About: Hi, my name is Alix. I am 23 years old and live in a ground floor flat in matson, Gloucester. I have 2 children, 3&5 years old. I also have 4 cats who have been the first encounter for many dogs which I am happy to do with the owner here if your dog hasn’t been around cats before. I also understand that sometimes dogs and cats aren’t the best of friends so I’m happy to keep them separate if needed. I unfortunately don’t currently drive so you would need to bring your pooch to me. Caring for dogs is a passion for me. I took a break from dog boarding for a while but now on the hunt to make more doggy friends and help out owners! I have been dog boarding for 3 years now and cared for dogs of all ages. My children are used to dogs & my partner has 2 Staffordshire bull terriers at his mum’s who my children see regularly. I also have a jack russel and a jug at my mum’s who I absolutely adore and grew up with. I have my own fenced garden and will definitely take your pooch on walks at our local field! Please get in touch if you’re interested. :).. I’m currently unemployed so always at home. Monday & friday I do school pick up and drop off, however if your dog isn’t very good with being alone I can bring them along or I can find someone else to take my daughter to school on the odd occasion if need be of the 2 days I usually do and I will stay home to ensure your dog isn’t left alone. As long as i have notice i can ensure we’re home all day if need be for your dogs anxiety I am in a ground floor flat, I have my own fenced garden and a field nearby which dogs absolutely love to go and have a run around. I keep dogs on lead for safety. Dogs will be welcome to come on the furniture and sleep in the bed unless the owner requests otherwise.
“Our experience with Beth and Dan was perfect in every sense. Great comms throughout, offered an introduction of our Ewok with their dog Darcy (who is an angel), and made Ewok feel utterly spoiled. She loved her time there, and we'll re-book again in a heartbeat.”

About: I have a deep love for animals of all shapes and sizes. Having grown up with cats, dogs and other pets such as my sake named Sydney, it taught me how to handle the unique personalities and needs of each pet. I’ve also volunteered at a local rescue centre where I gain valuable skills in managing anxious and vulnerable dogs. I believe in providing your pets with the same care, love and patience that I give my own. My partner and I are homeowner locally but we have no pets here and we miss not having a pet like we both grew up with. My partner works from home on a flexible schedule to help and support pets and their owners and I look forward to getting time around some fury friends. I have a safe and secure flat with a small outside space that I could care for your pet in. Within your own home I would ensure I play by your rules and your pets to ensure a safe secure environment. I have walked rescue dogs before mostly on leads and I would ensure your pets are well secured before opening doors. When out I’d be cautious of animals and people to ensure your pet safety and their pets. I would be led by your routine and rules and support your pet through any requirements they have.

About: I’ve cared for animals for as long as I can remember, growing up around both dogs and cats and regularly helping friends, neighbours and family with their pets from a young age. Looking after animals has always come naturally to me, and my love for them was especially inspired by my own dog, Toby. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine and needs, and I always take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable and loved while in my care. Whether it’s energetic walks, puppy visits, companionship, feeding routines or quiet cuddle time, I genuinely treat every pet like family. I’m DBS checked, fully insured and Level 2 Canine First Aid trained, so owners can feel confident that their pets are in safe and caring hands. I also provide regular photo and video updates for extra peace of mind. 🐾 I currently support my partner in running his business, which gives me plenty of flexibility and time throughout the week to provide attentive, loving care for your pets. I’m available for boarding at weekends and on weekdays after 4pm, and I’m also available for walks, drop-ins, companionship visits and overnight care depending on your needs. I love spending quality time with animals, whether that’s adventures and playtime outdoors, calm companionship, cuddles on the sofa or helping nervous pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. Your pet’s safety, happiness and comfort will always be my top priority, whether caring for them in my home or in the comfort of their own familiar environment. I understand that many pets feel most relaxed in their own home and routine, so I always aim to provide calm, loving and attentive care that keeps them feeling safe, settled and happy while you’re away. I’m well versed with local walking spots, parks and safe enriching areas for dogs to explore, including a beautiful arboretum right on my doorstep, helping make every walk both stimulating and enjoyable depending on your dog’s individual needs and energy levels. I am DBS checked, fully insured and Level 2 Canine First Aid trained, so owners can feel completely reassured their pets are in safe and capable hands. I’m also happy to provide regular photo and video updates throughout visits for extra peace of mind.
“Louise was absolutely amazing with our little puppy Oreo. He doesn’t like being left and she was so flexible in terms of his care to make sure he was happy. Oreo had a great time for 3 days and we are so grateful for the kindness you showed Oreo. We would highly recommend Louise to anyone.”

