“Elaine did a great job house-sitting for our 3 cats! All of them warmed to her quickly in the meet and greet, and they were all happy when we came back. Communication was excellent from start to finish, I would highly recommend booking with her!”

About: Although in relatively new to Rover, I have hands on experience caring for and walking a young, energetic Golden Retriever. I’m comfortable handling larger breeds and enjoy taking dogs on enriching walks suited to their individual needs. I’m passionate about dog behaviour and training and I enjoy learning more about how dogs communicate and what makes them feel happy, safe and confident. I’m patient, reliable and understand how important trust is when leaving your dog in someone else’s care. I’ll always follow your instructions carefully and keep you updated. I’m available mainly on weekends and enjoy spending time outdoors making them a great opportunity for longer walks and one on one care. Weekdays I’m available mainly after 5pm depending on my schedule. I currently provide pet care in your home where your dog can stay comfortable in their familiar surroundings and routine. I’ll take them time to understand your dog’s individual needs including feeding times, play, walks, rest and any other instructions you’d like me to follow. I’m also happy to send regular photos and updates so you can have peace of mind
“It is our first time using Rover. We turned to Rover as our dog is older and has arthritis and can’t be comfortable in a kennel anymore. Francesca was fantastic putting our minds at ease! She did a meet and greet to answer all our questions and meet Benny, she kept us updated with pictures so we could see how he was doing, and Benny was so at ease with Francesca! We have already booked again as it was a great experience for Benny to have Francesca look after him. Very much recommend Francesca’s services!”

About: I’m a dedicated and experienced pet sitter with over 5 years of hands-on experience caring for cats and dogs, as well as smaller pets. As the owner of two Ragdoll cats, I understand how important it is to find someone who will treat your pets with genuine care and attention! I’m confident managing a wide range of needs—from feeding, grooming, and litter box care to administering medication and providing calm, attentive companionship. I’ve also rescued and cared for a budgie, so I’m comfortable looking after birds and understand the extra care and patience they require. For dogs, I’m an avid runner and endurance athlete, so I’m happy to provide long walks or runs to keep high-energy dogs happy and well exercised. I always tailor my care to each pet’s personality, whether they’re playful, shy, or need a bit of extra support :) My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away—just like they would with you! I'm a researcher with a flexible schedule so happy to work with pet owners to agree on a schedule that works to provide the best care for your pet. I am centrally located in Oxford city centre and would be happy to make visits (multiple a day if needed) to addresses in the area, and also house sit when needed. I take pride in being communicative and will provide frequent updates, and double check any special care instructions to ensure I can provide the best care for your animal companion!
About: I had a childhood kitty who inspired my lifelong love for cats. As a cat sitter and fosterer, I have experience with cats of all ages and temperaments, from bottle-fed kittens to senior cats, and with shy and semi-feral cats too. I also have experience administering medication to friendly kitties. After graduating from university, I worked as a cat sitter for a popular Vancouver cat sitting agency (Urban Tails), visiting cats in their homes. I had several repeat clients who trusted me with their furbabies and homes for weekend getaways and longer trips. At this point, I’ve cat sat and fostered over a hundred cats and kittens over the years, which is a joy to reflect on (I genuinely just love them so much!). I absolutely adore dogs as well. I’ve dog-sat for friends and I can’t wait to have one of my own. I love a long walk and really enjoy the outdoor time and “stopping to smell the roses” moments that come with dog sitting. When I moved to the UK in 2025, I started pet sitting on Trusted Housesitters. I really enjoyed it and used the service to travel and decide where I wanted to settle down (Oxford captured my heart). In my free time, I love to knit, read, and watch documentaries. I’m a freelance writer and I work from home, so I have lots of time to shower pets with attention (if they want it!) during housesitting visits. I have a flexible schedule, so I’m happy to pop in during your pet’s preferred times for drop-in visits. I’m a freelance writer so my schedule is very flexible. I mostly work from home, stepping out for a cafe or library visit every once in a while for a change of scenery. I’ll keep your pet company for most of the day during housesits. Since I’m self-employed, I can pop in for drop-in visits during the work day to accommodate your pet’s feeding, medication, or activity schedule. I’m happy to follow any preferences or restrictions you have for your pets. Dogs always stay on lead during walks, unless safe off-leash areas and recall are discussed beforehand. I never bring plants or flowers into house sits. I always put food and my knitting supplies away so curious pets can’t get into them.
“Louisa is a calm, competent and friendly young woman. I have never left my dogs with anyone before, but with Louisa I was confident they would be well cared for. Louisa took on board all of my requests and the dogs carefully looked after, well exercised and happy. She managed their medication and ear cleaning and sent me regular updates over the weekend. I would highly recommend Louisa and hope to book her service again.”

About: My husband Yevhenii and I have extensive experience in caring for cats and dogs (of any size). We often look after animals and have a client base, but we also have a lot of time to get to know new lovely pets. In our experience, we have looked after both one cat/dog and 7 dogs at the same time. Rest assured, we are not afraid of anything! We have lived in Oxford for 4years and have been sitting/feeding/playing/walking pets all this time. Please contact us - our love for beautiful creatures is very great and we will surround your pets with care. We are available almost all the time for you. Sometimes we do pets sitting separately with my husband Yechenii. His contact is added to my profile. We always vote to stay together with sleepovers/play with pets but we can do it separately. In the house where we live it is forbidden to have pets, so we can walk/look after/play with/feed pets only in your house, but with great love and care.
“Yevhenii was excellent! From the moment he walked in the door I could tell he knew dogs and gain their trust. He house sat for us and took our dog on long walks every day. I would absolutely book him again.”

