“Kristen was very communicative to accommodate Rocco at short notice and completely reassured me before arrival On arrival she made such a fuss and showed him and I around and off he trotted tail wagging with his new friends. I got updates during the day to put my mind at rest for his first visit and she even had plenty cuddles with him. I took home a very happy and tired doggo who was full of tail wags We will be back!”

“Holly has been amazing with my boy and I’ve absolutely loved the photos she sent, he looks so happy and he’s absolutely knackered from the walks and outdoor play. Thank you so much for looking after him and the feedback ❤️”

“Stanley loved his stay at Danielle's - I think he has been missing being part of a group, my older dog passed and my daughter's dog moved out with her, so he enjoyed the company. Danielle is very knowledgeable about dogs and she is helpful in assessing and monitoring his recovery from an injury.”

“Annabel helped me at the last minute, when we didn't have time for a meet and greet. Our dog is new to us and has limited training so I was worried about leaving him for the first time. He came home happy and tired. She asked all the right questions and was really reassuring. I will definitely be using her again.”

“Nadiya was very welcoming and my dog warmed up her to immediately. She kept me up to date with how Gigi was doing which was much appreciated considering it was snowing. I would highly recommend Nadiya to anyone x”

“Arnold had his 1st day visit today and Lisa took excellent care of him. She was sensitive to his anxiety and dealt with him so well. He settled down and has enjoyed his day. Tired doggie now. Thank you Lisa, we have already rebooked!”

“This was Rolo’s first time with a dog sitter and he absolutely loved being with Sarah, Mark and Piper too!!! Lots of photos and updates during the day which really put our minds at rest. Could not have had a better day, not sure he wanted to come home. Repeat long stay already booked, and will be booking more days and short stays in between too”

About: My husband and I live in a detached house in Lower Slaughter, right in the centre of the Cotswolds. We live with Poppy, our 3 year old Cockerpoo, and Banjo, a small 2 year old Goldendoodle. We have a large enclosed garden and dogs are ranked above humans at our house! Expect lots of cuddles, zoomies and naps in front of the (sealed) fire. Very relaxed household, where dogs are allowed on furniture and encouraged to play. I’m a freelance designer who works at home, so your pets will never be left alone. I take the pups out regularly to stretch their legs in our garden. We have a large, enclosed garden, where your fur babies can run freely with our two friendly dogs. When it’s time to relax, dogs are welcome anywhere in our home.
“Lacey was absolutely amazing with our Lola!! Lola can be anxious and slow to warm up to people but Lacey had her won over within minutes. Lola had the best day and we were absolutely certain she was well looked after. Brilliant communication, lovely updates and a very happy dog. Can’t thank you enough Lacey and would book again in an instant, thank you!”

“Very responsive and happy to have Harley with only a few days notice. Harley came home so relaxed and happy. Would definitely recommend and hopefully will be booking again soon.”

“From first meeting both Susan and Stephen my mind was put at ease. Both are considerate and listened to understand Terry’s do's and dont's to make the stay a pleasurable for everyone. Kept me updated and provided photos throughout. Terry returned a very happy dog with his tail wagging, which says it all. Thank you both for being so accommodating and understanding to Terry's "pawticular" requirements. It is evident you're dog lovers and Terry is looking forward to his next stay with you 😀”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Tewkesbury commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.
Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
