About: I love a dogs playful and kind nature. I’ve been around dogs all my life and strangers dogs always come up to me which must be a good sign! I adore cats, why I could have my own but my landlord doesn’t allow it! I work full time so I’m only available weekends for dog walks. I could do some week day evenings but I would need notice for this. I know safety around animals, I’ll always keep them on the lead unless you’ve told me otherwise and I’d keep them away from aggressive dogs etc

About: I grew up with family dogs and, for the past two years, have been raising and training my own Shiba Inu. Through this experience, I have developed a strong understanding of dog behaviour, positive reinforcement training, establishing routines, and providing consistent care. Owning a Shiba Inu has also taught me the importance of patience, clear communication, and adapting to each dog’s unique personality. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I work from home every Friday and am also available on some Tuesdays and Thursdays, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide attentive care throughout the day. My workload is generally manageable, so I can spend quality time with your dog, including playtime, companionship, and regular walks during breaks. I’m also available most weekends, allowing me to dedicate even more time to your pet’s care and ensure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while you’re away. Whether caring for pets in my home or in their owner’s home, I aim to keep their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I take the time to learn about each pet’s individual needs, including feeding schedules, exercise requirements, favourite activities, and any special instructions. I have a friendly Shiba Inu who loves meeting and playing with other dogs. For social dogs, this can provide an excellent opportunity for companionship and playtime throughout the day. Of course, I always introduce dogs carefully and make sure they are comfortable with one another. I provide plenty of attention, exercise, walks, and enrichment, while also ensuring pets have a safe and comfortable space to relax. I understand how important it is for owners to feel confident while they’re away, so I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos. My goal is for every pet to feel happy, secure, and part of the family while in my care.

About: I’ve been taking care of my pug for 10 years alone and trained her without any skills. I love dogs and am always happy to cuddle, walk and play with them! Rosie gets an hour walk every morning after breakfast, we usually go along the Thames or the canal or parks, we make sure to change every now and then so she keeps enjoying her walks and being stimulated. Some days we take it slow and smell everything! It depends which mood she’s in I work from home and walk my dog every morning before work for an hour and go for another walk in the evening before her dinner. I do not have a garden which means that your dog will be walked at least twice a day to go potty! My flat is secure and your dog will never be alone.

About: I have 4+ years of experience raising two of my own dogs from puppyhood (a large breed and a French Bulldog), as well as pet-sitting small dogs for my friends. I am completely comfortable with dogs of all sizes, shapes, and temperaments, always keeping them active, happy, and safe. I bring a calm, highly attentive, and reliable energy to dog sitting, and I am strict about following your exact walking and feeding routines. Please note that I am currently improving my English, so I might make mistakes in my speech or messages, but I believe the language of love for animals is universal, and I’m excellent at understanding their needs. I will care for your pup as my own and look forward to meeting you! Since I am currently not working, my schedule is completely open and flexible. This means I have no time constraints and am fully available to care for your dogs or cats any day of the week, at any time—including early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Because I don’t have to rush off to a job, your furry friend will receive my full, undivided attention, whether they need active daytime walks, regular feeding, or just some comforting companionship. I am easily able to adapt to your exact routine and be there for your pet whenever they need me. Trust and safety are my top priorities when caring for your pets. I strictly follow all your rules regarding food, treats, and leash instructions to maintain a safe and familiar environment for them. During walks, I am always alert, keeping a close eye on the surroundings and ensuring dogs are securely on their leash at all times. Since I don't have other pets or major distractions, your furry family member will be in a calm, stress-free, and fully supervised environment where their health and well-being come first.

About: Im currently getting everything set up and will be available for dog sitting from the 20th of September. I’m a university student so I have lots of free time. I live next to Palmer Park and do my daily walks there anyway! I get my fitness in and to be accompanied by a dog would be lovely. I have a car so I am able to get to homes and take the dogs for walks. I have grown up with my grandparents dogs and my friends dogs have experienced many cuddles, dog walks, dog feeds and nap times. I love learning new tricks for the dogs and making them happy. I have a flexible schedule, I study part time at Reading university so I am always free in the evenings, weekends and around my lessons in the morning and afternoon. I will make sure your dog gets the same amount of fork as usual and make them feel really at home. Hopefully keep them to their usual routine.

About: I’ve taken care of my own pets, my family members, friends and neighbours. I had my own big dog and so I know what it takes to take care of dogs. I am able to walk the dog frequently and for various lengths. I am happy to take care of dogs who might need some special treatment! I study mostly at home so I am able to be flexible with my hours. I already take about 4 walks a day so adding a furry buddy to it is no problem. I like walking in large fields which would provide the pet a lot of space to roam around. My dog lived with me in an apartment and then we moved to a house with a garden so that he can enjoy more of the earth and fresh air. I walk my dogs every 4 hours or more often if needed! I usually feed my dog once in the morning and once at night unless he has special dietary requirements when sick.

