Michandra and her family took wonderful care of Elf. He looked so happy and calm and he was having so much fun in all the lovely updates I received. Feel so lucky to have found a sitter like Michandra. Super flexible and understanding about flight changes and pick up/drop off times. She did a great job of making sure he took all his medication as needed.

Tilly had a great first stay with Sara and her family. We were a bit nervous as Tilly had recently been struggling to settle at night but Sara was really flexible about accommodating her changed routine. We got really regular updates and can see she was really spoilt during her stay!

I cannot recommend Lisa highly enough. Have used her twice now and the second time I took my dog to her he jumped out the car and ran to her door. Lisa even picked Capone up for me on our first visit as we had an early flight. Lisa is kind, great communicator and very clearly AMAZING with dogs. Absolutely brilliant find x

We left our cat, Mito, with Stacey for 3 days and couldn’t be more happy with how it went! She sent us very frequent updates and photos of his time with her, and both her and her cat bonded with him. We will definitely rebook with Stacey in the future! :)

Emmanuel and Jo took our 1 yr old puppy for 4 nights boarding at short notice and we are very grateful to them for looking after him so well! He's a very active dog and they took him out several times a day for walks and runs, kept him busy and occupied with new experiences. They kept us informed every day with photos letting us know what they'd been doing and made sure our dog felt comfortable at all times. Communication was great and we'd love to have them sit again if our dog wasn't too much for them! Thank you both 🙏

I’m so pleased to have met Jackie and her family, absolutely lovely caring people. I instantly felt at ease leaving my little Pom cross Evie with them and overnight. I had such lovely photos and updates. I could instantly tell Evie had a wonderful time and was taken care of. I have already rebooked.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole adult life and wouldn’t know what life is like without them. I have an aging Beagle called Poppy who still enjoys long walks and longer naps. I’ve recently retired and now look forward to spending time with more fur babies, giving them the love and attention they need so you can enjoy your holiday I’m a retired active woman with nothing but time on my hands and a gorgeous beagle. We walk twice a day right from the house as I’m fortunate enough to have lots of lovely walks right on my doorstep. My garden is completely enclosed and safe. My home is comfortable and dogs are welcome on the sofa for cuddles. I have a large crate available if the dog wants to use it.

Left Theo with Jing for a week and she sent me so many wonderful updates, he had a fab time with Daisy! I didn’t have to worry about him at all, because he was certainly having as much fun on his little holiday as I was! Theo needed extra medication while he was on his stay, and Jing was very understanding and did an excellent job of administering it. Thank you Jing for taking such great care of Theo, he misses you all already ❤️

Olivia and Harry had my two dogs while we were away on holiday for 5 nights. My two dogs had the best time playing with Olivia, Harry and their two labradors and were treated as one of the family. They were taken on some wonderful walks and had lots of cuddles at home. They sent lots of photos and videos while I was away, so I knew they were having the best time, and I didn’t worry one bit while I was away (which is a big thing for me to say as I’m such a worrier). I couldn’t have asked for a better place to send my boys and have already been recommending Olivia and Harry to friends. Thank you both so much!

Fabulous from start to finish! Megan was efficient, friendly and clearly loved the dogs along with her partner Craig. They asked lots of questions about feeding, routine etc. when we arrived - and the dogs had a terrific time whilst they were there (certainly judging by lots of piccies sent to us!). The facilities are perfect for doggie care and Craig and Megan are just the best carers. Will definitely book again..... Thank you both.

About: Hello! We are caring, passionate animal lovers with the softest spot especially for dogs. Between us we’ve had a lab/staff rescue dog called Shadow, and currently have a friendly, crazy mini golden doodle (from a pup) that literally loves anything that moves! We live in a large detached house with spacious indoor areas and a good sized secure garden, fenced and gated. We also have bucket loads of experience caring for various breeds of dogs, especially those with nervous dispositions, high energy needs and seniors. We understand how hard it is trusting your most precious bundle with anyone but yourself, and strive to provide a home from home environment where your dog feels totally loved and safe. When they stay with us they are truly part of the family and will have total freedom to roam around, while being supervised all day (and night if staying) with one or other of us home at all times. We know every dog is different and will work with you to provide the care and routine that you feel suits your dog best. Patience is our speciality and you can rest assured a stress free stay, enriched with plenty of fun walks and playtime, quiet resting spaces when needed and oodles of cuddles. Whether you’re heading away for a weekend, holiday or just need a helping hand during a busy week, we’re here to give your dog all the care, attention, and love they deserve, and you’ll have total peace of mind. As Kyla works from home, your dog will enjoy constant companionship and supervision throughout the day no long periods left alone. This means plenty of attention, reassurance, and care, especially for dogs who thrive on human company or may feel anxious when left. Our day is naturally structured around regular breaks, which we use for walks, toilet breaks, playtime, and enrichment. Whether your dog loves energetic walks or prefers a slower pace and lots of cuddles, we adapt to suit their needs. Throughout the day, your pet can relax in a calm home environment, nap comfortably, or stay close to Kyla while she works many dogs love having that steady presence nearby. We keep to your dog’s usual routine as much as possible, including feeding times, walk schedules, and any specific habits, so they feel settled and at home. In short: lots of company, regular exercise, and a calm, loving environment all day long We promise your dog: A safe pet friendly environment. Lots of love and cuddles. Reliable communication and updates. Care tailored to your dog's needs. Plenty of tail wags.

Rosie and Wilbur gave Dolly the best holiday and would definitely recommend their extra special care and attention to any dog owner! We received daily updates and photos of Dolly out in walks, playing with Wilbur and enjoying the sun in the garden. Dolly was quite sad to leave I think and moped around the house for the first few hours! Thank you Rosie for taking such great care of Dolly!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
