About: I’ve grown up with pets my whole life. As a child I had a collie growing up and then while bringing my young children up we had hamsters, cats and fish. Recently the family cat passed away so it’s strange having no furry companion in the home when I’ve had it my whole life. Both of my grown up children have dogs who I love walking and looking after and playing with. I retired early at the age of 55, so now I spend my time in the gym, spending time with my 1yr and a half grand daughter or with my sons labradoodle and cat who I look after when they go away or I frequently go and walk the dog when they are busy. I’ve also looked after my daughters mixed breed (staffie/frenchdog) in Belfast. So my day can revolve around your pet whether they love attention or rather be more independent I have a fenced garden and can drive to more scenic big walks or live local to fields and small walks. The dog is welcome throughout the home to feel relaxed
“Joella was fantastic! We were visiting Plymouth and needed someone to look after our puppy whilst we visited family. Joella met the evening before to meet pup and was so helpful and flexible. On the day, great Comms and pics whilst she had him. Thank you Joella! Fully recommend!!!”

About: I’ve been looking after my own animals and friends and families ever since i was a child, i’m excited to meet your fluffy cuties too. I am currently on maternity leave till August 2027, so i spend lots of time at home where i have the capacity to look after some fur babies. I have a fenced garden and a dog flap. Your doggys will always have access to the secure garden and downstairs living areas. They’ll get lots of cwtches and strokes.
“Annie did a great job looking after our Maine Coon. She was also kind enough to meet him before we went on our trip and Kermit instantly took a liking to her, which like almost any cat, is not common for him. Report cards were thorough and always had more than one picture attached.”

“We found Caitlin to be a very conscientious carer for our cat during our 8 day holiday. Lots of feed back received with photos or videos each day. Cat litter changed when necessary. Play & cuddles provided during the hour session. We returned to a very happy cat. Fully Recommended! Very happy cat owners Mike & Fiona”

About: I've been a sitter for my sisters dog, willow for the past 3 years whilst she goes on her travels. My children enjoy having a dog in the house & I enjoy watching them play in our garden. I have pets in the past, a rescue stafi Tia, two cats mitzi and Pandora. They were loved beyond measure. I'm a stay at home mother with two small children. We go for walks daily, come rain or shine. We have a very relaxed home environment, my children love to play in the garden mostly and are besotted with animals, including creatures they find in the garden. My eldest daughter is nearly 3 and absolutely loves playing fetch with her aunties dog Willow who often stays with us when she's on holiday. We enjoy walking in the near by feilds and exploring a new home town. We have recently moved in to our new home and can offer a large enclosed garden, plenty of room for running up and down. Our house is small but spacious enough for our furry friends to stay over.

