“Shannon did a great job taking care of our cat for a week while we were away. All was clean/tidy and cat seemed very happy. She is very responsive and great at sending daily photos. Thank you!”

“I had complete confidence in Gemma who dropped in to feed my cats while I was away. She sent photos each day which was reassuring as they are outdoor cats. I can recommend Gemma and would use her again”

“Heather has been brilliant from the beginning, she came round a few times before the sitting date to learn the meds too. Heather is easy to communicate with and we came home to some very happy cats, we’re very grateful to her!”
“Thank you for taking care of our fur babies, Bailey, Dexter and Daisy. Amazing level of care taken to meet all their needs. Great communication with detailed updates and photos. Will definitely rebook for future dates.”

“Lily looked after Lily (confusingly) really well, sending me Rover cards each day to show how my cat was doing. Lily enjoyed knees and play while I was away and clearly loved Lily’s company. Lily (the sitter!) set the alarm properly for my home and looked after the house well - thank you! 🙂”

About: We took some time out to complete some home renovations, but we are ready to welcome your furry friends back into our home ❤️ I have owned and looked after dogs since I was 13. Since getting our first puppy I truly can’t imagine my life without them. I love to provide a home away from home for your furry friends 🥰 I rescued a beautiful Shepherd mix from Turkey in 2019 so am experienced in rescue dogs or dogs with particular needs. We love to provide a home away from home for your dogs and will send regular updates and pictures. We live close to some beautiful walks so your furry friends won’t be without adventure. I am lucky enough to work from home full time so have a very flexible schedule that allows me to care for your dogs and be there throughout the day I have a good sized fenced garden to ensure your dogs safety. Our house is quite large so we’re confident we have the space for large and small dogs to ensure a comfortable stay. My partner and I are very versatile so can care for all dogs and are confident we can make them as comfortable as possible.
“Lisa looked after our cat for a week while we were away and she was a great sitter, she spent plenty of time with the cat and sent photos and updates every day and is great with her. Will definitely ask Lisa again next time we go away.”

“Thanks Liam/Kate The pics look great and would be just what he needs middle of the day. Di said when she got home Barney was relaxed and chilled which is perfect Will be in touch soon for our next visit Neil”

About: I first began taking care of animals when the neighbors would ask my sister and I to watch their cats and small animals while away. Then I finally convinced my parents to get a family dog and that’s where most of my experience is! During covid years, my friend and I have been doing house/pet sitting for family friends for the past year and I enjoy it so much. Unfortunately we lost our precious family dog Jack a couple years ago and having moved from the US to the UK, I am seriously missing animal interaction ! I am pursuing a masters degree in social work from UoG and am currently on a full-time placement until the end of July. During placement I work Monday-Friday, 9-4:30 but am available in evenings and weekends. Once placement ends I will have much more free time and flexibility. While I am currently living in an apartment and will not be able to bring your pet home with me, I enjoy going for long walks in some beautiful neighborhoods or parks of which Cheltenham has plenty to offer! I am also happy to check in on your fur baby for potty breaks, feeding time, or just to share some company for a while or even extend it to overnight house sitting as well if that makes them feel more secure!
“Freya was amazing with Beni! She is super organized, made sure to keep records of everything, and took him for a looong walk - exactly what he needed. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him, highly recommend!”

About: I’ve always had a family dog since I was born - two weinmaranas. This encouraged me to walk both neighbours and family members dogs from a young age of 10. Therefore, animals have always been a passion of mine leading to me committing to a zoology degree at university. It has taught me how important animals are for our ecosystems as well as for our own health. Apart from university, I have no other commitments meaning I am only available on weekdays: Monday/Tuesday- 12:40-4:30, Thursday/Friday- 9:15-12:30. I am fully available over the weekend. I will follow all the owners instructions of the routines and/or equipment they would like me to use appropriately to ensure the best care for their pet.
“It's my first time using a pro dog sitter, and I was nervous as I have an elderly Pugzu and a nervous Frenchie puppy so kennels aren't an option. Needn't have worried, my boys thoroughly enjoyed having Stefani and Alex look after them, even my nervous/reactive puppy was as happy as anything! I received plenty of brilliant photos of my boys smiling away and updates throughout the visits! Was so nice to enjoy our day out without worrying, and we came home to two very happy boys who wanted to tell us all about it! Will absolutely use again, 10/10! 😊”

“I've used Rover a couple of times before and Elise is by far the best sitter I've had. The photos showed she was interacting with the cats, giving them fuss and playing with them and when there was something she wasn't sure about she got in touch about it. Highly recommended and will definitely use again.”
“Alex was brilliant when looking after our 2 cats! She was really friendly, easy to get on with, and we felt completely at ease leaving them with her. She understood their different needs and personalities right away - handling our very nervous cat perfectly, (including managing to give her medication) and giving our younger boy all the fuss and attention he needed! She kept the house tidy, cleaning up some cat sick, washing up bowls etc, and sent daily updates so we never had to worry. Could not recommend her enough!”

