He will definitely return when we need to go away again.”

“Claire did an amazing job looking after our precious Charly. She provided daily updates, sharing photos and keeping us informed about how Charly was doing, how well she had settled into Claire’s home with her family and dog, going on walks, asking for treats, and more. I felt very confident and happy leaving Charly with Claire, and I will definitely choose her again! Thank you Claire.”

About: I am the proud owner of a one-year-old Golden Retriever who is truly part of the family. Having spent many years caring for and walking dogs of all breeds and sizes, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. As a member of the RAF based at Brize Norton, I quickly discovered how difficult it can be to find reliable and caring dog care. This inspired me to provide the kind of service I would want for my own dog—safe, loving, and tailored to each dog’s individual needs. During your dog’s stay, either myself or my partner will be at home throughout the day, ensuring your pet is never left alone and receives plenty of attention, companionship, and care. We have a secure, gated garden and a child-free home, providing a calm and safe environment for your dog. We are happy to accommodate your dog’s usual routines and preferences, whether that means relaxing on the sofa, sleeping on the bed, or having access to a crate if they find comfort and security in one. Our goal is to make your dog’s stay feel like a home away from home, giving you complete peace of mind while you’re away. I work shift pattern so my available days will be my days off or when my partner is home so your dog won’t ever be left alone! I have a fenced garden and a 1 year old golden retriever who loves all dogs and will keep your fur baby company during their stay!
“Dale and his family were very welcoming of Oatie. She had great fun and was very well looked after. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for day care / boarding. Oatie and Frank got on really well as were very sweet together. We were kept up to date with photos and what they had got up to. We will book again. Thank you!”

“Ted was really happy with Angela. She is so kind and gentle with him. I think he missed her a lot when we got home , had to persuade him to come with me! !! Great care and excellent communication Ted had plenty of walks and cuddles in a lovely house and garden Thank you Angela”

“Michandra and her family took wonderful care of Elf. He looked so happy and calm and he was having so much fun in all the lovely updates I received. Feel so lucky to have found a sitter like Michandra. Super flexible and understanding about flight changes and pick up/drop off times. She did a great job of making sure he took all his medication as needed.”

About: We’ve had dogs in my family since I was 4, and now living away from my parents i desperately miss them! We’ve had mostly very active spaniels, as well as more spaniels and terriers in my wider family. I’m very dog-orientated, understand the responsibility of looking after a dog, as well as taking into account the personality and sensitivities and needs of each dog individually. I work full time but work from home twice a week, and can be flexible most weekends with enough notice. I’m very keen to help out with dog sitting, or walking as needed. I have a fenced garden which backs onto a very quiet residents’ car park. We have plenty of green spaces and fields nearby. Our small estate is extremely quiet as well.
“Sara and her family took amazing care of Dolly! It was the first time Dolly stayed with Sara, so like many owners you are always a little nervous about leaving your dog with someone new… but Sara made sure we had regular updates and asked all the right questions so I knew Dolly was in good hands! No doubt Dolly will be going back for more stays in the future! Thanks again!!!”

“My 4 month old Whippet puppy Lottie just stayed with Quentin for two nights and it was absolutely brilliant. Lottie got lots of walks and playtime outside in Christchurch meadow and special attention when she needed it. Quentin kept me fully updated with photos and all of the latest news, and was very flexible and accommodating with my travel arrangements. He dealt with her diet, exercise and sleep requirements with such calm and patience. I would love Lottie to go back to stay next time, I think she has made friends for life!”

“Charlie had a great time at his stay with Adam which was originally for one night but because of flight delays it was extended a night. Adam responded quickly, was flexible and accommodating and made the stressful situation a lot better knowing Charlie was being well looked after! Definitely recommend!”

“Leo really had the best time with Amanda and Jeremy and Bailey the sweetest spaniel. They took the time to make sure Leo would be comfortable with them and Bailey and It really felt like nothing was too much trouble. We got lots of photos during his stay. Now when my husband walks past their house Leo literally tries to drag him in. We would 1000% recommend them.”

“Brody clearly had a great time with Lisa. We got some lovely updates to see how he was getting on. He’s very much looking forward to returning and we’re glad we have found someone we feel very happy leaving him with 🥰”

“The most attentive and loving care of my two dogs as always. Tracy truly loves the dogs she looks after and they never want to come home with me 😂. Thanks Tracy xx”

Joanna looked after Bailey brilliantly. He really loved playing with Poppy. Joanna provided us with daily updates and photos which left us with full reassurance Bailey was being really well cared for particularly during a very hot period of weather. I would highly recommended Joanna.

Gina and Brad were absolutely fantastic with Rocky, they loved him like he was their own dog. He was treated and had lots of cuddles and fantastic walks. We absolutely loved having daily updates and lots of photos to see what he was up to with them - he always looked so happy. Will 100% book again next time we need someone to look after him. Thank you so much for loving him like we do.

Holly was lovely & took really good care of Sully. She was really attentive making sure all his needs were met & sending us updates on how he was doing. Sully had a great time, new places to sniff & a comfy sofa where he sprawled out after his long walks. We’d definitely use Holly again. Thank you!

Kirsti was absolutely fantastic and our little Bertie had a great time with her and her family. It was so important to us to find someone who was lovely that we could trust while we were celebrating our wedding day, as he is our baby. Kirsti was so lovely and sent us photo updates through out the day which we really appreciated and put us at ease. We would definitely take Bertie to stay with Kirsti again and recommend her highly!

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
