Shannon was fantastic looking after our very grumpy cat while we were away! She popped in every morning to feed him and sort the litter tray, and it was such a relief knowing he was being so well looked after. We really appreciated the updates, and, he was clearly very well cared for. Would definitely recommend Shannon to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter.

About: Hello, I’m Emma. I have over 15 years experience in pet care, including house sitting, dog walking and puppy training. I am also a dog wedding chaperone, helping happy couples have their beloved pets part of their wedding day. As well as offering services on Rover, I also have my own pet care business called Harris Hounds of Cheltenham. Full Insurence including public liability, DBS check and Dog First Aid Trained. Thanks for stopping bye, I look forward to hearing from you. ☺️🐾🐕 My services are subject to my availability as I do work but hoping to soon be in a position that I can do this full time. However I am free most evenings and weekends and also available to house sit whilst you are away. I am able to look after small animals at my place (weekends) and have a safe and secure garden. Any animals larger than your average small dog, it would be more convenient for me to look after them at your home. I am experienced with: - puppies - nervous dogs - elderly dogs - reactive dogs

About: We took some time out to complete some home renovations, but we are ready to welcome your furry friends back into our home ❤️ I have owned and looked after dogs since I was 13. Since getting our first puppy I truly can’t imagine my life without them. I love to provide a home away from home for your furry friends 🥰 I rescued a beautiful Shepherd mix from Turkey in 2019 so am experienced in rescue dogs or dogs with particular needs. We love to provide a home away from home for your dogs and will send regular updates and pictures. We live close to some beautiful walks so your furry friends won’t be without adventure. I am lucky enough to work from home full time so have a very flexible schedule that allows me to care for your dogs and be there throughout the day I have a good sized fenced garden to ensure your dogs safety. Our house is quite large so we’re confident we have the space for large and small dogs to ensure a comfortable stay. My partner and I are very versatile so can care for all dogs and are confident we can make them as comfortable as possible.

About: Hi! We‘re Alex and Stef, a young couple originally from Austria and we have been living in Cheltenham for 4 years now. We have both been around pets our whole life and after we have moved to England together, we decided to spend our free time looking after pets. This has mainly consisted of housesitting on another platform, but also walking dogs locally in Cheltenham. We have completed over 45 housesits, looking after 55+ different dogs, and many lovely cats. We have looked after large dogs, young dogs and puppies, but also older dogs. Same with cats! On some occasions we were lucky to gather experience looking after horses, turtles, rabbits, chickens and fish. We also have experience with drop-in visits. In our pictures, you can see some of the lovely pets we‘ve fallen in love with within our time pet sitting. Many of these we regularly go back to and look after, which makes us extremely happy :) Petsitting has made us fall in love with dogs & cats so so much, it’s genuinely what we love doing most and we certainly want to continue this passion of looking after animals for probably all our lives! It brings us so much joy whenever we meet a new furry friend or we go back to see them again! We cannot wait to meet you and your pets and have the absolute best time with them giving them lots of love! :) We can provide many more references/reviews from the other platform we are on so please just send us a message. We can‘t wait to meet you! We have graduated from university last year and after a couple months of travelling we are both starting to work in our respective industries. Alex has started to work in an office in Cheltenham with three home-working days and Stef currently working for a charity Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We want to spend practically all of our free time with pets, and can be flexible in fitting our schedules around your needs. What‘s most important to us about pet care is that we genuinely love each pet we get to care for as if it was our own, we try to get to know them and bond with them, and then adapt to whatever the specific pet needs. Building trust is super important to us, so that definitely always comes first. Note about Dog Day Care - at the moment we sadly cannot have pets in our home for a full day, as we live in a rental flat without a garden, but we thought we would still offer the service as we really like to go out on day trips with dogs, be out and about and explore. This would consist of a long walk, then maybe settling down in a dog friendly cafe for us to do our work, and then going on another walk. But really, it depends on what your dog generally likes to do - we are very happy to adapt to each dog specifically. Of course, we know that this is not for every dog; however we found that it works really well for some - so we wanted to offer it on here too. Just message us if you think we would be a good fit for spending the day with your dog and we can discuss further on how the day care should look like! :)

