“Annie was brilliant with both our pets. Our cat is very timid but he came out of his shell and spent time with Annie. Our dog absolutely loved having her spend time with him and take him on a walk. Both our pets were thoroughly looked after as if they were her own and we would recommend Annie to anyone looking for a pet sitter”

“Jamie was amazing! This was my first time using a sitter and he really put me at ease. He took great care of my 3 dogs, sent photo updates, and made sure they were happy all weekend. Couldn’t have asked for better - highly recommend and will definitely book again.”

“Fay looked after our German Shepherd Dog Izzy for 3 nights. Communication throughout the process has been great and she suggested a pre meet up so she could meet Izzy and we could ask any questions, this was great as it put our minds at ease about someone staying in our home. Whilst away with got several updates a day with pictures and videos included. Will definitely use Fay again in the future”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals — from dogs and cats to rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters — and can’t imagine life without them. I got my cockapoo, Kylo, as a puppy during lockdown and was fully responsible for her training, socialisation, and care. She’s now 4 years old, friendly, affectionate, and loves company. Raising her from a puppy taught me a lot about patience, consistency, and understanding different temperaments — especially as she can be a little anxious and has a sensitive tummy. I know how to create calm, structured routines that help pets feel secure and confident. I’ve also cared for friends’ dogs and cats, including those with specific diets or anxious personalities, and I always focus on finding the right balance of play, enrichment, and rest so every pet feels happy, stimulated, and relaxed. I work as a primary school teaching assistant during term time, which means I’m available for pet care on weekends and throughout school holidays. My role requires patience, attentiveness, and a nurturing approach—qualities I naturally bring into caring for animals too. Outside of school hours, I have the time and energy to dedicate to walks, playtime, and companionship, ensuring your pet feels safe, cared for, and well looked after. I live in a secure town house with plenty of space and open fields right outside — perfect for walks and fresh air. Pets in my care are treated like family, and I make sure each one feels safe, comfortable, and calm from the moment they arrive. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or visiting yours, I follow their usual routines for feeding, walks, and downtime to keep everything consistent. You’ll always receive regular updates and photos, so you can relax knowing your furry friend is happy and in good hands.
About: Hi, I'm Mo, a South-West England based dog and cat lover who has grown up around animals my whole life and currently cares for pets belonging to family and friends on a regular basis. Animals have always been a central part of my life, and looking after them isn't a side hustle I stumbled into, its an enjoyable experience for me too that gives fulfilment other side hustles do not provide. I offer dog walking, boarding at my home, drop-in visits and house sitting across inner London. Whether your dog needs a good long walk, or your pet needs some company during the day, or someone to stay with them while you're away, I'll make sure they're looked after with the same care and attention I'd give my own. I know how much your pet means to you and ,so I treat every dog/cat that I look after as if they were my own (like my cute cat Nova). I'm reliable, punctual, calm around dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and communicative,so you'll never be left wondering how your dog is doing. I'm available flexibly across the week and can accommodate last-minute bookings where possible. I'd love to meet you and your pet before any booking, a quick meet and greet means we both feel confident from day one! I am usually working from home so I am home most days of the week during the mornings/ afternoons ,however I am able to accomodate for furry friends! Here's what a typical day looks like when I'm walking or boarding a dog: morning walks at a good pace with time to sniff and explore, regular updates and photos sent to you throughout the day, plenty of play and attention, and a calm, settled routine so your pet feels comfortable and at ease. I treat every pet in my care as if they were my own, which means safety and comfort are always the priority, not just during the booking but from the very first message. At my home (boarding and drop-ins): My home is a calm, clean and pet-friendly environment. I keep all potential hazards out of reach, ensure doors and gates are secure at all times and never leave a boarding dog unattended for extended periods. Pets staying with me have their own comfortable space to sleep and settle, access to fresh water at all times and a consistent daily routine to help them feel at ease quickly. I live in inner London with good access to local parks and green spaces for walks and exercise throughout the day. At a pet owner's home (house sitting and drop-in visits): I follow the owner's routine and instructions carefully and precisely: feeding schedules, medication if required, preferred walking routes, sleeping arrangements. I treat the home with full respect and discretion and communicate any concerns or changes immediately rather than waiting until the end of a booking. Communication: Pet owners receive regular photo and text updates throughout every booking so they can relax knowing exactly how their pet is doing. I never leave a client wondering. If anything changes or I have any concern about a pet's wellbeing, I reach out immediately and handle it calmly and responsibly. Meet and greet: I always encourage a meet and greet before any first booking. It gives your pet the chance to get comfortable with me, and it gives you the chance to see how I interact with them before committing. Transparency and trust from the start is how I work.
About: What sets me apart as a dog sitter is that I’ve truly lived a life surrounded by dogs — all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. From playful puppies to gentle seniors, I’ve cared for them all, and each one has taught me something new about patience, communication, and unconditional love. I understand that every dog is unique — some need extra time to warm up, some need to burn off tons of energy, and others just want a calm lap and some quiet company. I’m confident handling everything from crate training and leash manners to giving meds or helping older dogs with mobility issues. Because I’ve had dogs my whole life, this kind of care is second nature to me. Beyond the basics, I focus on building trust with each dog so they feel safe, secure, and loved while you’re away. It’s not just about keeping them fed — it’s about making sure they’re happy and emotionally cared for too. Pet care is a big part of my everyday life — it’s not just something I do, it’s part of who I am! I work weekdays from 9 to 4, so I plan my pet care around that schedule. Mornings and evenings are dedicated to walks, feeding, playtime, and cuddles, and I’m available for pet sitting visits before or after work, as well as on weekends. Since I already care for my own dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and fish, animal care is part of my daily rhythm — it’s second nature. I’m used to juggling different needs and routines, and I love spending that time connecting with animals and making sure they’re happy, healthy, and comfortable In my own home, pet care is woven into my daily routine — from feeding and cleaning to walks, playtime, and lots of love. With dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and fish under one roof (or in the yard!), I’m experienced in managing different needs and personalities. I make sure every animal gets the right balance of structure, attention, and comfort. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I take the time to learn their likes, quirks, and schedules — whether that’s giving a shy cat space, keeping a playful pup entertained, or making sure medications are given on time. I treat every home with respect and every pet like they’re part of my own animal family.
“Shannon was fantastic! Super reliable, respectful, and easy to communicate with. We came home to a clean house and happy pets — everything was just as we left it. She took amazing care of our dogs and parrots, giving them lots of attention and keeping them calm and happy while we were away. Would definitely have her house sit for us again!”

