“Cluny was a great pet sitter for us. Very time flexible and kept good communication. This was our first time using Rover/online pet sitter services and we had a fantastic experience thanks to Cluny. We would recommend the service in the future, thank you again Cluny!”

About: I live in Abingdon with my husband and our two children, and we share our home with our adorable dog, Coco. She is well socialised and loves meeting and playing with new friends. As a family, we enjoy getting out for walks both locally and in the nearby countryside. We are a dog-loving household, and I would be a caring and responsible sitter for your lovable pooch. I am a teacher so available half terms and holidays. Please do check in as I usually have longer holidays than state schools. Our days consists of outside time in our garden and at least 2 walks. Lots of cuddle time in-between, of course. We have a fenced garden which is very secure. I aim to keep to your dog’s feeding and walking routine with lots of love and attention given.
“Kaye is a lovely lady and wonderful with our two dogs Ozzee and Rockee. She is reliable and caring and they both love her. I would highly recommend Kaye. She has looked after our doggies twice for drop in visits and we have booked her for house sitting in June when I know they and our house will be in safe hands.”

About: I have been a dog owner since my early childhood. I have experience looking after puppies as well as senior dogs. I currently have a very energetic dog that requires lots of walks. She is very friendly and misses a lot her companion, our dachshund that passed away last year. I am in full time employment, however I work from home twice a week, Mondays and Fridays. I am also available for dog walks and pet sitting most weekends. I can house and pet sit or do drop in visits as and when needed provided it is within a driving distance and detailed instructions are provided with regards to pet care if your pet has custom requirements.

“Isobel did a wonderful job making sure The Boy(tm) was doing well while I was gone. I got updates letting me know how he was doing and it sounds like they got on well, having shared many a chin scritch. Will certainly be considering Isobel for future cat care requirements”

“I have just returned from a 2 night stay away. Alina looked after Malka by drop in visits for 2 days which involved coming by twice a day, feeding the cat, setting up the cat feeder each time, and dealing with any 'messages' in the litter tray. My cat is curious and fairly chilled but does not tolerate affection so all of this had to be done with no reward from the cat I'm afraid. I've come back home to fine a perfectly happy and content Wonderful pusscat;;^well fed, relaxed and happy and fussy (with me - sorry Alina!). Clearly Malka has been well looked after and I can see that Alina has followed all of my instructions regardi ƁVVV ng food and care to the letter. She also sent me lots of photos while I was away! A+ Would definitely hire again, if she would have us ?”

About: I have had and loved dogs for all my life. From having just finished my rowing scholarship in the USA, I now want to delve into my other passions which is working with animals and animal care. My family has had purebreds from Rhodesian Ridgeback’s, Labradors, West Highland Terriers to rescues (that obviously are a whole range of breeds). We currently have two Romanian rescue dogs, Tora and Finn. They were both one year old when we got them and both had traumatic pasts. It has taken around a year for both of them to feel more settled and comfortable doing most things like even getting into a car. Thus, I have experience with dogs who have had a rough beginning. I am an active person and love going on hikes, jogs and camping trips with them. My favorite thing is to see any dog running around, tails up, happy and knowing I’m giving them a fun, adventure filled life that they deserve. I am available at the weekdays and weekends for walking, dog sitting and drop in visits. I am able to do longer hikes or jogs with your dogs too (if they are younger or high energy). If you leave them with me, they will have a great time, get some treats and will most likely come back to you tired and ready for a nap. I usually travel with my dogs in my dog seat cover / basket on my backseats. I will usually give my dogs treats occasionally throughout the day and probably yours too as well as making sure their water bowl is full. I will always chill with my dog too and play with them when they start getting their energy back. When I hike/ jog with my dogs, it will always be in a safe area and I usually try out new/different trails where I use an extender lead or let them off to explore (but, will obviously do whatever you would feel comfortable with in terms of on/off a lead). I will also adjust where I walk my dogs (or any dog) depending on the weather so, if it is hotter, I will usually walk them near a water source, forest or somewhere with shade. But, if it is cooler, I would more likely go to places like the ridgeway etc… where the sun would be a problem for longer walks. Your dog will most likely get muddy or wet on walks (with the crazy English weather) but, I always use towels to dry/ clean them up
About: I've helped with pets since I was a child but actively cared for dogs and cats for the last 10 years. Used to dealing with animals with prescription and lifestyle requirements, happy to discuss your pets individualities and adhere to their schedules where possible. I work from home so can be there for them when needed. HR professional working hybrid. I work in the office on Thursdays so cannot look after pets that day between 7am and 7pm but otherwise working from home throughout the week so I can be flexible all day around my video and telephone call meetings. For drop in visits, it will likely be early morning and evening with possibly an additional visit at lunch time depending on the location. I have one dog and 2 cats at home. Used to helping with medication, walking (dog only!), vet visits and feeding schedules. I understand all pets are different and look at each opportunity to meet your pets individually. I understand routine can be very important and would look to keep this for you pet (especially in your absence), if possible.

About: I’ve always been a dog person: I grew up with terriers and later rescued a collie, so I’m used to everything from cheeky, high‑energy pups to clever working breeds who need plenty of stimulation. I love long walks, playing games, and giving dogs the attention they deserve. Whether your dog needs a fun adventure or a gentle, confidence‑building stroll, I’m here to make sure they have a great time. I have a tiny cat called pepper, and greatly appreciate my wonderful friends that visit her when I am travelling. I am keen to give back and ensure that pet lovers can enjoy their travels, in the confidence that their furry friend is taken care of. I am currently exploring new roles following a recent redundancy. I am available any day or time, but would be particularly thrilled to have some furry company during the day on weekdays. I always offer a meet and greet, to ensure I have all the necessary information, and that you are comfortable leaving your pet in my care.

About: I’ve been looking after my sisters cockapoo and my friends cockapoo and English bull terrier - either dropping in to feed and let them out or overnight stays when they’ve been away. I love looking after dogs and enjoy going on walks no matter how long. My prices outside of rover are: £35 a day, £40 a night and £14 a walk. So happy to sort payments outside of rover so it’s not as expensive. I am currently working part time so will have a lot of time to play and walk on my days off and even walk dogs before and after my shifts 🙂 I will ensure your pet is fed, walked and entertained as per instructions. Will only take on 1 pet at a time for overnight stays so they can have my full attention and love unless they are from the same household then I am happy with more than 1

Carolina is an absolute life-saver!! We were delayed by a day arriving into the UK but our pets were already dropped off and needed to be checked on. Carolina immediately replied to my request and was available on short notice. She walked my dog, fed both babies, gave them water, cleaned out our cat's crate as she had peed from her long travel and just truly went above and beyond anything I could've asked for! She went on to do a few more dropins giving us peace of mind during our stressful travel! I will gladly book her in the future and would highly recommend her services to anyone in need! She is the best!!

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
