I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received! From the moment she came, I felt completely at ease. When I came back, my dog was not only happy and healthy, but she had also learned some adorable new tricks! It’s clear how much love and attention she got every day. The communication was excellent, and I could tell she was well taken care of the whole time. I highly recommend this pet sitter to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving person for their furry family member. Thank you so much I’ll definitely book her again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I would highly recommend Jodie. She was very communicative and bonded well with my elderly dog (15). She kept me informed regularly including photos and left the house in a very good condition - clean and tidy. She appeared to be very responsive to my dog's needs and I returned to a happy dog. I have rebooked for my next trip away.

Chelsea loved Kaye from the moment they met. Kaye looked after Chelsea so well and sent me daily updates, videos and photos of their daily walks/adventures and all the other routine stuff. We came back to a very happy and content little girl! Kaye also looked after our home beautifully and left it immaculate. I can fully recommend her and will definitely be using her services again.

Hannah was amazing with Nova, who is a very shy and nervous dog. She was so patient and gave her the time and space she needed to settle and feel safe. As this was the first time we had left Nova with someone outside our close family for a full week, Hannah’s daily updates, photos and video, were incredibly reassuring. It was lovely to see that Nova was very quickly happy and comfortable in her care. Hannah also left the house sparkling clean and, most thoughtfully of all, she waited for our return home on a Sunday night to make sure Nova had her dinner and that we did not have any issues with our return flight. Hannah's attention and dedication to making us and our dog feel reassured during our time apart was beyond expectation.

Jess came to our rescue (whilst on holiday) at the very last minute and was excellent. Our dog Luna is initially nervous of new people, so we agreed with Jess to do a meet up beforehand. Luna accepted Jess very quickly, and clearly had a very happy week. We would highly recommend Jess.

Francesca was so helpful on a recent trip that went awry because of conflict in the Middle East. Before travelling she took the time to visit and familiarise herself with local walks and to get to know our dogs needs. When our travel plans were disrupted she was incredibly flexible and provided looked after our two dogs for a few impromptu day trips. She is caring and conscientious and fun. We would not hesitate to recommend her.

About: Hi, I’m Emma! I’m an experienced dog owner with two friendly rescue dogs and a passion for providing safe, enriching care. Whether your dog joins us for a walk, daycare or overnight stay, they’ll receive the same love, care and attention as my own dogs. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up surrounded by animals and even had the privilege of helping train guide dog puppies, which developed my understanding of patience, positive reinforcement and dog behaviour. I now have two amazing rescue dogs who are both neutered, friendly and love meeting other dogs. We enjoy lots of walks and adventures, so your dog will have plenty of exercise, but I also believe mental stimulation is just as important. I love teaching tricks, reinforcing commands and encouraging good manners through positive training — your dog may even come home having learnt a new skill! My aim is to make every owner feel completely at ease while they’re away. I provide regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your dog is safe, happy and enjoying their own holiday too. I’d be very happy to answer any questions and arrange a meet-and-greet. I work a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide plenty of companionship, regular walks and enrichment throughout the day. Mental stimulation feeding every day. Most days the door is open for the dogs to enjoy the garden - they tend to sleep for most of the day after their morning walk. I have a secure fenced garden for those who are looking for boarding / sitting. An estate car with dog guard for those who are looking for pick ups / walks. Always carry a dog bag with poo bags, treats, toys, camera and have a 10m long line for those who don’t have a great recall.

Sam looked after Otto for two nights whilst my wife and I went to a nearby festival. Sam was great communicating in advance of the day, and I was comfortable that we would look after Otto at our house - he was considerate that this was the first time someone else had stopped in the house to look after him without his usual ‘pack’ around! Same sent photos and took Otto on plenty of exercise including socialising with another dog. I’d definitely use Sam again, and it was obvious that Otto had a great time with him!

About: I am an experienced pet carer with years of pet care under my belt. Grew up with cats and dogs, currently have two kitties and a couple of garden hedgehogs. I work as a freelancer on my own schedule so I have a lot of flexibility. I am often available on short notice. My cats are very communicative and their demands are always met! My garden is fenced and my home is pet safe. My girls have many comfy nap spots. Ruby likes a lot of cuddles, Delilah likes them sometimes. She likes being groomed but is a bit of a nibbler!!

