“Gemma is as fantastic sitting for my two puppies they were really happy and well cared for and Gemma left the house immaculate! Would definitely recommend and use again. X”

“Magdalena was absolutely lovely with Guava. Guava is very nervous when meeting new people, but Magdalena was so patient, kind, and understanding, and really took the time to help her feel comfortable. She also sent me lovely updates throughout, including photos, videos, and a sweet little slideshow, which I really appreciated. It was so nice to see how much Guava warmed up to her. I’d definitely recommend her.”

About: Hi, I’m Karolina! If you’re looking for someone who will care for your pet as if they were my own, I’d love to help. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve owned both a Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix and a Miniature Pinscher mix, so I understand that every dog is unique, whether they’re a gentle giant or a little bundle of personality. I also worked in an animal shelter, where I cared for animals of all breeds, sizes and temperaments. My role included walking, feeding, transporting animals, caring for dogs recovering from surgery, helping new arrivals settle in and providing day-to-day care. Some dogs were full of confidence, while others simply needed patience, kindness and someone they could trust. That experience taught me how to adapt to each animal’s individual needs and always put their wellbeing first. Alongside this, I’ve looked after dogs through BorrowMyDoggy and spent three years living with and helping care for a Cocker Spaniel and a Westie. Caring for animals has never felt like a job to me—it’s something I genuinely enjoy. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your pet with someone else. That’s why I’ll take the time to learn their routine, respect their personality and make sure they feel safe, happy and loved while you’re away. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you’ll always know how they’re getting on. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or special requests. I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! 🐾 I currently work in hospitality, so my schedule varies and often gives me extra flexibility throughout the week. In my free time, I love being outdoors and spending time with animals, so pet care fits naturally into my routine. Whether it’s a walk, a drop-in visit or overnight care, I’ll make sure your pet receives plenty of love, attention and care. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else because I’ve been on both sides. I’ll care for your pet as if they were my own, following their usual routine, respecting your instructions and making sure they feel safe, loved and comfortable. You’ll receive regular updates, photos and messages, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is happy and well looked after.
“Annie looked after our house, black lab Bandit and kitty Freddie for 3 nights. Annie was great with Bandit and he was super relaxed and happy with her. We hadn't left Bandit before but after an initial meet and greet I didn't have any worries about leaving Bandit with Annie; she's obviously a natural and you can tell she loves animals. We wouldn't hesitate to book Annie again if we go away and I'm sure Bandit and Freddie would love to see her again. Thanks Annie 😊”

About: Hi! I’m a passionate and reliable pet sitter who truly loves caring for animals of all shapes and sizes. Whether it’s playful pups or independent cats, I make sure every pet feels safe, happy, and well looked after while you’re away. I have experience with dogs and cats of different breeds, ages, and temperaments—from energetic puppies who need lots of exercise to senior pets who require a gentler touch. I understand that every animal is unique, so I always take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and personalities. Your pet’s comfort and wellbeing are my top priorities. I provide plenty of attention, playtime, walks (for dogs), and cuddles—along with regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease knowing they’re in good hands. I’m also happy to follow any specific instructions, including feeding schedules, medication, or special care needs. Clean, respectful, and dependable, I treat every home and pet as if they were my own. I’d love to meet you and your furry friend—feel free to reach out with any questions!
“Booked in last minute with Rebecca. Amazing communicator with lots of pupdates (photos and texts). Really appreciate your time and effort guys! Would 100% recommend and will book again! Aaron.”

“Lula stayed with my two boys for 4 days at my flat . Lovely personality and provided best care for my babies. Always sent me messages and pictures. Also before she left my place cleaned and changed bed sheets. Didn't needed but thank you for that. Will definitely ask her to help me in the future. Many thanks Lula”

“Alex did a great job looking after our dog in our home whilst we were on holiday and gave us real peace of mind that she was being well looked after whilst we were away. Alex is kind, caring and clearly has a genuine love for animals. We received updates and photos throughout which was reassuring and allowed us to relax knowing our dog was happy, comfortable, and being well cared for. We returned home to a happy, relaxed dog and a house that had been looked after with great care. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alex to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring house sitter. Thank you Alex!”

“Charlotte provided exceptional care for Marcus, keeping me informed every step of the way with regular updates on his wellbeing. It was such a relief knowing he was in safe, attentive hands. She was wonderfully flexible around my schedule and consistently punctual - exactly what you want when you're trusting someone with your pet. When I returned home, everything was spotless: a clean litter tray and the right amount of food in his bowl. It's clear she genuinely takes pride in the care she provides. I'd absolutely recommend Charlotte and will definitely be booking again! :)”

“My puppies enjoyed their time with David. They were fed walked playing around and never felt my absence. I can highly recommend David and definitely will be booking frequently.Blue had also a new harness from David as a present which she proudly wears every time she goes out.”

