About: Hi, I'm Paula and I live in Witney with my husband and my lovely fur baby, Bella. I work from home so I am lucky to enjoy Bella's company most of the day (and cuddling her when she lets me!) I have had a cat since childhood and throughout most of my adult life (I am in my 50's now) and my current and three previous cats were all rescues. I work in administration and am very organised, dedicated and reliable. I can look after you cat(s) before work, during the day, after work and weekends. I wear a 'uniform ' so i do not smell of my cat when I look after yours. I can also offer dog walking service in the evenings and weekends I work from home so can do short cat sitting visits in the morning before work, longer during the day and an hour or so in the evening (or as required) and all weekend. I can offer dog walking services in the evenings and weekends too. I will always fuss your cat first, then do feeding followed by refreshing water bowls and litter trays. I will play with your cat and cuddle them as much or as little as they want.

Lily responded promptly and communicated well, before and during her stay. She is confident with dogs, and clearly loves them. I had no concerns at all, leaving her with my slightly anxious (and sometimes bad-mannered ! ) rescue dog, and he was very relaxed and happy with her. Thank you, Lily

About: I've been around animals for as long as I can remember and have grown up caring for all sorts of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, and even tortoises. Looking after animals has always been a natural part of my life, and from a young age I learned how important it is to give pets the love, attention, and care they deserve. I have the most experience with dogs and cats, particularly spaniels, and I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. Whether it's going for long walks, playtime, feeding, or simply providing company and cuddles, I always make sure pets feel happy, comfortable, and well looked after. I know how much pets mean to their owners, so I'll treat your pets as if they were my own. My goal is to make sure they feel safe, loved, and relaxed while you're away, giving you peace of mind that they're in caring and reliable hands. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend 😊 I work in an office in Witney three days a week and from home the other two, which gives me plenty of flexibility to fit around your pet's routine. Whether they need an early morning walk, a lunchtime visit, an afternoon stroll, or an evening walk, I'm happy to work around what suits them best. I know how important it is to keep pets in their usual routine, so I'll always do my best to accommodate their needs and make sure they get plenty of attention and care. I also offer house sitting, so your pet can stay happy and comfortable in their own home while you're away. I'm happy to travel for house-sitting bookings as long as they're within around a 30-minute commute of Witney. I know how important it is for pets to feel comfortable and secure when their owners are away, so I always do my best to keep their routine as normal as possible. Every pet is different, so I'll take the time to get to know their personality, likes and dislikes, and make sure they're getting the care and attention they're used to. Whether that's walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I'll make sure your pet feels happy and loved while you're away. Having grown up around animals all my life, I genuinely enjoy spending time with them and building a bond with each pet I look after. I'll also treat your home with the utmost respect and keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy, and being well cared for.

About: I have had pets around me my whole life and am very comfortable with walking, feeding and giving them cuddles. I have done pet sitting consistently since I was 14 and look after my own dog myself when my parents are abroad. I love being around all kinds of pets and am keen to gain experience where needed. I am a student at university and so during term time I would like to take care of pets in the late afternoon and evenings as well as any time on the weekends. However, during holidays I am keen to work at whatever time works best for pet owners and I am highly flexible. At my university house and my summer home I have a fully fenced garden that is dog proofed. In my summer home I have one small Yorkshire Terrier who gets along with other dogs (she’s the boss of the house). Both houses offer a comfortable environment with blankets to snuggle on and food and water.

About: As part of my course, I have completed placement at a veterinary practice. During my placement, I learnt a lot about how to handle and approach the pets, acknowledging their behaviour. As part of my role, I needed to monitor and look after a range of different pets and breeds after surgery, which included taking the dogs outside on walks outside, providing them with food and water and interacting with them such as cuddling. Aside from this, I was able to accompany the Vets whilst in consults along with the owners where I was assisting by holding/distracting the pet. I feel that this placement has given me the opportunity to grow my confidence handling different animals, as well as learning about their specific needs. For example, handling the older dogs more gently due to possible joint pain. Further, as most younger dogs are more energetic, I acknowledged this when interacting with them. Furthermore, I learnt how to recognise different body languages of cats and dogs (as some pets may be nervous or stressed at the vet), whilst understanding what they may need e.g. space. Aside from a veterinary setting, I have also volunteered at a farm where I was working with a range of different animals, ranging from guinea pigs and rabbits, to chickens and ducks. In this role, I needed to clean out their enclosures, and provide them with food and water. I always made sure that their welfare came first, especially as we had many families visiting the farm and there were times where the animals became stressed and overwhelmed. In general, I love looking after animals, especially in different settings and I always acknowledge and appreciate the importance of their welfare and needs. As I am back from University for the summer and do not currently have a job, I am available most weekdays to look after your dogs, however I would appreciate a few days notice :) As I am hoping to dog sit, I will ensure that your dog is taken on walks/outside often or as to their needs, ensuring that they are safe whilst outside your home. Also, I will ensure to play with your pet and give them lots of cuddles, to ensure that they are getting enrichment and to hopefully create a bond with your pet as well. Further, I will ensure to follow any requirements or instructions that you may have, to ensure that they have the best care.