About: I first began taking care of animals when the neighbors would ask my sister and I to watch their cats and small animals while away. Then I finally convinced my parents to get a family dog and that’s where most of my experience is! During covid years, my friend and I have been doing house/pet sitting for family friends for the past year and I enjoy it so much. Unfortunately we lost our precious family dog Jack a couple years ago and having moved from the US to the UK, I am seriously missing animal interaction ! I am pursuing a masters degree in social work from UoG and am currently on a full-time placement until the end of July. During placement I work Monday-Friday, 9-4:30 but am available in evenings and weekends. Once placement ends I will have much more free time and flexibility. While I am currently living in an apartment and will not be able to bring your pet home with me, I enjoy going for long walks in some beautiful neighborhoods or parks of which Cheltenham has plenty to offer! I am also happy to check in on your fur baby for potty breaks, feeding time, or just to share some company for a while or even extend it to overnight house sitting as well if that makes them feel more secure!

About: I am fully insured and DBS checked. I have been house and pet sitting pretty much full time since January 2019 and, to date, have completed 110 sits in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand all receiving 5 star reviews. Those were through other platforms when I was travelling and rented out my home. I have been back in my home since July 2025 and decided to join Rover on recommendation. I have mainly looked after a variety of dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds, cats and chickens but also alpacas, rare sheep, pygmy goats and fish. I like the challenge of teaching a dog new tricks (!) and taught a Dachshund to ring a bell, a Tibetan Terrier to wait before running after a ball and a Cockapoo to sit and high five, things they didn’t do before. I’m open to more challenges! I keep myself fit and particularly enjoy walking which is enhanced by the company of dogs. I like nothing more than to take my canine charges exploring with me, with their owners’ permission, and have introduced many to new walks and sniffs. I will keep your pets to their normal routines, give them as much love and cuddles as they can take and keep your home as clean and tidy as you leave it. I am retired so can give your pets plenty of attention in their home with long or short walks for dogs outside and happy to continue with any training they might be doing. Cats will get lots of attention also if they wish I will ensure that I keep to the routines of feeding, walking and sleeping that your dogs are used to. I will be alert to any changes in their demeanour and take appropriate action should they become ill. Having been a house owner for over 40 years I will also ensure I take action should any home emergency occur

About: My partner and I have a 6 year old Sprocker called Tilly. She’s full of energy and loves other dogs! We know that Tilly would love having a friend to play with. She is very well socialised. I also grew up with a family dog 🐶 We allow dogs on the sofa and beds and have a garden - dogs can be let out as often as required. We are a very active family and love walking - we mainly walk Tilly off lead in enclosed fields, but can be flexible to suit another dog’s needs. I took Tilly to puppy training classes regularly so have experience in training young dogs. I am currently working from home so very flexible for daycare and dog walking. Tilly gets two walks per day (and sometimes a third short one in the evening), so we are able to walk as much or as little as required! :) We have a safe, fenced garden for dogs to play in. Our home is very dog friendly and we allow dogs on all furniture including beds if this is what your dog is used to. We do have a one year old baby, however he is not in the house between 8-5:30. We can therefore only accept dogs who are okay around children. I currently work from home for the majority of the week so am able to offer dog walking and day care on those days. On the days I work from home I take our dog on multiple walks. We have a secured fenced garden for dogs to play in and we live on a quiet road. I can tailor to your specific dog – for example, if they are crate trained or not allowed upstairs / on furniture.

About: I’ve always had a family dog since I was born - two weinmaranas. This encouraged me to walk both neighbours and family members dogs from a young age of 10. Therefore, animals have always been a passion of mine leading to me committing to a zoology degree at university. It has taught me how important animals are for our ecosystems as well as for our own health. Apart from university, I have no other commitments meaning I am only available on weekdays: Monday/Tuesday- 12:40-4:30, Thursday/Friday- 9:15-12:30. I am fully available over the weekend. I will follow all the owners instructions of the routines and/or equipment they would like me to use appropriately to ensure the best care for their pet.

I've used Rover a couple of times before and Elise is by far the best sitter I've had. FAQs for Drop-In Visits - Cheltenham

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Cat Sitting in Cheltenham on Rover is £13.8 per Visit (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Many sitters respond to requests in under an hour. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
