About: I grew up with two to five dogs at a time at our household, and me being the youngest, meant that I had more free time to spend with them. I always made sure that they were not only taken care of, but also made sure that they were happy. I valued my bond with all of them, and they taught me how to love and patient with everyone - especially dogs. Now that I've moved countries, I always miss them but it's always such an honour to meet new fluffy friends! They're lovely company, and deserve the best treatment. My dogs taught me happiness and friendship and I intend to make them proud today by how I will take care of yours! I currently WFH on Monday and Fridays, so I can be available for house sits the whole day, or dog walks/drop ins from 6:00 to 8:30, 13:00 to 14:00 or after 18:00 those days. I am free all day during weekends (subject to availability). Note that I no longer offer boarding services as I can no longer have dogs in my home due to family reasons. I have a garden for dogs to play with, close to big parks and I always ensure that I am aware of their wellbeing at all times. I am observant and conscious of their needs - whether that be food to just simple love and care!

Abbie was a great cat sitter. She made sure to visit before we went away and meet the cats and work out where everything she needed was. She visited as agreed, fed the cats and also spent time playing and interacting and playing with them. Plenty of photos and updates meant that we could get on and enjoy our holiday without any worries!

We cannot say enough good things about Ella! We had a meet and greet where we took the time to understand our routine, home, training and feeding schedules. We have just had our first booked session and could not be happier. Our puppy has separation anxiety, is on an awkward diet and I’m super fussy about who looks after her! So we’re not an easy booking. But within 2 minutes our puppy was calmly and happily playing and training with Ella. She immediately responded well to Ella’s extremely calm and patient nature and was totally content with her. This is a big deal as she’s a lockdown puppy and can be hesitant with new people. We’re looking forward to booking Ella again and feel so lucky to have found someone so kind to look after our puppy.

We booked a pop in visit after being really pleased with our overnight dog sitting from Fay and everything was great. Fay made sure that our dog had some exercise and play and some company during the day, and also shared information, photos and videos with us so we knew that all was well. Our dog has been happy to see her and we will book again 🙂

About: I have my own dogs (Patterdale terriers & jack russel). I have grown up in the farming industry, so I spent my childhood riding horses, running through the fields and playing with the dogs. My dogs are the first thing I look at in the morning and the last thing I I say goodnight to. If I didn’t have dogs, my life would be silent, they create more fun. Im currently studying at uni, i can be flexible for drop in home visits in between of lectures or long breaks. The latest I finish on a Monday and Friday is 6. I do have early morning rugby training(this would only cause inconvenience with overnight stays) as I would have to leave early. Weekends are completely free. Tuesday is free all day with one online lecture in the evening, and Thursday is also free all day with one evening lecture. Wednesday is normally game day,(this can change weekly). Dog walking- I can walk (custom to dog)x a day. I would keep the dog on the lead unless said otherwise by owners, likewise with interacting with other dogs. Drop ins- I can let the dog in the garden, and play for length of time I have free, and top up water and food bowl. Overnight stays- ensure they have been let out before bed, have a little play, and food is eaten.

Shannon was fantastic looking after our very grumpy cat while we were away! She popped in every morning to feed him and sort the litter tray, and it was such a relief knowing he was being so well looked after. We really appreciated the updates, and, he was clearly very well cared for. Would definitely recommend Shannon to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals — from dogs and cats to rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters — and can’t imagine life without them. I got my cockapoo, Kylo, as a puppy during lockdown and was fully responsible for her training, socialisation, and care. She’s now 4 years old, friendly, affectionate, and loves company. Raising her from a puppy taught me a lot about patience, consistency, and understanding different temperaments — especially as she can be a little anxious and has a sensitive tummy. I know how to create calm, structured routines that help pets feel secure and confident. I’ve also cared for friends’ dogs and cats, including those with specific diets or anxious personalities, and I always focus on finding the right balance of play, enrichment, and rest so every pet feels happy, stimulated, and relaxed. I work as a primary school teaching assistant during term time, which means I’m available for pet care on weekends and throughout school holidays. My role requires patience, attentiveness, and a nurturing approach—qualities I naturally bring into caring for animals too. Outside of school hours, I have the time and energy to dedicate to walks, playtime, and companionship, ensuring your pet feels safe, cared for, and well looked after. I live in a secure town house with plenty of space and open fields right outside — perfect for walks and fresh air. Pets in my care are treated like family, and I make sure each one feels safe, comfortable, and calm from the moment they arrive. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or visiting yours, I follow their usual routines for feeding, walks, and downtime to keep everything consistent. You’ll always receive regular updates and photos, so you can relax knowing your furry friend is happy and in good hands.

Orla is the first dog sitter I’ve ever used so I was naturally a bit nervous, but she has been absolutely fantastic and completely put me at ease when leaving my boy Bruce at home with her. At our first meeting to discuss everything, Bruce instantly took to her, he settled down with his head on her lap and fell asleep! He has never done that with someone he’d just met before, which really says it all. Orla has such a lovely calm manner and her experience with dogs really shines through, Bruce absolutely adores her! Bruce has lots of energy and Orla is brilliant at keeping him entertained and happy. She also sends through some great photo updates which I love, she is always very responsive and easy to communicate with, which gives so much reassurance while I’m away 😆 If you’re debating which dog sitter to choose, you can absolutely trust Orla. Thank you ☺️ xx

Great experience with Annie. Our two young cats got on very well with her and she clearly made the time to stop and play and make a fuss of them as well as feed them. She also made an effort to go and find one locally when it hadn’t appeared for its food the day before. Comms were good too. Thanks Annie!

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Gloucester pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gloucester choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