“My dog Absolutely LOVES Harry! Harry is very reliable and we trust him with our dog and to stay within our home. We will continue to use Harry for dog walks and dog stays. Highly recommend! Thank you for all your help”

“I was immediately impressed with Izabela. Her biography showed that she was experienced with big dogs and on meeting my two greyhounds she was calm and well able to manage their excitement. They took to her straightaway and she was able to manage their anxiety at my leaving them with her with regular interaction and activities throughout the day. I consider Izabela will be an ongoing source of help for me and I am looking forward to planning other visits with her.”

About: I started with pet sitting for friends when on holidays and then decided to formally train as a dog sitter with Friends for Pets where I received training about dog’s behaviour, dog’s law and first aid. I worked for Friends for Pets as a dog sitter and dog day care. I have 8 years experience with pet sitting and now I’m branching out on my own, looking for sitting around the UK. I’m currently working part-time and I’m very flexible. I can work with your schedule and holidays. I love playing with dogs and taking them for walks, especially if we play a good game of fetch. I am very attentive and fully trained to cater to your dog’s needs and preferences. I create a safe and trustworthy relationship with dogs and cats the same way.

About: I have regularly been caring for family’s pets and been on call as a reliable and keen helper for many years. I have cared for non-family pets and homes and treat them like my own. My partner Jack and I may work together on some of the services and he has many more years experience in dog walking and dog boarding with his mother’s previous dog boarding business. He has a cocker spaniel himself, called Bryn, so this would be optional to join the pets for company or keep them separate. I am a reception class teacher with the summer off so August and early September I am available for very flexible work. I plan from October to be living in a van with a more flexible lifestyle and some teaching supply work to keep my flexibility with my pet sitting and walking. As we move into the van we will be able to offer more flexibility regarding locations and lengths of stay, as well as drop ins or pet sitting. I treat the home and the pets as my own with all the care I can offer. I enjoy leaving the home in a good condition for owners to return to and to care for their pets as they would wish for themselves.

Isabella house sat for us this weekend to look after our two dogs - she was fantastic. With a rebooting visit to talk through practicalities. She is polite, friendly, responsive and brilliant with the dogs. Thank you Isabella and see you in August when you sit for us again.

Alex is kind, caring and clearly has a genuine love for animals. We received updates and photos throughout which was reassuring and allowed us to relax knowing our dog was happy, comfortable, and being well cared for. Thank you Alex!

Magdalena looked after Guava for six nights in July and I honestly can’t recommend her enough. She messaged me every day with updates and photos, took Guava out for her walks, and kept me completely at ease the whole time I was away. Guava is a nervous and reactive little bean and doesn’t warm up to people easily, but she and Magdalena have built up a bond over a few visits now. You can tell Guava absolutely adores her, she’s so relaxed and happy around her, and it really shows how much care and patience Magdalena puts in. I had zero issues the entire time and got to properly enjoy my holiday knowing Guava was in such good hands. Can’t thank her enough, would trust her with Guava every time!🫶

Sheryl was absolutely amazing looking after a timid, 14 year old Jack Russell. She took her for early morning walks in the woods to avoid the heatwave and look after my house as if it were her own. First time using Rover to find a Dogsitter and hit the jackpot. Thanks so much Sheryl .

Carly helped us out very last minute after we had an issue with our previously booked sitter, and we wish we'd booked with her in the first place! Our Dillon took to her immediately and he was so well cared for whilst we were at work. Couldn't recommend more highly!!

Ella helped us out on about an hours notice after an issue with another sitter left us stuck just before work! She was the most relaxed presence and made everything so much easier. Dillon took to her straight away and communication was great. Couldn't recommend more highly!

Chris was fantastic; from clear and consistent communication, a great bond with our dog and a conscientious caretaker of our home whilst dog sitting, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone in need of dogsitting services. Thanks again Chris for being awesome!

Rebecca was absolutely fantastic from start to finish.. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Dillon. She kept me consistently updated with messages, photos and videos, which genuinely made such a difference while I was away (he’s basically my child, so this meant a lot!). It was so reassuring to see how relaxed and content he was with her. Especially as he can sometimes take a little while to warm up to new people. Rebecca was incredibly attentive, kind and thoughtful. She picked up on little things, kept me informed, and clearly gave Dillon lots of love and attention; he looked so happy and settled. She also took great care of my home, left everything spotless, and was just a pleasure to communicate with throughout. I would 100% rebook with Rebecca in a heartbeat and would highly recommend her to anyone. Dillon already can’t wait for his next stay with her 🥰

Hannah is an excellent sitter! She is calm and very patient with our anxious dachshund, Sherlock. Her communication was also great . I appreciate that she reached out to ask for tips when Sherlock was feeling nervous during their walk. She handled him with flexibility and was able to help him relax. Thank you so much, Hannah!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Cheltenham walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cheltenham choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
