“Ron had a fantastic time with Alyssa and Julian. As I had only recently adopted him, I was naturally a little anxious about leaving him, but I needn't have worried at all. They showed Ron so much care, kindness, and understanding, which helped him settle in quickly and enjoy his stay. Throughout the two weeks, I received plenty of photos and videos that reassured me he was happy and well cared for, allowing me to fully relax and enjoy my holiday. I would have no hesitation in asking Alyssa and Julian to look after Ron again in the future. Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of him.”
About: I have had dogs all of my adult life (large and small). I'm also a registered veterinary nurse which means I'm experienced in all aspects of dog care. I work part time in a veterinary practice but my husband who is a massive dog lover is retired and is home every day. There is always someone home to be with the dogs. We enjoy walking together. I have a fenced off secure grass garden which your lovely dog will enjoy, I'm willing to crate your dog if required. Your dog will be very much a part of the family.

“This was our first time using Rover and leaving our puppy with anyone. Diana and her husband quickly put our minds at rest on meeting, with their warm welcome. Their dog Coco is adorable and patient. Our puppy Toffee soon decided she loved their home and invited herself to Coco's toys and later on her bed! She enjoyed their company, the sofas, large garden and the surrounding fields for walks. Toffee had such an enjoyable holiday we got a brief welcome on our return before she went back to Diana and off to the toys and Coco again! We were absolutely delighted no separation anxiety. My only reluctance putting this review is Diana will get very busy and fully booked, as now we know where Toffee will happily stay when we go away again 😁 Thanks so much for all the care and photo updates throughout the stay. She answered all my questions clearly and was obviously someone who not only loves dogs but really understands them and is able to get the best out of them. Sophie had great communication from the start, replying to our booking request very quickly. She put us at ease at the initial meet & greet walk & Dexter took to her straight away. Nothing was too much trouble at all - Dex can be quite fussy & wa had great photo updates frequently so we knew how he was getting on. He looked like he was particularly enjoying the forest walks on the long lead. Sophie obviously loves looking after pets & this shines through with the care & consideration she gives. About: An experienced dog (& horse) owner loving dogs of ALL kinds. Particular interest in training and also in the rehabilitation of rescue dogs. I love caring for dogs in every stage of their life whether it’s a brand new puppy or an OAPooch. Working from home on flexible hours, I will be able to spend lots of time with your beloved pooch in between riding and caring for my horse, my own dog Maggie & my sons. I have a large car that can fit a crate in to take your dog for walks further afield. It also means that I can do home visits to play, let your dog out in the garden or just sit with them and give them some love for a time. I can also offer to take them to the groomers & stay with them or pick them up afterwards.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