About: We’ve had dogs in my family since I was 4, and now living away from my parents i desperately miss them! We’ve had mostly very active spaniels, as well as more spaniels and terriers in my wider family. I’m very dog-orientated, understand the responsibility of looking after a dog, as well as taking into account the personality and sensitivities and needs of each dog individually. I work full time but work from home twice a week, and can be flexible most weekends with enough notice. I’m very keen to help out with dog sitting, or walking as needed. I have a fenced garden which backs onto a very quiet residents’ car park. We have plenty of green spaces and fields nearby. Our small estate is extremely quiet as well.

About: Hi, I’m Kate! ❤️🐾 I’m a huge dog lover based in Witney and I genuinely love having dogs around me. I know leaving your dog with someone new can feel a little stressful, so I want them to feel as comfortable and at home with me as possible. I’m happy to follow their usual routine, including feeding, walks, sleeping arrangements and medication if needed. Whether your dog loves long walks and playtime or would rather spend the day snoozing on the sofa and having cuddles, I’ll make sure their stay suits them. I also love sending photos and little updates throughout their stay, so you can see what they’re up to and know they’re happy and settled. My schedule is flexible and I have plenty of time to spend with the dogs in my care. I make sure they get regular walks, playtime, toilet breaks and lots of attention throughout the day. I always try to stick to your dog’s usual routine as much as possible, so they can feel comfortable and settled while staying with me. Your dog will be treated like part of the family while staying with me. I keep things calm and relaxed. I can give them plenty of attention and make sure they feel comfortable and settled. I’m happy to stick to their usual feeding, walking and sleeping routine, give medication if needed, and follow any instructions you leave with me. Dogs are welcome on the sofa and bed if that’s what they’re used to at home. Although I live in a ground floor flat, I have my own secure, enclosed patio with direct access to a large grassy area, so dogs can easily get outside for regular toilet breaks and some fresh air.

About: I have experience with looking after cats, my own and others and have received five star positive feedback from pet parents. I look after the pet/s as per instructions and am always respectful of the home. I am very clean and tidy, always leaving the home as I find it together with a happy pet/s for the pet parent to come home to. I also have a lot of experiencing looking after (feeding, walking, playing) with dogs as my friend does dog boarding and I am often on hand to help out and enjoy lovely walks with four legged friends. I'm Beth and I have a home and work in the beautiful city of Oxford in a wonderful museum. I enjoy travelling and discovering new places and meeting new people. I'm honest, trustworthy, reliable and respectful. With a responsible job organising others, I fully understand the need for order and routine! I like to see you new places, meet new places and not shy in asking questions/for direction when needed. My days in the office/work from home are flexible and I don't work weekends/evenings. I am looking to fill my spare time with looking after cats (and possibly dogs) in other homes as I am not allowed pets in the property where I live. Caring for cats/dogs has been good for my well-being and I wish to extend my options hence my Rover application. I am trustworthy and respectful and will care for a pet/s in someone's home according to instructions from the pet owner and my own experience, knowledge and common sense will ensure pet/s are well looked after and I can work through any 'issue' should it arise.

Love love love Hannah looking after Reye. Reyes little bottom wiggled so much when she saw Han even though it had been a few weeks and Reya was so young when she first met hers We were late back from watching my son at the Theatre and Han was really lovely and accommodating, despite needing to get up ridiculously early for her day job. Thanks again!

Cinthya has been wonderful! We have three dogs, one of which is particularly challenging, but Cinthya has real 'dog sense' and gave ours the space and time needed to let her defences down. You can tell she understands dogs and connects with them, with the end result that we and the dogs were very very happy! Would highly recommend!

FAQs for House Sitting - West Oxfordshire

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in West Oxfordshire on Rover is £41.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,166 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across West Oxfordshire. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred West Oxfordshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Oxfordshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