“Alice is always on time and sends us a picture of our pup. We’re very comfortable with her sitting for us if we’re away or if we just need her to pop in for a dog walk. Would recommend!”

“I would highly recommend Jodie. She was very communicative and bonded well with my elderly dog (15). She kept me informed regularly including photos and left the house in a very good condition - clean and tidy. She appeared to be very responsive to my dog's needs and I returned to a happy dog. I have rebooked for my next trip away.”

“This was the first time we’d booked Annika to look after our dog Moose and would deffo book her again! She sent us lots of updates and photos throughout the day and Moose warmed to her immediately :)”

“Hollie took great care of our big older dog for nearly a week. He had some specific medical needs and she followed those wonderfully. She was also so considerate and tidy sitting him at our home. Thanks for taking such good care of him, Hollie!”

“Elizabeth was great with Scruffy! She communicated well with us, understood his needs, and even dealt with a delivery driver whilst house sitting for us. We will be booking with Elizabeth again :)”

“Grazia was wonderful with my 11 week old puppy and 13 year old basset hound. She came up with lots of ways of keeping them cool in the heatwave and I felt totally confident that they would be in very safe hands. She is such a lovely person and I would love to have her back!”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Oxford
This was the first time using Rover and a sitter for our 2 dogs so obviously a little apprehensive but couldn't be happier with Hollie and how well she looked after both our dogs and home. We felt relaxed and at ease with Hollie’s calm, caring nature and being able to enjoy our break away knowing everything was taken care of at home was amazing. Hollie sent a good amount of photos and updates and seeing our 2 so happy and comfortable with her was a pleasure. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hollie and will definitely be using her services again in the future.

We highly recommend Akanksha! She took such great care of our cat, Margot, and our home 💗 She sent detailed daily updates, including pictures/videos. Margot was happy and healthy when we got back from our vacation. Akanksha left our flat very clean, even washing the bedding and towels! We can’t say enough positive things about her and will definitely reach out to her again in the future!

Kerensa was brilliant - we would definitely have her again and also recommend her to other Rover users. She was very responsible and communicative, sending us photos of Kevin throughout the weekend and updating us on how he was doing. She left the house spotless as well, and Kevin had clearly been very relaxed with her and well looked after. We felt completely happy with her and I can confidently say we'd love to have her back to look after him again. Thank you, Kerensa! :)

We couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter! Caroline took amazing care of our three boys, each with completely different personalities and needs, and it was clear she took the time to get to know each of them individually. She kept us updated while we were away, giving us complete peace of mind, and it was obvious from the photos and messages that our cats were happy, relaxed, and getting lots of love and attention. We came home to three content cats and a tidy home, which made returning from our trip so much easier. If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, caring, and genuinely loves cats, we can’t recommend Caroline highly enough. We’d happily trust her with our boys again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for looking after them so well!

Jui was really attentive with Penny, who is a bit of a clumsy dog. She took excellent care of her, even getting a fan for the hottest parts of the day during the heatwave. She kept me updated on everything and sent me a lot of pics. When I returned, I found Penny happy and the house cleaner than I had left it. I wouldn't hesitate to contact her again if needed.

Natali is a lovely gentle person who loves dogs and is very respectful and considerate when staying in the house to care for them. She responds quickly and clearly to messages and was very happy to accommodate my preference for regular photos and updates. Both dogs were well cared for in terms of food, water, on-lead walks, and playing with toys and the ball in the garden. I felt very secure in the knowledge that Natali would anticipate and cater for their needs, and would deal with any problems in a calm and thoughtful manner. On my return the house was as neat and tidy as I had left it, and it was clear that the house rules re no dogs upstairs had been respected. I will most definitely be booking Natali again!

Maria was absolutely wonderful with Runa and Momo! She kept us at ease the entire time with frequent updates and amazing photos — we always knew our babies were happy and well cared for. Her communication was top-notch; she checked in regularly and responded quickly to any messages. The pictures she sent were adorable and really showed how much fun Runa and Momo were having. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter. Highly recommend Maria and will definitely book again!
I cannot even begin to describe how greatful we are to have Karna looking after our high energy Collie-Kelpie dog: Ciccio. Ciccio is not a couch dog, definitely requires attention and entertainment, and Karna ensures that his needs are met at all times. Not only Karna is amazing with our dog, she is a kind, considerate and helpful person! My wife and I are truly grateful for Karna's work with Ciccio and we 100% recommend her to anyone that is looking for a kind and attentive person to look after their pets!

Petra was just wonderful with our dog Denis: she is professional, kind, calm, reliable and communicative. Denis had a lovely time with her, and we were able to relax on our evening out, knowing that he was in very safe hands. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend her highly. Thank you so much, Petra.

Mylena looked after my springer spaniel Otto for the day whilst I was abroad for work and my wife needed to be in the office for the day. She provided regular updates so I knew that he was being looked after throughout the day. Mylena is a great communicator and was also flexible as my wife had to leave the house really early in the morning. I’d certainly recommend her for your pet care needs.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Oxford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oxford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
