“Lydia arrived on time, and it was clear Ivy was delighted to see her again after the "meet and greet". She sent photos, and let me know that Ivy had taken her tablets, ( this sometimes takes a few minutes gentle encouragement). She played with Ivy, sent pictures of walks. I would happily recommend her and would book her again myself to care for Ivy.”

About: Daily routine care for my pet rabbit and experience with cat sitting and occasional dog sitting for friends and family. I have also had various small pets previously. I’ve recently left education and am now working part-time with minimal commitments through the week so I am available for both long and short stays! I love animals and give them my full attention and respect, lots of hugs and cuddles! I’m quite active and hyper aware of my surroundings meaning that I’m always looking out for anything that would put me or the pets in harms way.

About: I opened my pet services business 4 years ago, it was the best thing I ever did! Specialising in group walks in a safe and secure environment. Meaning dogs of all recall ability can socialise and run around with no worry of them running off. Also offering overnight pet care and pop ins for all types of animals. I own a pet care business so my daily and weekly routine literally revolves around other people’s pets. If your dog is friendly with others they are more than welcome to join me on my group walks to minimise time alone. I never leave a dog longer than 4 hours alone and will pop back for toilet breaks etc. I offer pet sitting in the owners home, therefore everything for your dog stays the same. I will follow a set routine if your pet has one and offer the same boundaries that you do for your pet.

“Madison was an absolute star. She came and looked after Eddie while we were at a wedding. She sent us photo updates of him and replied very quickly letting us know he was okay. The house was left clean and tidy. Madison is lovely and caring and looked after our boy very well. Thank you so much xx”

“Jayne was excellent when looking after our 11 month old Max. We would definitely recommend her as a dog sitter. We booked a last minute sitting with Jayne and because we couldn't do a face to face meeting beforehand, Jayne made sure we had a video call so she could introduce herself, learn all about Max and ourselves and make sure we were comfortable. On the day, Jayne was wonderful with our pup. She sent us regular updates to ease our minds and it was clear that Max had a lovely time with her. She let us know what he got up to and if there was anything we needed to be aware of before she left. We are definitely going to be asking Jayne to dog sit for us again in the future!”

About: I’m a very experienced and reliable pet sitter with an extensive background in house and pet sitting across multiple platforms. I’ve spent years looking after both cats and dogs, including periods of full-time sitting around the world, and I now also offer dog walking and drop-in visits for both cats and dogs. I’ve cared for many different pets, from senior cats and shy rescues to high-energy Border Collies and laid-back Bulldogs. I’m able to adapt to different personalities, routines, and needs, and I always make sure each pet feels safe, relaxed, and well looked after. It's my top priority! I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. Please note: I operate within a 2-hour arrival window for cat drop-ins to allow for efficient scheduling when I have multiple bookings. My main job is exclusively online (I've been a freelance translator and proofreader for over 10 years), and I set my own working hours, so I am able to do walks and drop-ins at any time (and several times) during the day, offering you the flexibility you need. I have several years of house-sitting and pet care experience, with consistent 5 star reviews highlighting both my pet care and how well I look after owners’ homes. Some of these reviews are available in my gallery. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I stick to their usual routine to keep things as familiar and stress-free as possible. I take time to understand each pet’s needs. I’m respectful of your home, clean and tidy, and keep you updated with regular messages and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. With me, you can rest assured that your pet(s) will be in safe hands and will be loved and well looked after. I love animals, and their happiness, safety and wellbeing is always my first priority!

About: I have had dogs and have been around dogs for my entire life. I have also volunteered at veterinary clinics, which included tasks from dogs-walking, medicine administration to minor surgeries. I'm hence able to provide exceptional care for dogs; even doggies who aren't feeling their best or have special needs. I have a pug who is well-behaved, loving and gets along well with other dogs. He is family and I will treat your pets the same way too! :) I am able to work from home to attend to pets. In general, pets are not left unattended for more than 1-2 hours maximum. I love walking dogs as a mental health break. I have an unfenced small garden and a huge shared green park just outside. It’s a great space for runs, playing fetch and long, green walks. We also have a large foldable crate if needed and we allow pets up on the furniture for comfort.
“Bradley came and looked after Archie who has separation anxiety this evening and was fantastic. After meeting him last week, Archie was super excited to see Bradley again and felt really comfortable. What was excellent was Archie was comfortable enough to keep his normal evening routine of food, crazy time, rest time and being chilled. Bradley kept us up to date with messages and pictures which was highly appreciated. So all I can say is thank you Bradley for allowing us the freedom to have an evening out together just the two of us for the first time since February! Would highly recommend Bradley looking after your beloved pooch! 5 stars and more!”

“Alison always keeps me updated. I feel very blessed knowing Alfie is well loved and looked after while I am away and would strongly recommend Alison without hesitation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

About: I have over 6 years’ experience living with and caring for dogs in a family home and regularly look after my parents’ dog in my own home. I’ve also helped care for pets for family and friends, including feeding, walks, playtime and keeping to their usual routines. I genuinely enjoy being around animals and understand that every pet is different. My home is already well set up for pets and I know how important it is for owners to feel comfortable knowing their pet is safe, happy and well looked after while they’re away. I am mostly available for boarding and sitting over the weekend but my partner also works from home and has flexible working arrangements during the week and would be able to look after a pet from our home where needed or come and visit your pet to let them out for loo breaks and take them for walks. My partner and I dog sit frequently at my own home so the house is safe and well equipped for dog/pet sitting. There is nothing particularly fancy I would be concerned about a pet damaging we have been used to all kinds of messes. The house is locked, there is plenty of clear floor space and we have a sizable fully fenced off garden that a dog can be let outside freely without need for close monitoring. I am confident dog sitting in other homes also, being responsive to any mess, leaving the home in good condition and making sure the owners dog or cat is looked after and feels relaxed.
“Perfect! My dog absolutely adored her and everything was great with communication and updates on our pet and home while we were abroad! Wouldn’t think twice about booking again, Bea is awesome.”

Lydia was amazing, so.accomodating and caring and loving to the dogs 🫶 The house was left in spotless condition and bedding washed and on the line! So so grateful to have felt so comfortable to leave them in such caring hands. Thank you gazillions. P.S the silton and brocoli soup was amazing 🙏

This was our first time using Rover and im so glad we found Alice! Communication before & during our time away was great. We received updates about how Frank was getting on so we didnt need to worry whilst away from him. Alice and Jack took fantastic care of both our home and our dog and we couldn't be happier with them. We came back to a gleaming home and very happy dog!

Alex always takes excellent care of my dog Archie. She is friendly, caring and very responsible - follows his normal routine, gives his medication and keeps me updated with lots of cute pictures. She also makes sures she looks after the house too, watering plants and putting my bins out.

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Swindon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