About: I’ve been helping friends and family look after their pets for years, and it’s always been something I’ve loved doing. Over time, I realised it was something I wanted to do more often — not just for those I know, but for anyone who needs a caring, reliable place for their dog to stay. I try to make our space feel as relaxed and welcoming as possible — a true home away from home. There are cosy beds dotted around the house, and every dog is free to sleep wherever they feel most comfortable, or we can follow your usual routine if you have one. We enjoy daily walks, plenty of playtime, mental stimulation with puzzles, and of course, lots of cuddles. From time to time, we book enclosed fields so your pup can safely run and explore off-lead. Whether it’s a short stay or a longer visit, your dog will be cared for just like one of our own — with love, attention, and a wagging tail guaranteed. I currently work with dogs all through the week with walking, training support, doggy day care and sitting so this is what i do. Depending on the needs of your fur baby depends on how I work my week to be either around them or fully inclusive of them. They are more then welcome to join in on group walks, have fun and socialise with others or to be walked solo and have one on one time with me. Animals dont have a one size fits all, I want to make them feel as comfortable as possible so can tailor things to suit. Your loved one fits into our home in what ever way fits their personality. What ever makes them feel most comfortable and helps you to relax whilst away.
“Our dog loved staying with Rachel for the day! He came back to us very chilled. Rachel was great with him and we felt completely at ease leaving him and enjoyed our day. Thank you so much and we will certainly be looking forward to using again! ☺️”

About: I have many years of experience with dogs, we had dogs in our family since I was a child. My brother was a police dog handler for many years which helped me learn how to train dogs. So if you are struggling with your puppy I can help with that. I mostly work from home as I am self employed. My availability is very flexible and I can usually be available at short notice too I have a house with an enclosed garden and a minutes walk from a large park. I also have a small well behaved older jack Russel and can accommodate a crate if required

“Bethany was excellent. Phoebe settled with her straight away. She sent photos of her whilst out on their walk and when collecting Phoebe I’m sure she’d have been happy to stay. Can’t recommend Bethany enough. Thanks again, Phoebe & Karis”

“We feel really greatful to have found Izabela! She looked after our dogs like they were her own. She was very capable walking them and they enjoyed cuddles with her too. Highly recommend, will definitely be using again in the future”

About: As a rugby player, I adore being active in all walks of weather. Regardless of the rain, I can guarantee that your dog will have a playdate it will want to last forever! I have experience walking / caring for larger breeds like German Shepards, aswell as active, crazy fuzz balls like staffies. I also had a hamster, gecko and rabbits growing up, meaning ive pretty much experienced it all from reptiles to furry friends. Now I am back at university, I’ll have time from 10.30am Monday, Wed and Friday for walking, dropping in or seeing your pets! If i am staying as a house sitter, I can work my schedule around your pet to make sure they are kept company for the entire day / night! ( excluding the 3 hours of training in the morning- i have no other committments!!) I have a fenced, fully enclosed medium garden, with loads of fields / woodland walks nearby via foot or car, meaning there are endless opportunities for walks

Christine and Craig are very welcoming and made me feel at ease from the start. I was a bit worried at first because Yuki is a big dog and can be a challenge when it comes to socialisation, but they clearly know how to handle her with care and confidence. They kept me updated with photos and messages about how Yuki was doing, which gave me great peace of mind and helped me feel connected to my pup. They were also quick to respond and always friendly when answering my questions. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring and reliable dog sitters!

Kerry was very accommodating given the short notice of our request. She is professional, friendly and gave us the reassurance we needed to leave our Bonny with her for the day. Bonny seemed to make herself right at home and was happy in Kerry’s care. We look forward to using Kerry’s services again in the future!

Safie is so lovely and was really great with Penny. She sent lots of pics and great updates which put our minds at ease. Penny came back happy and tired, ready for a snooze after a lovely day. Would definitely recommend Safie and would definitely book again ! :)

I honestly couldn’t of picked a better sitter Dhaara was amazing with my puppy, Teddi, during his 5-day stay. She went the extra mile every day — not only giving him so much love and care, but also helping with his development as he’s still learning. I really appreciated the daily updates, which gave me peace of mind and made me feel connected while I was away. Dhaara is so kind, patient, and trustworthy — I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Steph was the first person we left Rolo with, he is only a young puppy so I was nervous to leave him for the first time, but Steph was absolutely amazing. Her communication and kindness was there from my very first message to her, she took the time to reassure me that Rolo was in safe hands, and took the best best care of him. I received updates from her throughout the day letting me know what he was getting up to and he had such a lovely day with her. Steph, thank you so so much for taking such wonderful care of our little baby!! I am so grateful and will definitely be returning to Steph next time Rolo needs looking after. Steph is so kind, caring and it’s so evident she absolutely adores dogs❤️ thank you so much steph xx

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