About: Having grown up in Italy with dogs as part of the family—thanks to a large garden and an animal-loving home—I’ve always had a natural bond with them. Rover has given me the perfect way to continue enjoying their company, and because I work from home most of the time, I’m able to give dogs plenty of attention, care, and companionship throughout the day. I’d be delighted to look after your dog, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch! I work from home most of the time, so I'm quite flexible. Sometimes I need to travel for work or attend appointments out, but I'm happy to discuss your needs and find a way to make it work! My partner and I live in a second floor flat, no balcony. No other animals in the house. No children. My flat has carpet in most areas, so I can only take house trained dogs.

About: I recently returned to the UK from the United States and grew up in Denmark, where I was surrounded by animals from an early age. I was also an avid horse rider, which gave me valuable experience caring for and understanding animals of all sizes. I have worked as a full-time professional pet-sitter in the US and have rescued and rehabilitated cats, helping them regain their confidence and health through patient, compassionate care. As a parent who has raised three children, I’m responsible, dependable, and attentive to individual needs. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust that your beloved pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I love walking in nature and enjoy getting to know the unique personality of every pet I care for. Whether it’s an energetic dog who loves long walks or a shy cat who needs a calm, gentle approach, I adapt my care to suit each animal’s individual needs. I treat every pet as if they were my own, providing plenty of love, exercise, companionship, and personalized care. My goal is to give both you and your pets peace of mind, knowing they’re in caring, capable hands. I have experience working with pets of all ages and have worked with senior pets needing extra care and attention. I’m currently available during the day time hours and I will accommodate your pet’s schedule. My hours are flexible in the day time hours. I will follow your instructions for pet sitting closely and make sure your pet feels very comfortable in my company. I will always be attentive and get a sense of what your pet needs to make sure all their needs are met at any given time.

Tatiana helped us out at the last minute, brilliant communication before and while she has been walking and looking after our puppy. She's reliable, friendly and her knowledge of dogs is brilliant. We have a GSD and the training she has put in a short time and the tips she has given us has really helped. We will definitely be using Tatiana again in the New Year.

About: I always had a soft spot a soft spot for pets. Used to sit for a few lovely cats and I'd always try to learn their behaviour and personalities to earn their trust before pushing myself into their space. I would always constantly have them in the back of my mind throughout the day and tend to their needs. I work 5 days a week but always home before 5pm everyday. Unfortunately, I won't be available during the day but I never have anything on during the evening from 5pm onwards. I live in a 1 bed flat without a garden. Indoor cats won't find this an issue. There are no loud noises during the day aside from the occasional faint footsteps from residents upstairs.

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was young, and over the past 10 years I’ve gained experience with all kinds of pets — from guinea pigs and hamsters to cats and dogs. My family currently has five dogs, so daily pet care is a big part of my life. I’ve also supported two litters of puppies, each with five little ones, which taught me a lot about patience, gentleness, and routine. I have a soft spot for French Bulldogs and understand their unique needs. I truly love being around animals and treat every pet with the same care and attention I give my own. I work full‑time within the NHS on a three‑day schedule, which gives me four days each week dedicated to dog walking. This flexibility allows me to offer reliable availability and plenty of time for longer walks, regular exercise, and consistent routines. Whether your dog needs a calm stroll, a bit of extra energy release, or steady weekly walks, I make sure every outing is safe, enjoyable, and suited to their personality. I live in a comfortable flat just a short walk from a lovely local park, which makes it easy to give dogs plenty of outdoor time and regular walks. Inside my home, I keep a calm, clean, and safe environment where pets can relax and feel secure. I make sure they have a cosy space to settle, fresh water available at all times, and lots of attention throughout the day. Because the park is so close, I’m able to take dogs out frequently for exercise, toilet breaks, and playtime, which helps them stay happy and relaxed during their stay. Whether it’s a gentle stroll or a more energetic walk, I tailor the routine to each dog’s needs so they feel comfortable and well cared for in my home.

About: Dogs were with me since my birth. It's a totem animal of our family. I've started my pet care experience when I was 10. I walked and looked after our English Spaniel Tim. Later our family got yorkies. Currently I have a beautiful girl Mima and provide the best service (walks, food, treats, vet visits) to her I’m a freelance Social Media Manager, so I’m normally based at home. I have a flexible work schedule most days, that's why I can get out for a walk and a play pretty regularly. I have a flat on the 5th floor without balcony. The house has CCTV. The flat is fully secure and I’m right by Forbury Gardens park for walks.

