Christian is an ace dog walker and sittter! Milo has fallen in love with him: always a good sign! I was very impressed that Christian took the time out to encourage Milo to eat. I think the hot weather has taken its toll: he’s not usually a fussy eater. I have absolute confidence in leaving Milo with Christian, who is clearly an experienced dog lover and carer. Am reluctantly prepared to share him with other dog owners!

Qi was a fantastic cat sitter and took excellent care of Biscuit. She listened carefully to all our instructions and followed them thoroughly. We really appreciated the multiple photo updates at every visit, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Biscuit was clearly happy and relaxed when we returned home. Qi was also incredibly flexible and understanding when my fiancé became ill and we had to return home earlier than planned. We would absolutely recommend Qi and will not hesitate to book her again in the future.

About: I go for lots of long walks and runs in the day of up to 15km along the river and in the woods which would be perfect for active dogs, but equally happy to take older dogs for a more leisurely stroll and cuddles! I have experience with caring for dogs, cats, hamsters, Guinea pigs and rabbits as personal pets and for family friends. This included caring for elderly pets with specific dietary and care requirements. I’m a student so I have plenty of free time this summer for dog walks or pet sitting and at any time during the days I am available, especially for early walks as it has been so hot out! I’m starting a graduate job in September so free most of the summer for pet care! This can be at a range of times and both weekdays and weekends I know lots of safe walking routes around the Oxford area which would be perfect for dog walking including parks, canal walks and nature areas. I have been in the local area for 4 years now so know loads of routes for fab walks!

About: I love pets, mostly dogs as I have had dogs in my family. My dog is 18 years old!! She lives with my parents in Spain, and I really miss her... I have had then experience with my own dog and at different stages of her life. Also, my two aunts have dogs, and there are two dogs in my partner's family as well. I have also gone walking at least with four friends and their dogs. They are all different sizes, breeds, and ages, and I love every single one of them. They all had different personalities, and I was able to adapt by giving them more space, ensuring they were comfortable not facing other dogs, or being more affective when they requested it and playing and running with them.
To be fair, creating this profile would not only help me finantially, but it would also give me love from your pet, which I miss having as I cannot have a pet of my own in my Oxford flat. Therefore, I would take care of your pet as if it was my own. I'm also experienced in not only playing, walking and feeding them, but also giving them medicine (e.g., my dog has epilepsy, so she takes medication three times per day). A few years ago, I also dog sitted a friend's dog, and I had to give him pills hidden in food as well. Moreover, my dog's paws were hurt and I had to treat them with chlorhexidine... and many more examples where she had the recovery collar or other small injuries. Lastly, as a peculiarity: I have been my own dog's hairdresser for her whole life! :) I'm also happy to look after cats, as I have lived in a houseshare where my housemate had a cat and I took care of her when the housemate went away some weekends. I'm a PhD student at Oxford University working on my thesis, without funding. Wondering whether I could get a part-time job, I decided to offer my help as dog or cat sitter. In regards schedule, I can adapt as I'm writing my thesis, but to make it easier for me to organise myself, I would prefer evenings from 5pm. I would be happy to talk about it if you and your pet need another organisation, as well as I'm happy to talk about changing prices if you want to book me for several days/weeks. I have a few days that I won't be available in Oxford during July (July 30th-August 4th) and August (August 16th or bank holiday weekend), but I can try and adapt the rest of the summer days. To be fair, creating this profile would not only help me finantially, but it would also give me love from your pet, which I miss having as I cannot have a pet of my own in my Oxford flat. Therefore, I would take care of your pet as if it was my own:) I cannot have pets in my flat, but I would be delighted to walk your pet (for different lengths, like 30min or an hour, or even 1.30h). In a typical visit or walk, I would ensure he/she runs as well during their walk (if age and heat allow it), plays with a toy (ball catching), and sniffes enough surroundings to cover her/his necessities. It all will depend on the dog's necessities, displayed by the owners. I am also happy to come to your house and play, clean or feed your dog or cat there! I know all dogs and cats need different things, so I'm very happy to adapt:)

About: I have experience with big and small, and quiet and wild doggos. I have a friendly aura and get on well with these furry folk. Cat mother at heart. I am currently a university student and have a schedule that is very flexible. Looking for a few hours in my day to help and bond with your animal. When caring for pets in a pet owner’s home, I always aim to keep their routine as normal and consistent as possible so they feel safe and comfortable. I follow all instructions carefully, whether that includes feeding, walks, playtime, or medication if needed. I’m responsible, attentive, and respectful of both the pet’s needs and the owner’s home, and I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your pet. I trust that you as the owner has accommodated your home for your animal/pets. With the exception that it is a safe environment for your animals safety. I do not offer services for your animals to be in my home.

About: What sets me apart as a pet sitter is my experience in handling pets at all stages of life—from playful puppies to senior animals with special care needs. I’m skilled in basic puppy training, like housebreaking and teaching commands, as well as offering extra attention and patience for older pets who may need assistance with mobility or medication. I have a strong attention to detail, ensuring your pet’s routines, dietary needs, and medical care are fully met. My commitment to creating a safe, nurturing environment for each pet makes me more than just a sitter—I’m someone you can trust for dedicated, personalized care. I'm currently studying part-time from home, always happy to get up for early morning walks or long days at the park. Free most days of the week. When caring for pets in a pet owner's home, I aim to create a seamless, comforting environment by sticking closely to their established routines. I make sure pets are fed on time, walked or exercised regularly, and given plenty of play and affection to reduce stress while their owners are away. I also maintain the home as clean and orderly as I found it, including managing litter boxes, cleaning up after pets, and keeping their space tidy. In my own home, I offer a safe and pet-friendly environment where your pet will receive constant attention. I ensure there’s plenty of space for play (I own a very big garden), rest, and comfort, with regular exercise and breaks in a secure, supervised area. Both in-home and at-home, I prioritize your pet’s well-being and make sure they feel loved, secure, and relaxed. If I am studying while the pet is relaxing/chilling inside the house, I make sure that I am always in the same room as them so that they are not left alone/feel lonely.

It was my first time leaving my Bengal cat alone, just about 3 months after adoption, and it went waaaaaay better than I could have imagined! Qi will adapt to your pet’s needs and find a way to every paw’s heart - she definitely found a way to my shy little leopard’s heart, which is a real treasure! Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Oxford pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oxford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
