“This was my second time booking Valentina, this time for 2 weeks. Valentina took great care of our Izzy. She has such a gentle spirit and that made Izzy love her so much she has been looking for Valentina since I arrived back. Came home to a very happy and super energetic pup. Valentina kept in touch regularly with photos which I greatly appreciated. She took great care of my house as well. Highly recommend.”

“Elaine is really lovely. She did a great job house sitting for our spaniel Woody. He was well looked after and she took him on two walks. Communication was excellent, we got some photos and videos of Woody enjoying his walks. She took great care of our home. I would highly recommend booking with her.”

“It is our first time using Rover. We turned to Rover as our dog is older and has arthritis and can’t be comfortable in a kennel anymore. Francesca was fantastic putting our minds at ease! She did a meet and greet to answer all our questions and meet Benny, she kept us updated with pictures so we could see how he was doing, and Benny was so at ease with Francesca! We have already booked again as it was a great experience for Benny to have Francesca look after him. Very much recommend Francesca’s services!”

“Yevhenii was excellent! From the moment he walked in the door I could tell he knew dogs and gain their trust. He house sat for us and took our dog on long walks every day. I would absolutely book him again.”

“This was the first time we’d booked Annika to look after our dog Moose and would deffo book her again! She sent us lots of updates and photos throughout the day and Moose warmed to her immediately :)”

About: I’m a dedicated and experienced pet sitter with over 5 years of hands-on experience caring for cats and dogs, as well as smaller pets. As the owner of two Ragdoll cats, I understand how important it is to find someone who will treat your pets with genuine care and attention! I’m confident managing a wide range of needs—from feeding, grooming, and litter box care to administering medication and providing calm, attentive companionship. I’ve also rescued and cared for a budgie, so I’m comfortable looking after birds and understand the extra care and patience they require. For dogs, I’m an avid runner and endurance athlete, so I’m happy to provide long walks or runs to keep high-energy dogs happy and well exercised. I always tailor my care to each pet’s personality, whether they’re playful, shy, or need a bit of extra support :) My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away—just like they would with you! I'm a researcher with a flexible schedule so happy to work with pet owners to agree on a schedule that works to provide the best care for your pet. I am centrally located in Oxford city centre and would be happy to make visits (multiple a day if needed) to addresses in the area, and also house sit when needed. I take pride in being communicative and will provide frequent updates, and double check any special care instructions to ensure I can provide the best care for your animal companion!
About: Hi! My name is Neele, a cat and dog lover based in Oxford. I grew up with pets and have over 15 years of experience caring for cats and dogs. From puppies/ kittens to senior companions, I have looked after animals of all ages and breeds. I am experienced in grooming, administering medication, and basic dog training (thanks to having owned a lovely Beagle). I currently work in higher education, which gives me the flexibility to provide care and companionship at various times throughout the day. I understand how important it is to know your pet is safe, well cared for and happy. Hence I am always happy to send updates and photos while you are away for peace of mind. If you would like to learn more or arrange a meet-and-greet before booking, please feel free to get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you! I mainly work from home, which gives me the flexibility to provide consistent attention throughout the day. I am very active and can offer multiple walks. I am also available for longer visits or overnight stays. I aim to create a safe, calm and caring environment tailored to each pet’s needs. In an owner’s home, I stick closely to their usual routine to keep things familiar and stress-free. I always follow care instructions carefully, prioritise safety and I am very happy to keep owners updated with messages and photos.
“Elizabeth was great with Scruffy! She communicated well with us, understood his needs, and even dealt with a delivery driver whilst house sitting for us. We will be booking with Elizabeth again :)”

“Alice is always on time and sends us a picture of our pup. We’re very comfortable with her sitting for us if we’re away or if we just need her to pop in for a dog walk. Would recommend!”
“Gabriela was fantastic with our nervous dachshund. She came to visit him before her first visit and was patient with him while he gets to know her. Her communication is great. Would highly recommend Gabriela.”

“Hollie took great care of our big older dog for nearly a week. He had some specific medical needs and she followed those wonderfully. She was also so considerate and tidy sitting him at our home. Thanks for taking such good care of him, Hollie!”

“I would highly recommend Jodie. She was very communicative and bonded well with my elderly dog (15). She kept me informed regularly including photos and left the house in a very good condition - clean and tidy. She appeared to be very responsive to my dog's needs and I returned to a happy dog. I have rebooked for my next trip away.”

“Ines was punctual, calm, and cool. She has a presence that is grounding for animals and humans alike - Nuka was quickly at ease and physically comfortable with her. They walked, played, and I got lovely pictures of Nuka fast asleep on the couch. Highly recommended.”

“We had a great experience with Amy! She came by for a short visit to look after Frankie, and everything went perfectly. Our pup warmed up to her right away, and it was clear she has a natural way with animals. Frankie is looking forward to his next longer day with Amy 😊”

“Emma is the perfect sitter! Absolutely amazing from the meet & greet to staying with our sometimes zoomie-prome XL pup, came back to a very happy dog & clean house after 4 days away. Thanks so much & hope to see you again soon!x”