I am also a dog wedding chaperone, helping happy couples have their beloved pets part of their wedding day. As well as offering services on Rover, I also have my own pet care business called Harris Hounds of Cheltenham. Full Insurence including public liability, DBS check and Dog First Aid Trained. Thanks for stopping bye, I look forward to hearing from you. ☺️🐾🐕 My services are subject to my availability as I do work but hoping to soon be in a position that I can do this full time. However I am free most evenings and weekends and also available to house sit whilst you are away. I am able to look after small animals at my place (weekends) and have a safe and secure garden. Any animals larger than your average small dog, it would be more convenient for me to look after them at your home. I am experienced with: - puppies - nervous dogs - elderly dogs - reactive dogs
About: have had my own and looked after various dogs in the past which I thoroughly enjoy. I miss being able to have my own pets I work Monday to Friday 9-5:30 but I’m usually free on weekends. Can occasionally do the odd evening and can be flexible in weekends x I have a back garden, very secure with no easy access to the road. I have a big park at the end of my road where I can take them for walks and I have a lot of space in the house.
About: I volunteered at Waterloo Kennels for roughly a year in 2018 I have 2 black labs who I love more than most people. I have pet sat for family friends multiple times. I am in my A-Level year studying biology, chemistry, economics. I am now on summer holiday for school so am free to pet sit whenever you need me to! I look forward to meeting your pets! I will stay with your pet at all times playing with them and keeping an eye on them. Making sure to tidy any mess they have made as well as tidy up after them in the garden.
About: I’m always the first person a friend or family member contacts when their doggo needs some loving whilst they’re away or busy. I love pets! I have a lot of spare time to dedicate to your fur babies and help out where I can! I finish work at 2pm and have chilled weekends so can offer a lot of time to care for your fur babies! I go for walks and runs daily and love being outdoors in all weathers. My schedule is hugely flexible I have a fenced garden and hard wooded floors inside my home. I don’t have anything fragile in my home so no risk to animals or pets at all

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my whole life, growing up with four schnauzers and a cocker spaniel. I also had my own schnauzer, Teo, back in Colombia, so I understand how much pets mean to their families. I’ll care for your dog with the same love, patience, and attention I’d give my own. I run my own freelance interior design business from my home studio, which gives me the flexibility to organise my schedule around my clients’ and their pets’ needs. This means I can offer home visits throughout the day for feeding, walks, playtime, toilet breaks, and companionship. I’m available on both weekdays and weekends where possible, and I’ll always do my best to accommodate your preferred times. I’m also happy to arrange a free meet-and-greet beforehand so we can get to know each other and make sure it’s the right fit for both you and your pet. Your pet’s wellbeing is always my priority. I currently offer home visits and dog walking, as I believe many pets are happiest and most relaxed in their own familiar environment. During each visit, I’ll follow your pet’s usual routine, making sure they have fresh food and water, exercise, playtime, and plenty of attention. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages for extra peace of mind. At the moment, I don’t offer pet boarding at my own home as I don’t have a garden. However, it’s something I’d love to offer in the future when I have the right outdoor space. Until then, I’m committed to providing reliable, caring visits in your pet’s own home, where they feel safest and most comfortable.

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals for most of my life, with my grandmother who needed additional physical support for her beautiful Labrador, Bella, and my own two childhood cats growing up. I also had a yearly job looking after a Jack Russell called Harley for one or two weeks in the summer while the family went abroad. I am a very kind person, and I understand the importance of giving space to animals and reading their body language. I’m currently working part time in hospitality so I usually have plenty of time during the day and certainly in the mornings. Weekends do tend to be a bit tighter but I can do early morning care. I’m very central in Cheltenham with the ability to travel to homes, and if pets are okay with public transport, I like to do some walks up Cleeve Hill and Leckhampton Hill. I’m always happy to provide some company for the fur babies, with stop in visits to make sure they’re happy.
The median cost per Visit for cat sitting in Cheltenham is £13
Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Cheltenham
Lily was excellent in looking after Jet and Lotto. I came home to a tidy home and tidy cat station. My cats had obviously been looked after extremely well. I received regular updates and photos. I would gladly use Lily again and be recommending her to other cat parents.
Alex looked after my cat Lily really well, taking her outside almost every day on her harness since she loves being outdoors. She sent lovely photos of Lily and some short videos of Lily playing as well. She came reliably and I could relax on holiday knowing Lily was well looked after. Lily bonded well with Alex who gave her much needed cuddles. 🥰

Kate was great at organising and staying in touch. One of my cats was unwell when I was away and Kate was monitoring closely, took to the vets to be safe and gave the recommended treatments which made me feel super reassured until I could be back with my cat. Speedy responses and willing to help beyond the agreed visits due to the medical situation.
Shona did a great job at caring for my cat and 2 guinea pigs for a week. Shona took time to get to know them and asked questions about their personalities etc. My cat has health needs and Shona was happy to follow the specific food instructions. I got daily updates and all pets were well looked after. Shona also kept me up to date with other things like parcel deliveries and brought everything in for me. Would definitely recommend 😊
I've used Rover a couple of times before and Elise is by far the best sitter I've had. The photos showed she was interacting with the cats, giving them fuss and playing with them and when there was something she wasn't sure about she got in touch about it. Highly recommended and will definitely use again.
Having booked Ellie before, I knew she would be a fantastic sitter, and she didn't disappoint. Super helpful, kind, communicative and thorough, and really helpful when she noticed my cat had an eye injury. Again, came back to a lovely clean environment and two happy kitties ☺️ Would absolutely recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