About: Since day dot, I have always been fascinated with the natural world and all the creatures in it. From a tiny flea to a humpback whale, each creature has its place in the ecosystem. I grew up watching my hero David Attenborough who to this day still educates me about everything wild and how we need to help save the Earth. Animals have always been my lifeblood, having vast amounts of pets over the years, to creating a mini ecosystem in my garden. Each animal I hold in high regard and love each and every one of them. I have worked for the last 20 years with disadvantaged children in social care and in schools but this wasn't always my passion. My passion has always been with animals. I have just started venturing into the world of dog boarding, having looked after my friends Chug for extended periods for approximately 3 years. I also home boarded my brother's 2 cockapoo's and golden retriever and I have since gained further experience home boarding a friend of a friends pair of Chugs. Each dog is treated as if they were family, I want to recreate a home from home experience for every dog in my care including daily walks, sleeping in my bed (if customers are happy for this to take place) brushing, playtime and lots of love and affection. In time i'm looking to gain qualifications in dog care/boarding and well as in dog training. I already have my own pets, and have had numerous small animals in my lifetime including budgies, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, guinea pigs, cats and my most favourite pet of all... rats. I currently have 12 pet rats who are super affectionate, highly intelligent and just all round beautiful! I've owned rats for 19 years and I don't think i'll ever not own them. I also have 3 cats. The first Sula is our more timid cat. The 2nd cat Flopsy had 4 kittens during covid (due to neutering being unavailable) which was a beautiful experience to support during the birth and I extensively researched the needs and dietary requirements ensuring they had a healthy start in life before I found exceptional homes for them. Our 3rd cat Henry is a fairly recent addition to the family, having adopted him from an elderly neighbour who could no longer care for him. All three cats were warey of dogs and are now beginning to accept them. They are all outdoor cats and I plan on building them a shelving/sleeping area at the top of my staircase to give them a natural environment indoors. Every animal deserves love, care and affection, they will certainly have that with me! I’d be delighted to meet you and your dog beforehand and spend some time getting to know you both, ensuring I’m the right match for your dog’s needs. I also hold an Enhanced DBS check for added reassurance. I am also currently studying Level 2 Award Dog First Aid and CPR through Dog Business School. I currently work full time, term time in a local school. I have lots of free time over the school holidays and also most weekends. I can offer any hours/overnights you require during this time. There is always a member of my family at home, usually my mother, who is at my house throughout the day to collect my youngest son from school. This means there is someone available to provide company and care during the day. I am happy to accept boarding requests during the times I am at work on weekdays. However, during term time, I prefer boarding to begin at the weekend so I can help your dog settle into my home before I return to work on Monday. Once I'm at work, a family member will be at home to continuing to expertly care for them. I generally work Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm at a local school to my home. I have a long fenced off back garden, access to a field over the back of my house and I am also situated within walking distance to a large grass/wooded area called Prospect Park. I have previously, (with the dog owners consent) taken their dog to the beach with my family. Wherever me and my family go, the dog will come with us, whether that's for dinner, shopping or any other recreation purposes that allow dogs. All activities we do as a family, when we have a dog in my care, will never be excluded or left on their own. I will follow any instructions given by you, including feeding, medication, brushing teeth, walking or any other routines you have for your beloved dog. I own a 3 bedroom house and have 3 children of my own and my partner has two. They vary in age from 4 to 17. Our children are not always at home and spend equal amounts of time with their other parent. All our children are besotted with animals and treat them with the love and respect they deserve.

About: I've been an animal lover ever since I can remember. Growing up on a farm, I've owned a golden retriever and several cats and horses. I have been pet sitting since I was 11 for family and friends and since arriving to London, I was really missing it. Since I am unable to mind a dog full time with my job, I mind other people's dogs in my spare time. I work Monday to Friday from 6.30am to 6pm, my weekends are free and I can both house sit and bring dogs for walks in that time. I am also able to do overnight house-sitting duties midweek in the London/Reading area When caring for pets in your home, I always make it a priority to follow their usual routine as closely as possible—whether that’s feeding times, walk schedules, playtime, or quiet time. I want your pet to feel relaxed and secure while you're away, so I take the time to get to know their personality and preferences. When dog walking near my home, I have access to a great dog park for pups who enjoy a bit of extra play and social time (with your permission, of course). I treat every pet with the same love and attention I’d give my own, making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for.

We needed a cat sitter for our two ginger cats & found Niz's profile. It turned out to be super convenient all round as she is just a few minutes from us. She visited before we travelled, to get to know Milo & Cookie. Cookie was instantly smitten, Milo a little more cautious, but that's just his nature. Niz took wonderful care of our kitties - visiting twice a day. She sent us daily photos & videos & gave us little updates about how they were doing - how much they ate, litter tray habits, etc. She fed them, topped up their fountains, scooped the litter trays & made a big fuss of them. She even earned Milo's trust - not an easy task as he is naturally more nervous & wary of humans he doesn't know. Overall, Niz did a fantastic job, gave us huge peace of mind & we wouldn't hesitate to use her services again - highly recommended!

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Reading pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Reading choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
