Qi was a fantastic cat sitter and took excellent care of Biscuit. She listened carefully to all our instructions and followed them thoroughly. We really appreciated the multiple photo updates at every visit, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Biscuit was clearly happy and relaxed when we returned home. Qi was also incredibly flexible and understanding when my fiancé became ill and we had to return home earlier than planned. We would absolutely recommend Qi and will not hesitate to book her again in the future.

Valentina was really great with Molly. She communicated really well and sent us some lovely videos of playing fetch with Molly in the garden, who was clearly having a great time. We had a lovely meet and greet session and could see that she clearly loves dogs and Molly was very comfortable with her. Would have no hesitation in recommending her to others.

Robin's been amazing with our dog over four drop-in visits. She’s friendly, reliable, and flexible with visits. Our dog is quite nervous, so it’s been really nice to see them gradually get more comfortable with her. We’re very grateful for the care and patience Robin’s shown and would happily book again.

Charlie took to Elaine straight away, and she was so good with him, not worrying that he was quite excited by her being here. She managed him well and he was able to calm down and chill with her. Great communication throughout. I will definitely ask Elaine to look after Charlie again.

About: I have been animal mad since I was 5. My career as a pet sitter and dog walker started with begging owners in the park to hold their dog’s lead as a child! As I reached 10 I signed up for ‘borrow my doggy’ with my dad and cared for a lovely lab for 2 years. I was then lucky enough to get my own dog, Ollie, when I was 12, giving me the sole responsibility of puppy training, house training and care. Ollie is a shy boy and has taught me a lot about the extra sensitivity required around nervous animals. Ollie is now a senior dog so our adventures have turned into more gentle walks and massages to avoid stiffness. I have also pet snd babysit for friends and family over the years on a paid basis. I currently pet sit for a family with one dog and one cat. I typically walk the dog, feed both pets and then snuggle up on the sofa and the pets up on whatever reality tv or crime documentary is currently playing. I am different from other sitters because I simply miss animal company in Oxford and yearn for some pet company (being paid is just a bonus!). As a Master’s student currently writing up my thesis, my day is completely self structured. This means I am able to plan my day around pet care and I often welcome the happy walks and cuddle breaks from hard academic work! As I am in a student house I am unable to care for your pet in my home due to my rental agreement. When caring for your pet in your home I am keen to communicate with you to understand your safety rules to ensure I stick to your boundaries. I typically refrain from letting dogs off leash on walks until a trusting relationship has been built. I also will only give treats/ food that you have authorised to avoid dietary issues.

About: Hi! My name is Neele, a cat and dog lover based in Oxford. I grew up with pets and have over 15 years of experience caring for cats and dogs. From puppies/ kittens to senior companions, I have looked after animals of all ages and breeds. I am experienced in grooming, administering medication, and basic dog training (thanks to having owned a lovely Beagle). I currently work in higher education, which gives me the flexibility to provide care and companionship at various times throughout the day. I understand how important it is to know your pet is safe, well cared for and happy. Hence I am always happy to send updates and photos while you are away for peace of mind. If you would like to learn more or arrange a meet-and-greet before booking, please feel free to get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you! I mainly work from home, which gives me the flexibility to provide consistent attention throughout the day. I am very active and can offer multiple walks. I am also available for longer visits or overnight stays. I aim to create a safe, calm and caring environment tailored to each pet’s needs. In an owner’s home, I stick closely to their usual routine to keep things familiar and stress-free. I always follow care instructions carefully, prioritise safety and I am very happy to keep owners updated with messages and photos.

About: We are a friendly couple (Me & Ying)based in Oxford who genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. We offer a calm, clean and quiet home environment, ideal for small or well-behaved dogs. We both have flexible schedules and can give pets lots of attention, companionship and regular walks. We understand how important it is for owners to feel relaxed while away, so we’re happy to provide photo updates and maintain your dog’s normal routine as much as possible. We currently only accept one family’s pets at a time to make sure every dog feels safe, comfortable and well cared for. We both work part-time and have flexible schedules, so there is usually at least one of us at home during the day to keep pets company and give them attention. We enjoy quiet daily routines and regular walks, and we’re happy to take dogs to nearby parks for exercise and fresh air. We are a non-smoking household and aim to provide a calm and relaxed environment for every pet. We provide a clean, quiet and safe home environment for pets. We only accept one family’s pets at a time so each dog can receive individual care and attention. We follow each owner’s routines and instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walking habits and sleeping arrangements. Dogs are welcome on the sofa, but not on the bed. We’re also happy to send regular photo updates during their stay.