We had a fantastic experience with Jo and Luke wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. They were incredibly responsive and communicative throughout, sending regular photos and updates which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. They were also happy to arrange a meet and greet beforehand, which made both us and Blue feel much more comfortable. Blue is currently recovering from an injury, so her care is more involved than usual. They took the time to understand her routine, listened carefully to all of our instructions, and showed great patience and care in looking after her needs. It was clear they genuinely wanted to make sure she was comfortable and well cared for. We came home to a clean and tidy house, and most importantly, Blue was happy, relaxed and content. We would happily book with them again.

About: Although in relatively new to Rover, I have hands on experience caring for and walking a young, energetic Golden Retriever. I’m comfortable handling larger breeds and enjoy taking dogs on enriching walks suited to their individual needs. I’m passionate about dog behaviour and training and I enjoy learning more about how dogs communicate and what makes them feel happy, safe and confident. I’m patient, reliable and understand how important trust is when leaving your dog in someone else’s care. I’ll always follow your instructions carefully and keep you updated. I’m available mainly on weekends and enjoy spending time outdoors making them a great opportunity for longer walks and one on one care. Weekdays I’m available mainly after 5pm depending on my schedule. I currently provide pet care in your home where your dog can stay comfortable in their familiar surroundings and routine. I’ll take them time to understand your dog’s individual needs including feeding times, play, walks, rest and any other instructions you’d like me to follow. I’m also happy to send regular photos and updates so you can have peace of mind

About: 8 years of experience with Rover having moved to Wolvercote, which is a lovely, dog friendly area. There are great walks, meadows, and riverside paths right nearby, and we enjoy being out in all weathers. I have a 9.5-year-old Beagle named Louis. I rescued him eight years ago and we have been together ever since. Having Louis for so long means I have seen him go through every stage of life, from a young, energetic dog to a senior. Because of this, I really understand what dogs need at different ages, whether they need a lot of play and exercise or a slower, gentler pace. I live in a bungalow, which is great for dogs because there are no stairs to climb. This makes it very safe and comfortable, especially for older dogs. A little about me: I am 39 years old and love being outdoors. I enjoy hiking and have done trips like climbing Ben Nevis and trekking in the Amazon. I have a degree in History of Art from UCL and a Master’s in Psychology, and I used to run a cycling tour business. I am also DBS checked and have done some online courses in dog training and dog body language to help me understand how dogs communicate. Whether your dog is shy, energetic, or quiet, I will make sure they feel welcome and get the same care and attention I give to Louis. Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions!

About: I’ve looked after pets for over 3 years now, I am currently on “Trusted House Sitters” and have multiple 5 star reviews to show how capable and flexible I can be. I work fully remote so you’ll know your pets always have company and quality time with myself. I can do as little as 1 day or as long as 2/3 weeks at a time, I’m now looking to try Rover to be able to do this more full time. I currently work fully remote full time so will always be available to care for your pets needs whether that’s going a on a midday walk, making sure they’re fed on time and especially to help with any medication at a specific time. I have years of experience looking after all sorts of animals and will always be there to ask questions and send photos of the great times we’ll have together! I currently live at home with 2 cats and a sausage dog so have the experience to keep the peace with them all running around. As you know Dachshunds are one of the most stubborn breeds so if I can look after Dougie, I’m sure I can handle everything!

We have two rescue collies who can be a handful at times. Danielle is the only person we trust to look after them when family members aren’t available to assist. She is professional, kind and great with them both. She provides us with updates and M&M love her… so, it makes us feel so much more comfortable leaving them knowing they are in her hands. We cannot recommend her enough☺️

Craig did an excellent job looking after our cat and giant breed Scottish Deerhound, they seemed very happy and well looked after on our return from a week long trip. Received plenty of updated and photos for peace of mind. Will 100% book Craig again if we need sitting services in the future, and I am sure our pets would love to see him again. Thanks again Craig!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Vale of White Horse walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vale of White Horse choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