About: I have been a walker for cinnamon trust and have also recently completed an online puppy training course. I also have experience with dogs through family and friends. I do not work Saturday-Tuesday and can do overnight stays at weekends. Every other weekend it is just me at home so I can do home stays at owners home. I cannot take dogs who are unable to be left on their own. All dogs I take must be friendly with young children. I have a fully enclosed good sized garden which has artificial grass so usable all year round. I live a 1 minute walk to fields perfect for walking dogs with no roads to cross. I allow dogs on my sofa and in my bed for cuddles. I have space for a crate if owner can provide for their dogs comfort. I live in a bungalow so suitable for elderly dogs. I have a pet free home and my 2 year old son lives with me so a child friendly dog is essential. Dogs must be able to be left on their own for short periods of time. I also will happily pop in to feed, play with and litter scoop cats.
“Artur stayed at my house for just under 2 weeks looking after my two dogs. He kept in touch with photos the whole time I was away. My house was immaculate when I got back. My dogs were super happy and very well looked after. When my flight home was unfortunately delayed he was able to stay an extra night last minute which gave me complete peace of mind in a stressful situation. I will 100% be using Artur again I can’t recommend him highly enough”

About: I’ve taken care of friends and family dogs over the years, including walks, overnight stays and day care. I’ve love dogs since I could say the word unfortunately it’s not the right time in my life to have my own but I would love to help care for yours I’m currently on a break from my job, I usually work on cruise ships, so my schedule is very free for the next few months. I understand that all animals have different wants and needs, some use a crate and some like to use the whole house. I would follow whatever routine you have to make sure your animal is happy and comfortable
“Booked Jess again to look after Tony for a few nights - Jess was communicative with updates and any questions she had. Tony was very well looked after while I was away and happy when I returned home. I would definitely recommend Jess”

“Shaylee might just be the best in the business! We booked our 1 year old cocker spaniel Winnie to stay with Shaylee whilst we were on holiday for 4 days. It was a late booking and there was never a problem too big or too small with Shaylee. We received regular updates and pictures which made us feel reassured. Shaylee went above and beyond with looking after Winnie and I honesty can’t speak highly enough of the service Shaylee provides.”

