I also have a degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, as well as working in animal-care settings since the age of 14. I have had pets all my life, and currently own 2 terriers, a British Blue cat and a menagerie of rabbits/guinea pigs. I look forward to hearing from you! I work full time, but I am available Tuesdays all day, most evenings and some weekends. I can drop by: before work (usually 7-8am, during lunch, and after work (between 5-7pm). Can also do additional later evening visits on request. I will care for your pets just as I do my own, with all the love and attention they require. About: Growing up with cats, kittens, fish, and sea monkies, as well as looking after stray cats often, I was often trusted by my family to care and feed for our pets growing up. I now have 2 beautiful, very well trained and well behaved 4 month old kittens who have recently been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for fleas and worms. I am very patient with any animal, ensuring they are gently introduced to new people/toys/environments at a pace that suits them. I always care to give pets the mental and physical stimulation they need, and all the cuddles and affection they deserve. I have more experience with cats than dogs, but don't let this put you off as I absolutely adore dogs, and have gone on many walks with friend's dogs! I currently work 4 days a week from Tuesday-Friday. I work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays typically and more than happy to pet-sit while working from home. I am available to pet-sit on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I am available for boarding from Friday evenings to Tuesday evenings. I have two friendly, indoor kittens who are very loving and affectionate, which in turn has made me a very caring and affectionate pet sitter! My flat is on the first floor and windows are all protected/cat-proofed. All wires are either secured down or tucked away, and any hazards are out of reach. I allow pets on my furniture, but I tend to use a water spray if I need them to stay away from anything, e.g. the stove or dining table. I also ensure they are fed before I am to reduce the chances of them stealing any human food. I live right on the Malvern Hills and surrounded by beautiful walking paths for your pets. It is a lovely, quiet area, perfect if your pet becomes distressed by other pets/humans.

About: After begging my whole life, I finally was allowed to get my own dog back in 2021. I got Ivy (my dog) as a puppy and completed all her training by myself. I think I’d read just about every dog training and behaviour book on the market so I could give Ivy the best environment possible. While I got very lucky with Ivy’s temperament, I have been a sitter for reactive dogs before. One dog in particular whom I have walked on occasion (but mostly did home visits) was very reactive and anti-social. I did meetings with the owner present to ensure the dog was comfortable with me before completing home visits alone. While on walks, it was imperative to keep this dog away from all other dogs, especially off-leash ones. I picked routes that ensured encountering minimal other people, and when we did come across other dog walkers I simply moved a fair distance off the path and held Frankie’s (the dog) attention using treats and positive reinforcement. By ensuring she kept her focus on me until the people had passed, it kept her reactivity to a minimum. Her reactivity was triggered by fear and anxiety, so avoidance of such situations meant that she was comfortable and therefore a pleasure to walk. I have experience sitting/walking dogs of all ages (including puppies and seniors) and feel comfortable with all breeds/sizes. I’m currently a university student, and with summer coming up I will have plenty of free time! I recognise the importance of reliability within pet-care and can promise to communicate my availability in advance. I have a fenced garden and space for a crate if necessary (however you would have to provide this equipment). Apart from larger equipment (like a crate/car cage, etc.) I can provide most things myself, such as food and water bowls, toys, treats, leash, etc. However these are mostly there as a ‘just in case’ option, as it is always better to use equipment your pet is already familiar with to avoid any discomfort or stress.

“Leanna and Lauren did an amazing job of looking after my 2 cats. They took the time to get to know the cats and their personalities and fussed & played with them as well as feeding them and administering medication (tablets and eye ointment) to one of the cats. They sent detailed updates and lovely photos. Unfortunately one of my cats became ill and they quickly identified the problem and let me know straight away. Using a cat sitter when my cat was unwell and needing medication was difficult but Leanna and Lauren showed a lot of care and compassion and were very reassuring. I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again.”

Alice met us beforehand to discuss what we needed and did exactly what we asked during her 2 visits to Cotton - including checking in and clearing up when our elderly cat unfortunately was sick after she ate! So sorry Alice! Alice is personable, responsible and reliable and we look forward to using her in the future for dog walks and house sitting.