About: As a child , i developed a deep sense of connection and compassion towards all species - maybe it be a cow or a tiny birdie. I personally had 4 dogs in the household - a german shepard , Pomeranian , boxer and now a pug ( 11 year old ) along with parrots and love birds , a hamster for few weeks and now a proud cat mother. Throughout my later 20s , i have worked with various animal welfare workers and Fostered a number of dogs , rabbits and cats , so safe to say i have hand on experience. My services include feeding , exercising and playing with your pet along additional services such as administratoring oral medications , brushing and basic grooming for your pet's well- being while you are away. I am available all week, adjustable to needs, reach out to discuss further about your and your pets requirments. Spending time with a pet is therapy for me. About: I have experience with big and small, and quiet and wild doggos. I have a friendly aura and get on well with these furry folk. Cat mother at heart. I am currently a university student and have a schedule that is very flexible. Looking for a few hours in my day to help and bond with your animal. When caring for pets in a pet owner’s home, I always aim to keep their routine as normal and consistent as possible so they feel safe and comfortable. I follow all instructions carefully, whether that includes feeding, walks, playtime, or medication if needed. I’m responsible, attentive, and respectful of both the pet’s needs and the owner’s home, and I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your pet. I trust that you as the owner has accommodated your home for your animal/pets. With the exception that it is a safe environment for your animals safety. I do not offer services for your animals to be in my home.
About: I go for lots of long walks and runs in the day of up to 15km along the river and in the woods which would be perfect for active dogs, but equally happy to take older dogs for a more leisurely stroll and cuddles! I have experience with caring for dogs, cats, hamsters, Guinea pigs and rabbits as personal pets and for family friends. This included caring for elderly pets with specific dietary and care requirements. I’m a student so I have plenty of free time this summer for dog walks or pet sitting and at any time during the days I am available, especially for early walks as it has been so hot out! I’m starting a graduate job in September so free most of the summer for pet care! This can be at a range of times and both weekdays and weekends I know lots of safe walking routes around the Oxford area which would be perfect for dog walking including parks, canal walks and nature areas. I have been in the local area for 4 years now so know loads of routes for fab walks!

We couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter! Caroline took amazing care of our three boys, each with completely different personalities and needs, and it was clear she took the time to get to know each of them individually. She kept us updated while we were away, giving us complete peace of mind, and it was obvious from the photos and messages that our cats were happy, relaxed, and getting lots of love and attention. We came home to three content cats and a tidy home, which made returning from our trip so much easier. If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, caring, and genuinely loves cats, we can’t recommend Caroline highly enough. We’d happily trust her with our boys again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for looking after them so well!

Jui was really attentive with Penny, who is a bit of a clumsy dog. She took excellent care of her, even getting a fan for the hottest parts of the day during the heatwave. She kept me updated on everything and sent me a lot of pics. When I returned, I found Penny happy and the house cleaner than I had left it. I wouldn't hesitate to contact her again if needed.

Hollie was great with our dog. Good communication throughout the weeks prior to her coming to stay, including a organising a meet and greet. Sent pictures during her stay and our dog looked happy and relaxed. House left very tidy, we will hope that hollie will be able to look after our dog again in the future.

Natali is a lovely gentle person who loves dogs and is very respectful and considerate when staying in the house to care for them. She responds quickly and clearly to messages and was very happy to accommodate my preference for regular photos and updates. Both dogs were well cared for in terms of food, water, on-lead walks, and playing with toys and the ball in the garden. I felt very secure in the knowledge that Natali would anticipate and cater for their needs, and would deal with any problems in a calm and thoughtful manner. On my return the house was as neat and tidy as I had left it, and it was clear that the house rules re no dogs upstairs had been respected. I will most definitely be booking Natali again!

Maria was absolutely wonderful with Runa and Momo! She kept us at ease the entire time with frequent updates and amazing photos — we always knew our babies were happy and well cared for. Her communication was top-notch; she checked in regularly and responded quickly to any messages. The pictures she sent were adorable and really showed how much fun Runa and Momo were having. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter. Highly recommend Maria and will definitely book again!
I cannot even begin to describe how greatful we are to have Karna looking after our high energy Collie-Kelpie dog: Ciccio. Ciccio is not a couch dog, definitely requires attention and entertainment, and Karna ensures that his needs are met at all times. Not only Karna is amazing with our dog, she is a kind, considerate and helpful person! My wife and I are truly grateful for Karna's work with Ciccio and we 100% recommend her to anyone that is looking for a kind and attentive person to look after their pets!

Petra was just wonderful with our dog Denis: she is professional, kind, calm, reliable and communicative. Denis had a lovely time with her, and we were able to relax on our evening out, knowing that he was in very safe hands. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend her highly. Thank you so much, Petra.

Mylena looked after my springer spaniel Otto for the day whilst I was abroad for work and my wife needed to be in the office for the day. She provided regular updates so I knew that he was being looked after throughout the day. Mylena is a great communicator and was also flexible as my wife had to leave the house really early in the morning. I’d certainly recommend her for your pet care needs.

Sam was brilliant!! He was very accommodating at our very last minute request and had excellent communication. He was friendly and clearly loves dogs. We felt that Frankie was in safe hands (he clearly had a great time and was very happy when we got home). We’d love to book him again:)

We recently had Finn look after Morris and Bash while we were away, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything went. Both pets were so well cared for — it was clear Finn gave them plenty of attention and stuck to their routines, which made coming home so much easier. What really stood out was how immaculate he kept the house. We genuinely came back to everything in better shape than we left it, which is such a rare and welcome thing to find. It made the whole return home feel calm and stress-free. Finn is reliable, responsible, and clearly a natural with animals. We would use him again without a second thought and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter. Five stars all round — thank you, Finn!

Elaine took good care of my boys and they seemed content and well looked after when I returned, which is what matters most to me. Communication was clear and reliable. I realised that I prefer slightly more frequent updates for reassurance, so I would request a few more next time – but that’s simply a preference I hadn’t needed to clarify before, as I’d received very frequent updates from previous sitters. The home was also left in good order. I’d happily book her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Oxford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oxford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
