“Deborah was really attentive and understanding with our dog Maya. She had great knowledge of nervous dogs and made us feel at ease that she knew exactly how to care for Maya. I’d love to have her watch Maya again anytime!”

“Carol did an excellent job of taking care of our dogs Winnie and Elsie and also of our house. We got home to an immaculate house and two happy dogs. She kept in touch with regular updates while we were away which was reassuring. We have no hesitation in recommending her to other pet owners.”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter. From the moment I met Holly, I felt completely at ease leaving my dogs in her care. Holly was incredibly attentive, kind, and clearly have a genuine love for animals. My dogs were not only well looked after, but truly happy and relaxed when I returned—which says everything. I really appreciated the regular updates, photos, and little notes about how things were going. It made such a difference knowing they were in safe, caring hands. Holly went above and beyond to keep routines consistent and make sure my dogs felt comfortable and loved. I would wholeheartedly recommend Holly to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and genuinely passionate about caring for animals. I’ll definitely be booking Holly again!”

About: We have been exchanging our home for over 20 years for holidays including caring for exchange partners pets. In addition we have also been pet sitting a wide variety of animals for many years. We have had various animals of our own too. Our elderly cat has recently passed away - we are experienced with elderly pet care including giving medication. Steve is retired and has plenty of time to walk and play with your animal during the day. Sarah is working full time but is flexible and would work from your house - she will typically do the early morning feed, let out and walk and after work. Because we live in your house your pet’s routine and surroundings never need to change - we adapt our routine to theirs. We find this means your pet is far more accepting of your absence and of our presence!

About: Hi I’m Kit! A friendly and reliable sitter who will take the best care of your pets. I am available for dog walking, pop in visits and short overnight pet sits - but please don’t hesitate to message me with any enquiries! I have always had dogs in my life, I grew up with 6 Afghan Hounds, and now have a mischievous Border Collie/Retriever mix of my own, Wes. I have had Wes from a puppy and loved every second of it! From walking him everyday to teaching him tricks, I’m very capable looking after high energy dogs at every age. I understand not every animal is energetic, so if you have a more senior pet who enjoys a slower pace of life, I am happy to cater to their needs too! As a dog parent myself, I understand you want complete peace of mind with your dog sitter. I will send regular updates and assist pets needs however you need me to! I work from home Monday to Friday so am relatively flexible with walks, pop ins and sits that are local to me. During my visits, I am happy to play lots of games to keep them stimulated and entertained. For walks I can take your dog on local familiar routes or on long explorations! Additionally I can make sure wind down time is fully appreciated with time in the sofa! I will always keep you posted during my visits with your pets. Please let me know about any special requirements that your pets may have so I can cater to their specific needs and provide the best care possible. I would also be grateful if you could share any behaviours like how they are on walks around other dogs and people and so on.

About: Hi, I’m Chanel, the owner of Paws & Care Trowbridge 🐶🐱 I’m a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter who genuinely loves animals of all shapes and sizes. I understand that leaving your pets with someone else can be a big decision, so I always aim to provide the same love, attention, and care that they receive from you at home. I offer pet sitting in your own home, dog walking, feeding visits, and companionship, ensuring your pets can stay in a familiar environment while you are away. I take the time to get to know each pet’s individual routine, personality, and needs, whether that’s long walks, playtime, administering medication (where appropriate), or simply lots of cuddles and company. Over the years I’ve cared for a wide variety of animals, from energetic puppies to senior dogs, cats, birds, and other small pets. Every animal is different, and I pride myself on adapting my care to suit each one, giving owners complete peace of mind while they’re away. Communication is very important to me, so I regularly send updates, photos, and messages throughout your booking, allowing you to relax knowing your pets are happy, safe, and well looked after. Whether you’re away for a few hours, a weekend, or a longer holiday, I’d love the opportunity to care for your pets as if they were my own. I look forward to meeting you and your furry (or feathered!) family members. I run my own cleaning business which seems to work really well with pet sitting. You will always come back to a clean tidy home as well as a happy pet When dog sitting in your home, I follow your pet’s usual routine to help them feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I make sure they get plenty of walks, playtime, and cuddles, along with fresh water, meals at their regular times, and any medication if needed. I keep their environment clean and calm, and send you regular updates and photos so you know they’re happy and well cared for. My goal is to make sure your dog feels loved, secure, and stress-free until you return.

About: I have always had a passion for Animals. Even as a small child I was fascinated by animals of any type. At one point I had 3 dogs a cat and a hampster. In fact I refused to go to the dentist unless I had another pet!! 😂 Since then my passion for animals has grown. 15 years ago I decided that I would like to become a dog groomer. I have been doing this ever since and still love it. Since my Family are all grown up and flown the nest I decided it would be nice to do pet sitting as well which I enjoy very much. My beautiful dog Poppy was put to sleep 2 years ago and since then I have decided not to have another pet of my own for now. I get the enjoyment of looking after other people’s. I hope you will consider me to look after your precious pets. I can assure you I will love them like they are my own.. x I have recently become unemployed so I have found myself with a lot of free time and what better thing to do then spend my time with your gorgeous pets. It’s my passion and the thing that makes me the happiest. I would love the opportunity to look after your pets. I can assure you they will be well cared for and loved like they are my own. So I live in a 2 bedroom apartment. I don’t have a garden but I do have a lovely outdoor balcony. A perfect space for your dog to chill and lap up the sunshine. My surrounding area is mainly fields and beautiful walks just outside my door. I love to walk and will happily walk your dog as requested. I am not precious about my home and if you are happy for them to sleep on the sofa then so am i. I want your pet to feel at home. I am also happy to look after your pets in your home. I know how important this can be for some dogs especially if they suffer with anxiety. Being in the comfort of their own home is usually the best solution for them. I am very flexible and happy to fit in with your pets requirements.
“She was lovely and great at communicating what our girls were up too. She also sent us some cute photos of how they all were getting on. I hope she is willing to help us out again as the dogs looked well when we returned home. And the house was also in good order, which is such a welcome relief.”

I am currently working part time so I have plenty of opportunities to devote time to dog walking, playing and quality time with your pet Please communicate your pets needs. It’s important they feel safe and relaxed in my company and their environment. I can cater to all needs big or small.

“Naomi was wonderful with our girl Hecate, she gave regular updates to the best of her ability as Hecate decided to give her a bit of a hard time. She was very upfront with everything and there wasn't an issue at all despite our cat being antisocial We would definitely hire Naomi again!”

“Monika was the perfect sitter, Missy loved her (as evidenced by the fact that she didn't even notice me walking out of the door) and she is conscientious, tidy and punctual. What's more, she enjoys walking so you need never worry that your dog is not getting enough exercise. We will certainly be using her again.”

“Margarita looked after our very old and nervous dog with real care - this meant that we were able to go away sure that he was being cared for, which was completely invaluable and meant we weren't worried. She is excellent - thank you Margarita!”

“Katie did a wonderful job babysitting our dog - he's a nervous boy but he warmed to Katie and her partner really quickly. They sent lots of updates and when we got home, he was happy and settled. Would definitely hire again :)”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wiltshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
