Calm and compassionate pet care
Hello! My name is Gemma and I'm currently taking some time out to rest, reset and figure out what's next, having worked as a junior doctor for the past few years. Sadly work made it tricky to own my own pet, but I grew up with dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, guinea-pigs and fish. I've also volunteered as a dog walker and cat sitter for various animal charities, including the Cinnamon Trust, who I still dog walk for. I have experience of caring for a range of different breeds; including hounds, terriers and working gun dogs (having previously worked for the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust in a former life). I've also sat for a variety of cats, chickens and even horses! For the last few months, I've been dog sitting through Trusted Housesitters and have enjoyed it so much, I thought I'd give Rover a go. I'm a quiet gentle soul and I greatly enjoy getting to know the individual needs and quirks of each pet I look after. I know it can be stressful for all parties involved when, for whatever reason, your furry friend has to be left behind, so if you're looking for someone with a quietly re-assuring presence who will really take the time to get to know your pets and keep you updated and informed, please do get in touch!

I do not offer dog boarding; however, I am more than happy to sit for your pet in their own home. I have provided overnight and week long sits for a range of different breeds and always enjoy getting to know the dogs and their individual needs.

I cannot recommend Gemma highly enough. We felt that both our elderly dog and the house were in sensible, reliable hands. She gave us regular updates and left the house absolutely spotless - a wonderful service and a credit to Rover.
This was the first time we used Gemma and I can honestly say the dogs were so well looked after and cared for… they are two small dogs but with their own personalities and Gemma made sure they had a fantastic time and gave us updates along the way… amazing lady who you can see has a natural way with animals… we can’t wait to have you again and neither can our two pups 🐶 🐶
Gemma provided an excellent and punctual service visiting and walking our dog. He bonded with her immediately and was very content when we returned. Highly recommend!
