“Susana is very friendly and lovely. She agreed to take our dog at short notice and was flexible with drop off/pick up times. She sent us pictures throughout so we were confident our dog was happy and cared for at all times. We were worried leaving him as he can get a bit anxious. 5 stars! Will definitely be using Susana next time”

About: Daily routine care for my pet rabbit and experience with cat sitting and occasional dog sitting for friends and family. I have also had various small pets previously. I’ve recently left education and am now working part-time with minimal commitments through the week so I am available for both long and short stays! I love animals and give them my full attention and respect, lots of hugs and cuddles! I’m quite active and hyper aware of my surroundings meaning that I’m always looking out for anything that would put me or the pets in harms way.
“We’re very grateful to Joanna. We was very relieved that she sent us photos and videos frequently. All of our requests were also fulfilled. She is an ideal sitter!”

“Alexia and husband were very friendly and communicated extremely well throughout the stay. We had feedback and pictures every day. They have responded very well to Rusty’s needs even through a hard heatwave and it really looked like he was feeling like he belonged to that family. He looked well integrated in his pictures. Their dogs were friendly and accepted Rusty well.”

“Lidiya was fantastic looking after our cockerpoo Ralph. While we were away she send us many photos, videos and updates so we could enjoy our holiday knowing Ralph was being well looked after. Lidiya went above and beyond and even carried on our training with Ralph. She seemed to understand Ralph and his anxiety and gave him lots of cuddles and attention. We will definitely be booking with Lidiya again.”

“Penyo and his family took great care of my Rolo. He kept me updated with pictures, took him for walks and played with him. Rolo looked very happy and content It was lovely to meet him and i would highly recommend him and will definitely use his services in the future.”

“Sigita and her family were fantastic and looked after our little girl whilst we were away. Noomi got lot of attention, cuddles and play time with Lily and Sigita’s family. We received multiple photos and updates, that clearly showed that Noomi was very happy and in great hands.”

About: I’m a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a genuine love for animals and their wellbeing. I’m experienced in caring for pets, including administering medication, monitoring health. Alongside my professional skills, I’m patient, attentive, and treat every pet as if they were my own. You can feel confident your pet will be safe, happy, and well cared for in my hands. I’m working full time but have one day off during the week (this varies each week). I could do pop in visits during the week depending on location. I’m available most weekends. I have a decent sized garden for exercise and are happy to go on walks. I have no other pets currently living in my house.

“Cara was a lifesaver as we struggled to find someone to watch our two dogs. She was friendly, affectionate and patient with our "babies." Very responsive to my check-ins and provided pictures, which eased my mind during our weekend away. I would ask Cara to watch our dogs anytime we need to go on vacation and would recommend her to friends, family and fellow Rover customers.”
“Tara & Sam are wonderful! From the moment I saw their profile I knew it was a perfect match for Stan - after an upsetting stay in kennels a year ago we have been nervous about leaving him but we really didn’t need to worry! Perfect amount of updates and pictures - we were put at ease instantly. Stan was super happy to see us, but definitely not stressed or relieved, he has clearly been showered with love!! We are so relieved to have found someone we can trust with Stan! Highly recommend!!!”

“Wilf, our bouncy 9 yr old bearded collie had his first day stay with Lucy and her partner on Sunday and he had a great time. Lucy kept me updated and even asked if he was allowed a specific doggy Ice Cream as a treat. Would defo be booking again! Thanks guys!”

About: I have always grown up around dogs, we had newfoundlands when I was younger and then we had spaniels so very used to energetic dogs that need lots of stimulation. My children are always around dogs and understand how to behave around them. We home educate our girls so we are at home during the day for lots of walks and attention and plenty of love and cuddles. We live in a house with a large enclosed garden for them to run free and big grass parks nearby for walks. I am a home educator so I am at home during the day. I have 3 girls who absolutely adore dogs 10,6 & 4. I also have a king charles spaniel called Izzy who is 9 who is from with all dogs. I head out for a dog walk every morning to our local park and again after lunch. I am available every day as I am home unless we have holidays booked. I’m a stay at home mum so there will be at least 1 adult available to be with your dog at all times if required. We only have one dog at a time, or more if they are from the same household. This means your dog will have our full attention. We have a large enclosed garden so dogs are free to go outside securely.
“As usual, Marked looked after whisky for 2 fully days and she was ecstatic and happy to see him during drop off and looked very happy when we picked her up. We Definitely recommend Mark highly”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Swindon
Our Border Collie is lovely, but typical of his breed. He herds everything, pulls like a train on the lead at cars, and struggles to find his off switch. John has mountains of experience with dogs and despite knowing all the potential challenges, he happily took Jackson on while we were away for the weekend. We felt totally assured that John would be able to deal with whatever Jackson couls throw at him and we were really pleased to hear thay the most mischief he managed was stealing sofa cushions and taking them into the garden for attention. John has a lovely home, a safe enclosed garden space, he is flexible and reasonable with drop off and pick up times, and we highly recommend him to give your dog the care they need.

Penyo and his family took great care of my Rolo. He kept me updated with pictures, took him for walks and played with him. Rolo looked very happy and content It was lovely to meet him and i would highly recommend him and will definitely use his services in the future.

A very big thank you to Jo and Chris and of course Bally for taking such good care of Barney whilst we were on holiday for 10 days. Barney was a very happy doggy and enjoyed having Bally as a playmate. Jo and Chris are such a lovely and chilled couple who entertained and made sure Barney was very well cared for and who we would thoroughly recommend.

Mandy was so easy to deal with & so professional. Clearly she has lots of experience, she arranged a meeting so she could meet Jimmy. Mandy wanted to know everything possible about his habits, likes & dislikes. She communicated with me over the week I was away & put me completely at ease. My daughter picked Jimmy up today & he seems to have had a great time. I would highly recommend Mandy & definitely use her services again in the future.

Taylor took great care of Henry and Nala while we were away. She made a real effort to keep their usual routines. The regular updates meant a lot and made it easy to relax knowing they were in such good hands. We’re really grateful for everything she did and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter. Thank you again, Taylor.

This was Rosies first overnight stay away from us and I couldn't be happier with choosing Courtney. I was kept up to date with Rosies whole stay with messages and photos. Courtney maintained the routine that Rosie is used to and we collected a very content puppy who had spent a lovely night away in a home from home environment

Aaron is an amazing dog sitter and also a lovely person. We are so grateful for him looking after our Yorkie. Aaron made sure we met before our trip and asked lots of questions to get familiar with him and his routine. During our time away Aaron sent lots of photos and videos of the daily life of our pup. His young son was also great company to Zorro and when it was time to leave he was sad to say goodbye to Aaron, I could tell he was a great carer to him. Thank you so much Aaron!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
