“Highly recommend Deborah who made the effort to meet & greet and walk our dog before dog-sitting over several days. Meeting Deborah gave me the reassurance to go on holiday. And it was no surprise that I returned to a relaxed, happy dog that had been walked regularly- and a clean home. Thank-you Deborah”

About: Hi I’m Kit! A friendly and reliable sitter who will take the best care of your pets. I am available for dog walking, pop in visits and short overnight pet sits - but please don’t hesitate to message me with any enquiries! I have always had dogs in my life, I grew up with 6 Afghan Hounds, and now have a mischievous Border Collie/Retriever mix of my own, Wes. I have had Wes from a puppy and loved every second of it! From walking him everyday to teaching him tricks, I’m very capable looking after high energy dogs at every age. I understand not every animal is energetic, so if you have a more senior pet who enjoys a slower pace of life, I am happy to cater to their needs too! As a dog parent myself, I understand you want complete peace of mind with your dog sitter. I will send regular updates and assist pets needs however you need me to! I work from home Monday to Friday so am relatively flexible with walks, pop ins and sits that are local to me. During my visits, I am happy to play lots of games to keep them stimulated and entertained. For walks I can take your dog on local familiar routes or on long explorations! Additionally I can make sure wind down time is fully appreciated with time in the sofa! I will always keep you posted during my visits with your pets. Please let me know about any special requirements that your pets may have so I can cater to their specific needs and provide the best care possible. I would also be grateful if you could share any behaviours like how they are on walks around other dogs and people and so on.
“Carol was an excellent sitter. From our first interaction, Carol came across very easy going and very accommodating to meet all of our needs. She did a great job looking after, keeping us updated. Dogs had plenty of walks, despite one of ours being very over excitable and pulling on the lead still being a work in progress! We came back to a very clean and tidy home and two happy doggies. We would definitely recommend Carol. Thank you 😊”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter. From the moment I met Holly, I felt completely at ease leaving my dogs in her care. Holly was incredibly attentive, kind, and clearly have a genuine love for animals. My dogs were not only well looked after, but truly happy and relaxed when I returned—which says everything. I really appreciated the regular updates, photos, and little notes about how things were going. It made such a difference knowing they were in safe, caring hands. Holly went above and beyond to keep routines consistent and make sure my dogs felt comfortable and loved. I would wholeheartedly recommend Holly to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and genuinely passionate about caring for animals. I’ll definitely be booking Holly again!”

“We were a little apprehensive because we had never left Bernard with a house sitter before. We need not have worried! Margarita and Bernard got on well together from the beginning. We got regular updates and photos and it was clear they were enjoying their time together. When we returned the house was just as we left it. I have no hesitation in recommending Margarita.”

About: I've got lots of experience with dogs having always had them and I have a background working as a groom and rider, giving me plenty of hands on experience caring for, handling and understanding animals. I currently have my own German Shorthaired Pointer, and regularly do scent work and tracking with him. I particularly enjoy dogs that need plenty of exercise, mental stimulation and an understanding of their individual personality. However I also love the smaller or more chilled guys! I’m comfortable handling energetic, strong or working breed dogs and understand that every dog has different needs. Whether your dog needs an energetic walk, a relaxed companion, or someone trustworthy to care for them in their own home, I’ll treat them as an individual rather than taking a one size fits all approach. I’m reliable, responsible and attentive, and I will follow your dog's usual routine closely, the more instructions the better! I offer dog walking, drop in visits and house sitting in and around Bath. I am currently unemployed so have lots of time and flexibility! My dog goes on one to two walks a day with lots of training thrown in however this has changed a lot with the heatwave. If I need to be with your dogs for the entire day this is fine as I live with family who can look after my dog. I will follow all instructions left to ensure your dog is kept in as much of a routine as possible. On walks I would use fenced areas or keep your dog on a lead or long line unless you are confident with their recall. I understand the warning signs in dog interactions and when to move on, as a general rule I stay away from other dogs unless all dogs show happy friendly signs. I am aware of risks such as bloat, heatstroke and poison and tend to be very over cautious when it comes to their health.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Wiltshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wiltshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
