them or not onto furniture depending on your preferences as well. I also have a dog seatbelt for the car if they prefer to go to a certain park or need to be driven anywhere for any reason.
“River took great care of my dog, Amber—I hope they both had a lovely day together. Communication was excellent throughout, with regular updates that really put my mind at ease. River was also very accommodating, happily staying longer than planned when my day unexpectedly ran over. Thank you!”

“Mandakini made sure to visit us and our pets in advance of the house sit. She is instantly likeable and I had zero doubts about leaving her to our house and animals. I was able to relax completely on our weekend, confident that the pets were in safe and cheerful hands. The photos were a nice bonus.”

“Rosie always has a wonderful day with Lisa and her partner - she’s always delighted to see them! Daytime sit for nearly six hours while we went out for the day. Thanks guys! Will definitely be rebooking soon 😊”

“Caitlin did a great job looking after our doggies today. They were so chilled to be cared for by her. She sent a few pictures during the time keeping is posted. Will be looking to book again other times when we need, if she's available whenever those yet to be determined times are.”

“Tim was great with our pets (1 dog and 2 cats) - they were much more settled being at home compared to kennels/catteries. Tim is warm, friendly and wonderful with animals. I would recommend him to my friends for house sitting and drop-in visits.”
“A big thank you to kate for looking after our two border collies whilst we attended a wedding for 2 nights. We felt comfortable leaving the girls with kate she's very calm and down to earth which put both me and the girls at ease. We had regular updates and came home to 2 happy pooches and a tidy home. Thanks again.”
About: I have taken care of dogs ever since I was little. My first interaction with a dog was when my uncle brought home an adorable Labrador puppy called Charlie and been a dog lover ever since then. In more recent year myself and my partner have looked after multiple dogs of borrow my doggie and really enjoyed helping out. I work for a children’s charity, and work from home 4 days a week. I usually go for a shorter walk in the mornings and at lunch time and then after I clock off from work I will go out for an hour or so. Plenty of opportunities to get out and about. We live in the countryside with a large fenced garden. When having dogs stay before they often love exploring the smells and pond in the garden. If staying at your house we will adapt to your routines and expectations of the dog.
About: I have been walking and looking after pets for the last 4 years or so. I really enjoying walking dogs, spending time with them and learning about their different personalities. I’m well equipped for dogs with behavioural issues. I have 2 dogs and a cat aswell as Guinea pigs and hamsters previously. I have it listed on here that I don’t own any dogs, this is because they are not currently living at the home in London and are at my mum house in Oxfordshire. I can look after senior dogs and can administer medication. My schedule can be quite flexible however I am dipping in and out of shifts and different places. I am however mostly available. I am taking a year out before going to Bristol next September I live near big fields and also have sufficient land so will take the pet on multiple walks a day. I have 2 dogs at home, a 4 year old female cocker spaniel and a 1 year old female jack Russell puppy. They are both good with dogs and other animals.

About: In a rehabilitative setting I am experienced in handling dogs with extensive needs, such as post surgery, senior care, and behavioural challenges due to injury/conditions. Whether your dog be nervous of new people, need to stay calm post surgery or require extra help with small tasks I am equipped with the knowledge to help! I’m currently working full time, with a springer spaniel and greyhound mix who keep me busy during the week. I offer weekend overnight stays/weekend walks around my Monday to Friday job. I care for your dogs in your own home, meaning they are in an environment they know and will have my undivided attention during each visit.
“Would highly recommend Jane, she did a brilliant job looking after our house and dog , Bea for five weeks . We received regular updates and pictures which made it very clear Bea was enjoying lots of lovely walks and very happy spending time with Jane at home. The house was beautifully clean and tidy when we got back and Bea looked amazing. We have already booked her for our next holiday.”

About: Hi, I'm Kirstie, thank you for looking at my profile! I have owned animals my whole life, we are definitely a family of animal lovers! At the moment we have eight cats, Joey, Lacie, Dynamo, Kurt, Saxon, Mini Big, Ginge and Gus, two long haired and the rest short haired. They all have their own unique personalities, but mostly have one thing in common, they love a fuss and a cuddle! We do have one cat who has her 'boundaries' and so I am used to those cats who prefer their own space! I could think of nothing better than spending my days getting to fuss over lots of different animals, cats are my first love but I have a soft spot for all animals 🥰 This is my full time job so I have plenty of availability! I work to their routine, in every way. They become family to me! I work to you and your pets routine, feeding times, walk times, where they sleep etc. Pets prefer to stay in their own homes, and I will do everything I can to make sure they feel at home with me.
About: As a dog lover with years of training dogs with my mum being a dog agility teacher, i would offer a reliable and caring environment for your furry friends. Daily walks and overnights stays, with all the attention they will ever want! They’ll always have there tails wagging! I’ve experienced working with lazy dogs, playful dogs, reactive dogs so will always be open to learning what they need! I’m currently looking for a new role in the industry and this is something I’d be passionate about! I would give them all the care and attention that they need! I would offer on lead and off leads walks, feed them, cuddle them, make them feel how u would when your at home with them!

About: Having owned my own dogs since childhood and cats in the last 20 years I am well versed in caring for them. I have owned a mini menagerie of animals with my own children as well as offering support to my local community to take care of dogs, cats, rabbits, rats, hamsters, hedgehogs, birds and the odd rescued creature. I am a part time student (mature) and so am at home most days during the week and weekends are certainly negotiable. I am able to base myself at another home if that suits both parties better. I love having dogs and animals in my orbit as I go for walks, enjoy snuggles and "chats" and pootling around with them - in between essay writing! I have a fenced garden and it is secure. I recently lost my labradoodle to old age sadly but I still have a cat, rats and am currently overwintering a hedgehog. I am equally happy to discuss staying at a clients home if that suits both our needs better.
About: I have owned 2 dogs, 20 rabbits and 3 Russian dwarf hamsters (household) growing up. I even have experience with goats, chickens, cows in my family’s farm. I have grown up to love and respect animals by handling them with care, educating myself about them and their environment and recognised their needs and individuality. I am able to keep my dog occupied despite the weather being gloomy. I walk my dog once or twice a day as this would also benefit my physical health, working on my cardio. I even listen to podcasts to support my learning ability for my education. I go over tricks with my dog and even teach her new ones too! She’s quite a lazy dog and loves to sleep a lot so I give her some time to relax after long days.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Cherwell walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cherwell choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