Looking for a few hours in my day to help and bond with a couple of animals I trust that you as the owner has accommodated your home for your animal/pets. About: Much of my life has always revolved around animals and I have always enjoyed spending time with and taking care of them. I grew up in Istanbul, which is the stray animal centre of the world, where my family had an ongoing circulation of animals we would take in, take care of, and eventually find a forever home. Through this experience, I have gained a real love for animals and skills in making them comfortable and healthy. I'm now a university student in Oxford and don't get to go home so much to see my pets, so I'm looking to spend more time with animals while helping provide for myself during my degree. My family, all being cat lovers, always had at least one pet around the house, whether they were cats, dogs, birds, rodents, and fish. These pets were often rescued off the street or rehomed from friends and family. In the summer of 2020, I decided to start fostering cats at home (with my parents' permission as I was only 16 years old). My first two fosters were a family of feral kittens and an amputee older cat. I administered medication to them and socialised them to be comfortable around people, which gave me lots of experience with animals needing extra support. We adopted our dog dog, Otis, around the same time, and he was a classic covid puppy, being very anxious and difficult to train. With lots of love and proper training, we were able to get him more comfortable around people and with being left alone, which encouraged me to be more active in dog care and training. I have taken courses in dog training that I would be happy to utilise with your pets as well! Other than that, I just really enjoy animal care and making animals feel comfortable when they're away from their families. I know how stressful this can be for them, and it's super important to me to do my best to ensure both you and them can have the best time possible! I'm currently in the 3rd year of my degree at the University of Oxford, with another year coming up for my Master's degree. The workload can be quite heavy, but I've found it's crucial to have a work-life balance. For me, that looks like long walks in the greenery around Oxford or going home when possible to see my family (and dog). Since the university work is quite self-led, I often don't have time commitments throughout the day and work when and where I can, which can be during house sitting or between dog walks! I really enjoy that time that I spend with animals, so I can always make room for it between my studies. Since I'm in student housing at the moment, I don't offer pet boarding, but I do offer walks, drop in visits, and house sitting, all of which have their unique joys and challenges. With walks, every dog is different and may feel comfortable to different extents. I would take the families' guidance on what their dog usually is like and what they enjoy during walks, and we could build up some walking skills that I have worked on previously, like lead-pulling or recall. For drop-ins or house sitting, I would be very happy to set up a call prior to the sit to make sure you have an opportunity to give me all the information, like their favourite toy or blanket and what kind of treat they like! With house sitting, I would make it a priority to spend a fair amount of the day with the pets so that you feel at ease knowing that they're getting one-on-one quality time and aren't being left alone for long periods of time. If your pets had any special needs, I would be happy to discuss and accommodate them as well.

About: I grew up on a small island in Anglesey, spending lots of time hiking and walking dogs along beaches, through towns, and in the mountains. Now studying law in Oxford, I enjoy finding quieter nature walks in the city and would love to help care for your dog when you are busy or times get difficult to. I am friendly, reliable, outgoing and love dogs of all kinds! I am currently in Law School, my lectures are early on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, but I don’t always need to attend physically. Other than that I am completely free and fill up my time by occasional babysitting, online work, hobbies, going on walks and studying Law. Looking after your pets would fit perfectly into my schedule and help ease yours! I unfortunately cannot dog sit in my own home as I am in student accommodation with rules against animals in the environment. Although, I am more than comfortable to pet sit in your house if you need some extra hands to look after your pets (and or children as I am a baby sitter too). I have been trusted many times to do this and always love making someone’s day easier!

About: I’ve had experience caring for cats for over 10 years, including my own 11-year-old cat, so I’m comfortable looking after both senior cats and kittens. I can help with basic grooming and care such as nail trimming and brushing. I also had a dog from 2021 to 2025, so I have experience taking care of dogs and puppies as well. I absolutely love all pets, and I truly enjoy spending time with pets. If you’re looking for someone to care for your cats or dogs, feel free to contact me! I’m currently studying in the UK, and my classes have already finished, so I’m now full-time working on my dissertation paper from home. My schedule is very flexible, and I can usually head out anytime if needed! I personally prefer non-overnight pet care, so it would be ideal if you live nearby — that way I can easily come over anytime to look after your pets. However, if you need overnight or house-sitting services, please feel free to DM me in advance.

Jenna was fantastic. She was attentive, kind and flexible. The house was in good order, the litter tray clean and the cats were clearly well fed. She sent detailed daily updates for the cats and they were clearly as happy as could be expected when their people have been away for a couple of weeks! She paid attention to other details in the home and was kind enough to check other things not related to the cats were in order. She went above and beyond and we were very happy. We will definitely look to ask Jenna to look after our cats again in future, if she’s willing!

It’s the second time we’ve booked Akanksha, and we couldn’t be happier. Seeing both our cats greeting her every time they see her, asking for belly rubs and showing her so much love is amazing! Colin is a lovebug, but Lola always plays hard to get with new people. And it was surprisingly Lola the affectionate one this time! That speaks a lot about how good Akanksha is with them. Qi is a wonderful and respectful cat nanny, as well as a gentle and faithful person who cares about your pet’s wellbeing. It was my first time leaving my Bengal cat alone, just about 3 months after adoption, and it went waaaaaay better than I could have imagined! Qi will adapt to your pet’s needs and find a way to every paw’s heart - she definitely found a way to my shy little leopard’s heart, which is a real treasure! I was able to fully relax while on holiday with my family, knowing that Alysa was well looked after. Qi is officially our cat nanny now!

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Oxford pet parents with similar pet households.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oxford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
