“Lovely young woman, she was very thorough with understanding my dogs needs, her communication was excellent and I didn't worry at all about leaving my dogs with her and they were very happy in her care. I have 2 little rescues and the right care is paramount due to their past traumas and I genuinely am so thrilled with the care she gave them. She will be my first go to whenever I need anyone to watch them for me again. I would highly recommend Emily!”

“We couldn’t have been happier with the care Jane gave our border terrier. We came home to a happy dog and a lovely tidy house. Thank you Jane we shall definitely book you again. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.”

“Scott communicated clearly all the way up until the booking. He was on time.Responded when we messaged but most importantly our dogs Daisy and Milly enjoyed spending time and the walks with Scott. We will be booking Scott again for.oir next family get away.”

About: I have nearly four years of hands-on experience working with dogs in a professional doggy daycare environment, alongside regular pet sitting for a variety of breeds and temperaments. During this time, I completed a Level 2 qualification in Animal Care and Welfare with distinction, giving me a strong understanding of dog behaviour, safety, and wellbeing. I’ve grown up around dogs, so caring for them has always been a natural part of my life. I’m confident handling dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels, and I always aim to provide a safe, fun, and reliable experience for both pets and their owners. Pet care is a natural and consistent part of my daily routine. Having worked in a doggy daycare for nearly four years, I’m used to structuring my day around dogs’ needs, including regular walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and monitoring behaviour and wellbeing. I’m organised and flexible, which allows me to plan my day around each dog’s routine, ensuring they get the attention, exercise, and care they need at the right times. Whether it’s early morning walks, midday visits, or evening care, I’m used to adapting to different schedules. When caring for pets, I always tailor my approach to suit each dog’s individual routine, personality, and needs to help them feel comfortable and secure. In a pet owner’s home, I stick closely to their usual schedule, including feeding times, walks, play, and any specific instructions. This helps keep things familiar and reduces stress for the pet. I make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and mental stimulation, as well as keeping their environment clean and safe. I’m also happy to provide updates and photos for peace of mind. With my experience working in a doggy daycare, I’m confident managing different temperaments, energy levels, and group dynamics, and I always prioritise safety, wellbeing, and positive experiences.
“Joella was fantastic with our dog and Bracken loved her literally from the second she met her! Communication was great throughout from the meet and greet through to sitting. Our dog came into heat the day before the sit and Joella was totally unfazed and asked lots of good questions about how to look after Bracken. She left the house really tidy for us to return to. We’d recommend her and would love to have her back!”

About: Hi everybody! I’ve had my Cavapoo Rolo for 4 years now and the time has completely flown by! Over the years i’ve walked him 3x everyday and have taught him so many skills and we will be entering our first competition in 2026! Over the past year i have also took on caring for my grandmothers golden Labrador as she’s unable to provide walks etc, however still loves him and his company to pieces so i am honoured to be able to keep them together! I’m currently working part time from Fridays through till Sundays so have plenty of quality time and care for your pets. i’m quite an active person in my personal life, so depending on your pets needs, if they need a 2 hour walk or as little as 30 minutes neither will be a challenge. I have a fenced garden and have cctv surrounding the back garden to view. i also have a box for all post etc to not scare or aggravate pets.

About: Until now, in 57 years, I have never known a time in my life without a dog to care for. Now is the time to give my time to yours whenever needed. I work from home primarily. Occasionally I will need to show my face at the office but this is rare. I will always be open and honest with all potential clients when booking so that your pet is cared for exactly as you wish. If you don't see your required availability please do contact me for a discussion to see if I can rework my diary. I have only stipulated days I am always available. I live alone in the countryside with a large fenced garden alongside open fields and designated footpath walks along the River Wye. Your pet/s will be given free roam of my home, with no restrictions unless you would prefer me to instill "at home rules". Sadly, I don't have a dog of my own any longer - so yours will be my priority and I am free to continue any training patterns without disruption and dedicate my time to your darling dog/s. I am a confident experienced dog owner and love to walk - I walk A LOT - it seems silly not to be taking a pampered 4 legged friend with me :) All mud and gunk removed before returning to rightful owner!!
About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 10 years old, I've walked fed and bathed my dog frequently and have also taken care of family's dogs in their homes. Pet care fits into my schedule around my day job. I work in a shop at the moment so my hours are not always the same. However I will try my best to work around whatever works best for you. If I care for pets I would prefer to do it in the owners home as they may not get on with my own pets
“Fantastic, reassuring and kind. Our cockapoo Mylo doesn’t get left and Becky was amazing with him. We also got a couple of pics showing him nice and settled and having cuddles. Would be super confident to leave Mylo with Becky again after a long time of not leaving him alone. Thank you so much Becky.”

About: I have had different breeds in my life and they have always been happy I have trained some dogs into basic skills as of sit, paw, turn around, and whisper Anytime after 3:30 as working in childcare is my main job but always feel like they is some of my time towards animals as that’s what I love Making sure all fencing is secured and doors so they can’t get loose, as hot weather can be a lot for dogs making sure they always have water to remain cool and allowing dogs to be comfortable in their own space
“Sarah and John were so lovely. I had no hesitation in leaving Ted and Cato with them. They treated the house with great respect and our animals clearly warmed to them immediately. I would recommend them to anyone, but want to keep them just for us!”

“Alice and her boyfriend were great. My old dog was very comfortable at their place, they had a lot of patience with him as he was a little disoriented in a new place. Communication was excellent and all of his needs were met. Highly recommend!”

About: We understand from having dogs who do not like being left how important it is to have them cared for in a home environment. Our dog has full run of the house, sleeps on the bed and sofa and has three walks a day. My husband, Mark and I work from home and regularly look after friends pets when they go away from home. Recently, we looked after a springer spaniel for 6 weeks. However, our daughter is a vet so we understand that each dog has different needs and we would maintain any specific routine for your dog. Around 7 in the morning we go for our first walk of the day , then feed breakfast. Then another walk at lunchtime and we finish with an evening walk followed by supper. Our large garden is fully enclosed and dogs are not left on their own. Happy to follow a similar routine to what they have at their home.
“Annie was brilliant with both our pets. Our cat is very timid but he came out of his shell and spent time with Annie. Our dog absolutely loved having her spend time with him and take him on a walk. Both our pets were thoroughly looked after as if they were her own and we would recommend Annie to anyone looking for a pet sitter”

The median cost per night for house sitting in County of Herefordshire is £35
Pet owners share their Rover experiences - County of Herefordshire
Wow, we have just returned from a weeks holiday and Emily stayed with our dog Luna whilst we were away. She has clearly looked after both the dog and the house incredibly well. We received updates throughout our holiday and Emily was very thorough in asking questions before we left to make sure Luna was well looked after without us. Would recommend again and again, thank you!

Charlotte came round to meet Daisy before the stay and asked all the right questions to ensure she could look after Daisy. Charlotte was warm and friendly and we knew she was a good match for Daisy. Charlotte looked after Daisy for 1 night. She stayed in our guest room. Charlotte sent photos of Daisy through the day keeping us informed on what she was up to with Daisy. She respected our home and kept the house tidy. We would 200% book Charlotte again!

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in County of Herefordshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