About: Growing up with cats, kittens, fish, and sea monkies, as well as looking after stray cats often, I was often trusted by my family to care and feed for our pets growing up. I now have 2 beautiful, very well trained and well behaved 4 month old kittens who have recently been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for fleas and worms. I am very patient with any animal, ensuring they are gently introduced to new people/toys/environments at a pace that suits them. I always care to give pets the mental and physical stimulation they need, and all the cuddles and affection they deserve. I have more experience with cats than dogs, but don't let this put you off as I absolutely adore dogs, and have gone on many walks with friend's dogs! I currently work 4 days a week from Tuesday-Friday. I work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays typically and more than happy to pet-sit while working from home. I am available to pet-sit on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I am available for boarding from Friday evenings to Tuesday evenings. I have two friendly, indoor kittens who are very loving and affectionate, which in turn has made me a very caring and affectionate pet sitter! My flat is on the first floor and windows are all protected/cat-proofed. All wires are either secured down or tucked away, and any hazards are out of reach. I allow pets on my furniture, but I tend to use a water spray if I need them to stay away from anything, e.g. the stove or dining table. I also ensure they are fed before I am to reduce the chances of them stealing any human food. I live right on the Malvern Hills and surrounded by beautiful walking paths for your pets. It is a lovely, quiet area, perfect if your pet becomes distressed by other pets/humans.
About: I am incredibly reliable, trustworthy, and flexible. I've had pets my entire life and for the past 10 or so years, I’ve cared for others in addition to my own. I have experience caring for dogs and cats, and of all different sizes and breeds. Growing up, I had a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and I have now got a mixed breed dog, Rottweiler x Border Collie x Rhodesian Ridgeback who always has lots of energy and 3 cats. From pet sitting, long or short walks, and of course taking care of my own pets, I’ve got experience with it all! I’ve also administered medication to dogs and cats of all ages and sizes. I trained Leia from 6 weeks old, so teaching puppies new tricks and helping train them is always a fun time! I will love on your pet with everything I have. I can look after your pets around my work times. In the week I work Monday - Friday so can look after your pets before and after work, and on weekends. Depending on where abouts you are I can also drop in at lunchtime. I work from home so I am able to happily do drop in visits, dog walking and long stays and give your four legged friends all the attention and love they deserve! I am unable to do home stays due to my cats, but rest assured, your pets will be well looked after within your home. I love dogs and cats that are not mine as if they were my own! I have many years of caring for dogs, cats and other animals. I am good at taking care of multiple pets and different types of pets. I have taken care of dogs and cats who need meds, older dogs/cats, puppies/kittens, etc. I will be engaging and loving with your pet. I am more than happy to meet your expectations and the needs of your furry friend and I will work with you on what you should need with flexibility and understanding. I can’t wait to sit/walk your treasured baby. If you decide to choose me, I will go above and beyond, as that is my style in life and with animals and people.
“Nicol did an amazing job looking after our cats, ducks, chickens, goats and lambs while we were away for a week. She came around prior to us going away to understand the various animal needs and gave us photo and video updates as well. Highly recommend.”
About: Loving Care for Your Furry Family Member, I had a dog for the first 14 years of my life in which she became blind and deaf, this meant I had to give her oral and injections to treat her, I have experience in looking after my friends and families dogs as well. Pet care is a top priority for me every day, and I'm fully available round the clock. Whether it's early morning walks, daytime play sessions, or late-night snuggles, I'm dedicated to ensuring the animals receive the love and attention they deserve whenever they need it. When caring for pets in my home, they become part of the family. With a gated garden for outdoor play and exploration, along with a spacious living room and kitchen for indoor relaxation and activities. Daily walks, interactive play sessions, and cozy nap times are all part of the routine.
“Becky is lovely. Teddy clicked with her immediately and treated her like a long lost friend. This was Becky's first visit to our house and I felt very comfortable with her. She clearly understands dogs very well and behaves in an affectionate and kind way towards them. I will definitely be in touch with Becky again.”

About: After begging my whole life, I finally was allowed to get my own dog back in 2021. I got Ivy (my dog) as a puppy and completed all her training by myself. I think I’d read just about every dog training and behaviour book on the market so I could give Ivy the best environment possible. While I got very lucky with Ivy’s temperament, I have been a sitter for reactive dogs before. One dog in particular whom I have walked on occasion (but mostly did home visits) was very reactive and anti-social. I did meetings with the owner present to ensure the dog was comfortable with me before completing home visits alone. While on walks, it was imperative to keep this dog away from all other dogs, especially off-leash ones. I picked routes that ensured encountering minimal other people, and when we did come across other dog walkers I simply moved a fair distance off the path and held Frankie’s (the dog) attention using treats and positive reinforcement. By ensuring she kept her focus on me until the people had passed, it kept her reactivity to a minimum. Her reactivity was triggered by fear and anxiety, so avoidance of such situations meant that she was comfortable and therefore a pleasure to walk. I have experience sitting/walking dogs of all ages (including puppies and seniors) and feel comfortable with all breeds/sizes. I’m currently a university student, and with summer coming up I will have plenty of free time! I recognise the importance of reliability within pet-care and can promise to communicate my availability in advance. I have a fenced garden and space for a crate if necessary (however you would have to provide this equipment). Apart from larger equipment (like a crate/car cage, etc.) I can provide most things myself, such as food and water bowls, toys, treats, leash, etc. However these are mostly there as a ‘just in case’ option, as it is always better to use equipment your pet is already familiar with to avoid any discomfort or stress.
“Abi has such a lovely caring manner with dogs. Louis our young cocker was immediately comfortable with her. I wouldn’t hesitate to use her services again. Louis looks forward to seeing her again soon.”

We had a wonderful experience with Emily ! Both of our cats loved her, including our usually shy cat who is always scared of strangers. She was so patient and caring, and it was such a relief knowing they were happy and comfortable. She also went above and beyond by vacuuming their mess every day, leaving everything spotless. We came home to two very happy cats and couldn’t recommend her highly enough!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