“Emily looked after our little puppy when we went away for the night. She was really flexible and friendly the whole time. Our puppy is a little shy but he had a great time there and Emily looked after him very well, even letting him out at night. We would definitely use Emily again. Thank you xxx”

“Zoe was absolutely fantastic! We booked Zoe to dog sit in our home over 3 day's and couldn't have been happier with how it went. We had regular updates with pictures of Loki on his walks and relaxing at home, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Our home was as clean and tidy when we got back as when we left it. We would happily book Zoe again without hesitation 🙂”

“I was immediately impressed with Izabela. Her biography showed that she was experienced with big dogs and on meeting my two greyhounds she was calm and well able to manage their excitement. They took to her straightaway and she was able to manage their anxiety at my leaving them with her with regular interaction and activities throughout the day. I consider Izabela will be an ongoing source of help for me and I am looking forward to planning other visits with her.”

“Magdalena was absolutely lovely with Guava. Guava is very nervous when meeting new people, but Magdalena was so patient, kind, and understanding, and really took the time to help her feel comfortable. She also sent me lovely updates throughout, including photos, videos, and a sweet little slideshow, which I really appreciated. It was so nice to see how much Guava warmed up to her. I’d definitely recommend her.”

Fay was very attentive to Edgar, who was initially shy but was won round by her. Excellent communication with lots of positive updates and photos. We returned to a happy dog! Would definitely call her again and reccommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.
Our first time leaving our 9 year old lurcher with a pet sitter, and Hannah was amazing. Our dog was clearly totally relaxed with Hannah around. She took great care of the house, communication was excellent throught her stay, and she put us completely at ease. Even when our travel plans changed slightly on our return home. Hannah was so warm and accommodating. We'd book her again in a heartbeat.

Couldn’t have asked for better, Georgia gave so many updates and kept our Dolly cool and safe even during the 30 degree weather! Have came home to a very happy cat, will definitely be using Georgia again, house was kept clean and tidy, we no longer have any worries about going away🩷

Rebecca babysat my 3 greyhounds for the evening, she was so good, they were happy and content with her, Frank cuddled up to her all evening! She sent me photographs of them during the evening so I knew they were ok. I would definitely book her again and strongly recommend her.
we are late giving a review which is no reflection on Vanessa. its our first time using Rover and also having a house sitter. we were extremely hesitant about getting a sitter because it was so new to us and we have had the luxury of having family and friends previously. Right from the start Vanessa made and effort and relieved our concerns, it was like having a family friend coming to meet us and our house hold. Vanessa showed her friendly caring and affectionate character soon as arriving. Our Pug took straight to her like she had always known her. Due to our devastating family loss of our beloved Staffordshire bull terrier of 16 years, Rosie has been very quite and reserved in her emotions seemly lost. Vanessa is a wonderful lady whom is kind and very willing. taking care of Rosie needs Our house was kept and retuned in an immaculate condition after our two weeks away. Vanessa was willing to accommodate our needs and preferences even going as far as buying roses weekly for our passed staffy, buying wrapping paper for a family birthday the day of our return. She was wonderful with our rabbits keeping their hutch clean and trying them with new foods. She would send regular updates and photos from our fury friends the whole time we were away. We would highly recommend Vanessa.
Evie was a fabulous dog sitter, she kept me updated on how Percy was doing regularly. Evie was always accommodating meeting Percy before she sat for him. I knew he was in safe hands. Evie was so respectful and kind, left our house immaculately. Totally trustworthy and perfect thank you to Evie.

The dogs were looked after so well it was worrying leaving them with someone I've never met before but Kaylene put all my worries at ease. Sent me pictures throughout the day and they took a real shine to her. Will definitely use Kaylene again and will look into going for a weekly walks

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Gloucester walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gloucester choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
