“Rebeca has been a life saver, my dog went from very shy to like her a lot. It was the first time I left him with a stranger, both Teddy and I were anxious about the experience, but Rebeca proved to be fantastic and patient. We would highly recommend her services.”

“Susana was fantastic with Lottie, our miniature schnauzer. We were a bit anxious about never having left her with a sitter before. But Lottie was warmly welcomed by Suzana’s family. Suzana texted a photo to show us how relaxed Lottie was. It helped me relax and enjoy my time away knowing she was in good hands. We will use Suzan’s service again. I know we’ll need to book early as she is in demand. A kind, friendly service.”

“Dexter absolutely loved Ian and Sharon who were brilliant taking care of our Miniature Dachshund. We'd highly recommend their services and will definitely book with them again.”

“My experience with Lidiya and her family was absolutely outstanding! While we were on holiday abroad, Lidiya and her family welcomed our beloved Honey into their home with open arms. Honey had an incredible time playing with their friendly Labrador, which made her stay even more enjoyable. Lidiya's thoughtful provision of a dog tag with her contact details gave us immense peace of mind, knowing that Honey was always safe. The lovely family house and the warm, caring environment they provided made Honey feel right at home. We received daily updates with lots of pictures, which reassured us and kept us connected with Honey throughout our trip. The consistent communication and the loving care they showed were truly exceptional. Overall, Honey had an amazing time with Lidiya and her family, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. We highly recommend Lidiya's dog sitting service to anyone seeking a reliable, caring, and thoughtful pet sitter. Thank you, Lidiya and family, for taking such wonderful care of Honey! 🐾”

About: Daily routine care for my pet rabbit and experience with cat sitting and occasional dog sitting for friends and family. I have also had various small pets previously. I’ve recently left education and am now working part-time with minimal commitments through the week so I am available for both long and short stays! I love animals and give them my full attention and respect, lots of hugs and cuddles! I’m quite active and hyper aware of my surroundings meaning that I’m always looking out for anything that would put me or the pets in harms way.
“Whiskey had the time of his life with Joanna, her partner and of course Bally! Communication with Joanna was excellent throughout the process, and she asked for all of the necessary information about Whiskey (routine, food, commands etc) prior to boarding. Joanna sent updates, videos and pictures throughout his stay, which was lovely and put our minds at ease. Whiskey loves everyone but I have never seen him build a bond as quickly as he did with Bally. Both dogs were bereft when we had to leave but I have already rebooked for next month and will definitely use Joanna’s services going forward. In summary, a lovely couple with a lovely dog made sure my lovely dog had a lovely weekend. Thank you Joanna!!”

“Rebecca and James are both so lovely! They were incredibly helpful and kept us updated throughout, which was really reassuring as this was my first time leaving Yuki with other people. They got on really well with Yuki and handled her very well, which was especially reassuring as I was worried she might be difficult to handle. Communication was great, with clear updates and quick replies. They were also very understanding and accommodating when we were delayed with the pick-up. We’re really happy with the care Yuki received and would definitely recommend them!”

“Mandy is a great host. She had our dog for a week and he came back really happy and content. They were reapectful of our feeding routine and for his little habits. Would recommend her totally”

“Our Border Collie is lovely, but typical of his breed. He herds everything, pulls like a train on the lead at cars, and struggles to find his off switch. John has mountains of experience with dogs and despite knowing all the potential challenges, he happily took Jackson on while we were away for the weekend. We felt totally assured that John would be able to deal with whatever Jackson couls throw at him and we were really pleased to hear thay the most mischief he managed was stealing sofa cushions and taking them into the garden for attention. John has a lovely home, a safe enclosed garden space, he is flexible and reasonable with drop off and pick up times, and we highly recommend him to give your dog the care they need.”

“Sigita took care of Martin for 3 days when I’ve been away. She is lovely person and have a lot of love towards pets. I was getting updates on my boy everyday while away. Martin got a lot of attention and he absolutely loved it and I think he is missing Sigita daughter :) I will definitely will go back to Sigita and her family in a future and I will always recommend her to anyone who need good and caring pet sitter :)”

“Bethina and her family were wonderful with Honey. They took good care of Honey. I received updates, photos and videos of Honey everyday. Towards the end of the stay when honey started showing signs of separation anxiety (as we had gone away for two weeks), Bethina took extra steps to help Honey like taking her on extra walks and giving her more attention. I am very pleased with the services provided by Bethina.”

“Great sitter! We needed someone asap, and Danieli responded quickly to my initial question, and remained communicative throughout. No problems at all, I felt like my cats were safe with her. If the need arises, I'll definitely contact her again. 😊”

“Cara was absolutely amazing! We boarded our pup with her for two nights. Cara provides us consistent updates, walked our pup frequently, and sent us picture updates. I would 100% book with Cara again and put all my trust in her with my pup.”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care Mark gave our two little dogs during their 5-night and we felt completely at ease knowing they were in great hands. Mark kept in touch with regular updates and adorable photos, and it was clear our girls were having the time of their lives! They came home looking healthy, happy, and totally relaxed. It’s such a comfort to know there’s someone out there who treats them like family. Highly recommend and would definitely book with Mark again.”

2nd time with Emily and her partner, lots of photo updates and check ins. Wouldnt leave Ava with anyone else as she has definitely taken a shine to both Emily and Ali and I know she is safe and cared for at an exceptional level. Thank you so much for having her again

I could not be more grateful to Hannah (and her family) they had our bundle of energy (3 year old golden lab) for 5 days 4 nights. Hannah kept in contact leading up to and during his stay. Max went on lots of lovely walks and adventures and was made part of the family. We were kept informed with messages and pictures and at no point were we worried about our boy as we knew he was in safe hands and having the best time. Hannah will 1000% be our go to next time we need someone to watch our boy. Really could not thank Hannah and her family enough ❤️

Penyo and his family took great care of my Rolo. He kept me updated with pictures, took him for walks and played with him. Rolo looked very happy and content It was lovely to meet him and i would highly recommend him and will definitely use his services in the future.

A very big thank you to Jo and Chris and of course Bally for taking such good care of Barney whilst we were on holiday for 10 days. Barney was a very happy doggy and enjoyed having Bally as a playmate. Jo and Chris are such a lovely and chilled couple who entertained and made sure Barney was very well cared for and who we would thoroughly recommend.

Taylor took great care of Henry and Nala while we were away. She made a real effort to keep their usual routines. The regular updates meant a lot and made it easy to relax knowing they were in such good hands. We’re really grateful for everything she did and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter. Thank you again, Taylor.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
