Khaley was an excellent cat sitter, she helped out last minute and even my very timid cat came out to her on only the second visit. Communication was exemplary and she went above and beyond to make sure the house clean on my return, will be using Khaley again, thank you.

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with several years of hands-on experience caring for pets. I currently have two dogs, including a puppy, which has given me valuable experience with puppy training, routines, socialisation, and the extra patience and consistency that young dogs need. Over the past year, I’ve had the pleasure of caring for a wide variety of pets through Rover, as well as for friends and family. From tiny Chihuahuas to energetic Staffies, older dogs needing a gentler pace, and households with multiple pets, every booking has helped me build my knowledge and confidence. I’m proud to have received excellent reviews for my reliable, friendly, and caring approach. Sadly, I lost my beloved 16-year-old cat in July 2026, who had been part of my family for many years. That experience has only strengthened my understanding of how much our pets mean to us and how important it is to leave them with someone you can genuinely trust. I’m currently looking for a new full-time career, which means I have much greater flexibility for bookings and can often accommodate daytime care, longer stays, and last-minute requests. Animals genuinely bring me joy, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. My priority is always to make sure they feel safe, happy, comfortable, and loved while you’re away, giving you complete peace of mind. I work full-time Monday to Friday in Basingstoke and live in Newbury, with occasional days in Reading, so I can cover a wide area for pet care. I’m mainly available for weekend stays and evening visits during the week for feeding, playtime, and cuddles. For weekday stays, I’m out between 8:30 AM and 6:30 PM (dependant on the location) but your pets will always get plenty of love before and after! I also offer dog walks in the Basingstoke area on weekdays, as that’s where I work (9:30–5:30). I do my best to follow each pet’s routine and keep things as comfortable and consistent as possible! Your pets safety will always be my top priority. At home, my own cat is kept safe with a magnetic tag cat flap that only opens for her, and our garden is fully fenced to prevent any escapes. After discovering gap under the bush where animals could slip through to the neighbours, we quickly secured it with chicken wire - problem solved! I believe in creating a calm and secure environment where pets feel comfortable and cared for. I follow consistent routines, maintain a healthy diet for my own pets, and always use positive reinforcement - praise and the occasional treat - for good behaviour. You can trust that your furry friend will be in a safe and loving space while you are away.

About: As well as owning my own two dogs for seven years, for three years aboard, I worked in local dog pounds. I have helped care for and trained numerous different dogs. I have trained them with the basics such as sit, wait, and down, I have also helped them with anxiety issues, social issues, and learning to trust humans again. During this time, I also fostered 10+ dogs, from tiny puppies to dogs that were 5 or 6 years old, with health issues. I thoroughly enjoyed my time spending time with these dogs, nurturing them and showing them what a loving environment is about. I currently work part time and am able to fit in pet visits and walking Mon - Fri 9.30 -14.30 dog walking. I am also available every other weekend as well. I can easily crate your dog if they have anxiety issues and require a safe space. I am respectful of a dog / cat in their home environment and any rules you have for your home I will adhere to and respect. If you require muddy paws wiped before entry, a groom before bed, biscuits laid out before I leave them please let me know.

About: I have had dogs throughout my whole life and have walked many of my friends of families dogs consistently throughout the past 3 years. I have had experience walking a small group of dogs daily for a more than a few months, have walked dogs solo including bigger breeds. I have taken dogs solo and in a group to dog parks for extra exercise. I have also owned cats for 7 years and am experienced with their behaviour and know how to acknowledge their needs and give them the appropriate attention. I’m currently working part time on a 6 hour contract in retail, I’m looking to make a little extra money to be able to get by after finishing college this year and this is a perfect opportunity for me. I own a cat and dog sit my sister’s dog regularly while she is at work. My cat gets all the attention in the world, he is an active cat and likes to be left alone sometimes, owning a cat like this made me aware of the signs that a cat needs space. I have walked my sister’s dog many times over 2 years, she can be unhappy around other dogs sometimes so I know how to deal with a dog that is stressed. I provide a safe and enjoyable environment for any animal I encounter.

About: A dog loving hooman who just can't get enough of the little rascals. A dog photographer recently moved from Anglesey to Berkshire with experience in owning my own dogs from Mastiffs to Doberman, and mostly rescues. Some absolute terrors in need of full time affection and training. I enjoy looking after dogs and learning about the personalities of each breed. I have gone through extensive (and very expensive) dog behaviousral training for previous rescue dogs over the years and spend a lot of time leanring about training techniques through well known online trainers. I find the different techniques interesting from trainer to trainer and enjoy training dogs as directed by owners. I'm happy walking an absolute nightmare large breed (ahem Doberman) to doing tricks with a well trained Collie off the lead. Always following the rules set by the owner. I have three dog loving children, age 5-11, who all want a dog, so also enjoy the walks, training and cuddles offered. They are well versed in approaching dogs carefully and not overcrowding etc. If you need a good friendly, safe location for you dog then give me a shout. We also have a fantastic woodland at the rear of the house, perfect for short or long walks without needing to drive to a dog park. Also have a good sized garden with 6ft fence perimeter set on a private housing estate. I am a photographer and due to recently moving to the area, don;t have too much of a busy schedule. I also work from home most of the time. So, I am generally at home Mon-Fri. As mentioned, I have a fab walking area nearby, a good sized garden, and I can follow guidelines set by the owner. Crating, leaving alone, short walks/long walks, whatever you require.

About: I've had pets all my life. Rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and cats as a child. As an adult I've owned a house rabbit, 2 cats and currently have a dog and a cat. One of my cats sadly passed away with Feline Cystitis and he needed lots of medications. One of my dogs has allergies and sometimes needs medications for this. I'm a qualified nurse, who is comfortable with looking after unwell pets. I am currently on maternity leave. I am at home full time until November 2026. So I am available frequently. I may need to bring my daughter with me for some visits, but this would be discussed beforehand. I have a 6ft fence around the garden. Dogs are very much welcome on the sofa to be comfortable. I live near a huge woods and lots of lovely dog walks.

About: I’m a kind hearted, well Grounded person. I love to explore and be outside. Living next to the woods has given me the chance to go on adventures with my spaniel Bolly, and her other doggy friends. I have always been fond of the idea of having my own kennels or boarding home for dogs as I see dogs as a way to bring happiness into a home. It is just my mum and I in the house so it’s quite quiet. And living with such an amazing space for dogs to run around and play in seems like such a waste. We have a generous back garden with a woods for walks and a park just up the road. We also have plenty of sleeping space for large dogs and small. So I have wxperience training dogs also. It can be a real task for those who work full time, and that is something I would be happy to help with. For those that do work a regular 9-5 job, I am happy to pop in and make sure everything is okay and take your pooch out for a stroll. Pet care is my primary focus so I am available 24/7 with the exception of some weekends and planned trips of course. Always open to amending my timetable where necessary I have a large enclosed garden that backs off to the woods - these are at our disposal which is fabulous. We also have an enclosed dog run for feeding etc.

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other West Berkshire pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Berkshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
